Bua Loi is being fostered in LA. She loves cats, and can be good with quiet, calm dogs. She has been around a rabbit and has done well. She is heart worm positive and is undergoing treatment that will extend until this spring. Bua Loi came to us from a monastery in Texas! She was not in good shape when she first arrived there, but they nursed her back to health and reached out to us. Bua Loi has been in her foster home for several months now. She enjoys spending time outside and loves to prance like a show horse! She also loves to lay in front of the window and take sun baths. She enjoys being petted and getting attention, but is also ok when she's left alone. And she loves to eat! Playing games where she has to sniff for her food is one of her favorite activities. Bua Loi loves cats! In her previous home at the monastery, she adored their cat and they would lay and cuddle with each other. In her current foster home, she spends some time in a room with their rabbit, and she does very well. She also enjoys when there are foster cats who let her cuddle. Bua Loi's foster home is working on helping her get used to having other dogs around, but she can be a nervous dog and would do best in a calm house with quiet or older dogs or cats, or as an only dog, and with a patient family to help her adjust. Recent changes in life and relocation has put both her and myself in a stressful situation, she's not adapting well. Req/infon: She will need someone experienced/patient either with no dogs or calm dogs. Due to 2 previous interactions with dogs attacking her any dogs that are high energy or sporadic will cause issue. She will attempt to avoid and get away from stressful situations but if the dog persists to invade her space she will snap back to warn them to get away. Calm dogs she is fine with, the respectful sniff and leave alone, fine and with time with the calmer dogs she will try to initiate play. She is absolutely the sweetest girl and loves her people more than anything in the world! Because of this, Marigold would do best in a home where her family is home more than not. Marigold needs slow introductions when meeting other furry friends but would do well with another calm dog. Marigold was found in a rural area along with 4 of her puppies back during an ice storm. Since she has been in her foster home, she has really bloomed! She is a smart girl and learned the doggie door quickly from her furry foster siblings. She is around 3 years old, 32 lbs., house-trained, and walks well on a leash. She rarely ever barks, sits on command and just longs to be by your side! Please note that we do not recommend Marigold to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. A NextDoor member reached out as he was unable to care for him. I stepped up, fully vetted him, and eliminated his skin issues. Our home is not the best home for him, as he is a smaller dog and occasionally gets trampled by the bigger dogs during play time. We believe he is highly adoptable and will do better in a more appropriate home. He is super sweet and easy going with no issues. He is so gentle that he won't even hurt an ant or a fly. He cannot be crated as he lived in one for most of his 8 years. He cannot be left alone as he was left alone most of his first 8 years. A home visit will be required.
