Story
Hi! I’m Jordan! I am a 1-year-old, 13 pound rat terrier pup.  I am not too sure what is rat terrier is but I do know I am a happy and bouncy little guy who loves playing with toys, sitting in laps, and getting belly rubs. I’m a little shy when I enter a new home with new people, but I warm up quickly and I get along with all dogs instantly, probably because I used to live with a lot of them. I don’t think I had a lot of rules or commands in my last house, but my foster mom is teaching me and I’m getting the hang of them pretty quickly. One of my favorite things to do is taking walks. I am now leash trained! I’d love to find a furever home with patient people, and at least one other dog to play with. Jordon is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $350, which helps cover medical expenses for the rescue. If you are looking for an adorable and sweet pup, please complete our online application at:  Application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up .  September 2, 2026, 8:48 pm

Story
Meet Taco! Taco was surrendered to our rescue when her mom could no longer financially care for her. Taco was 20lbs when she came to our rescue. She is now 13 pounds! She loves running around the backyard of her foster's house. She is playing with all the foster dogs. She loves to hang out on a soft blanket and get belly rubs. She will play with toys if you toss them to her. Taco is a little yappy when she first meets someone new but calms down quickly. She walks well on a leash too! Taco had a dental and sadly she lost all of her teeth. 8 years old and no teeth! She had bloodwork done and it all came back good. Taco is spayed neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and4DX(tick/heartworm test) negative. Taco is approximately 8 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Adoption Fee $150 To meet Taco, please fill out the application https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAWP/Dog

He forms strong bonds and wants nothing more than to be close to his favorite human. Because of this, Nim would thrive in a calm home where he can soak up all the love and attention he craves. He would do best with a single owner or someone looking for a devoted little shadow to share life with.   Nim gets along well with other dogs and is crate trained. He enjoys the simple things in life—being near his person, feeling safe, and receiving affection from those he trusts.  Adoption fee is $60 that includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, 30 days of free pet insurance, and veterinary examination. Story
Sabrina’s Story:  Neighbors watched Sabrina and worried about her. She was sitting patiently in the driveway waiting for her people to come home. But the neighbors knew that the people had moved away and left Sabrina behind and so they reached out to us. As if that wasn't bad enough, Sabrina wasn't moving properly, and when we took her to see our vet, we found out that she had multiple  fractures of her pelvis! Today Sabrina is doing very well in her foster home. She has been on a program of careful rest and monitored activities and her fractures are healing well. She still has a way to go, but would like to complete her rehab in a home of her own. Help A Dog Smile will continue to cover all necessary medical expenses at her current vet practice. Sabrina has beautiful manners, she is house trained using a doggie door, possibly without one as well. She eats her food nicely and gets along great with the other foster dogs. She is leash trained and enjoys a quiet walk, but is terrified of traffic. It's possible that her pelvis was fractured due to being hit by a car. Sabrina would do well in almost any home. She attaches herself quickly to her humans and is very gentle and undemanding. She has not been around cats or small children but would probably do well. It's important for her continued healing that she not jump or play hard. She is happy to spend her day lying at your feet or curled up in her bed  Sabrina is estimated to be 5-6 years old, and is looking forward to meeting you. Adoption Requirements : Sabrina’s adoption fee is $350. If you think Sabrina is the dog for you please review the following adoption requirements.   Must live in the Phoenix metro area Must have a securely fenced yard Must be willing to work with Help A Dog Smile Rescue on Sabrina’s rehabilitation from a fractured pelvis.  Help A Dog Smile will continue to cover all necessary medical expenses from the fracture at her current vet practice. If you are interested in Sabrina please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  March 12, 2026, 10:04 pm
