Meet Kali—a lovable, loyal little lady with a big personality! Kali is the perfect blend of curious and cuddly. She’s an explorer at heart and enjoys checking out her surroundings, but she’s no troublemaker—Kali does great at home even when left alone. True to her dachshund roots, she’s got a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds or the occasional feral cat, so she’ll do best in a home without small pets like cats, guinea pigs, or reptiles. Kali lives for park days and adores playing chase with her doggie pals. She’d thrive in a home with a secure backyard (she is part dachshund, after all—digging is in her DNA!) and would love a furry sibling to hang out with while her humans are away. She gets along well with other dogs her size. Kali isn’t shy about expressing herself—if she thinks she’s missing out on the fun, she’ll let you know with a few vocal opinions. :) When the day winds down, Kali transforms into a total cuddlebug. She’ll gently nuzzle in close, letting you know she’s ready for some cozy snuggles and a little extra love. This sweet girl is ready to bring joy, adventure, and a whole lot of love to her forever family. EMAIL ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to meet Kali and see for yourself what a gem she is!

Story
Meet Herbie! Herbie is a 4-1/2 year old, 18 pound Dachshund/mixed breed pup who found his way back to us when there was a change in the household. He's a very calm, friendly, gentleman who enjoys the company of other dogs, although he does not like sharing his food, so he'll need to be fed separately from other animals. He is house trained and has lived with an older child (12 yrs) and did well. His favorite activity is playing with stuffed toys, and he enjoys making himself at home in bed with his humans. He believes that "driver assist" means he's supposed to help with the driving, so he will need to be restrained when traveling by car. Herbie is residing at the Adoption Center, and can't wait to meet you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Sadie is a 5-year-old mixed breed with a heart full of potential. She didn't get much socialization as a puppy, so meeting new people can feel overwhelming at first. She’ll need patience and a few visits to truly feel safe, but once she trusts you, her sweet and affectionate side shines through. Sadie’s sister, Charlie, has already found her forever home, so now it’s her turn. She’s selective with other dogs, so if you already have a canine companion, introductions will be important to make sure everyone gets along. Sadie would do best in a calm home with teens and adults who understand her need for space as she settles in. She loves treats (they’re her favorite!) and is learning how fun toys can be. With time, kindness, and consistency, Sadie will reward you with loyalty and love. Adoption Requirements: Behavior consult, children 13+ Her adoption fee is $350 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market

Story
Sweetie is a spayed female thats about 1.5-2 years old weighing 17-18lbs. She’s has a beautiful brindle long hair coat that is very soft. She loves belly rubs and sitting on the couch together. Can be very vocal when playing, play growls and grunts and whines, it can be quite hilarious teasing her during play time. Fully vaccinated, rabies vaccine good until Jan 2028, bordatella and lepto good until Jan 2026. Can provide the records. Also have 6 months of heart worm meds Ill give with her. She is on the science hill no corn diet and shes had no problems with it, I actually have an auto feeder for her which she’ll come with. Grass pad trained, I can give you 6 grass mats + pads while you work on getting her to potty outside, I just work 9-12 hour shifts and couldn’t ever make her hold it for that long as I live alone in an apartment. I also have a nail grinder, treats, 20lb bag of dog food, and a dog bed to go with her. Microchipped!

Story
Sal has been happy in his adopted home for 2 years , he's potty trained and walks on a leash, but unfortunately he has gotten in a jealous feud with one of the male dogs there. He can be great as an only dog or maybe with another female with an intro.

Story
Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy! Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job. I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out. Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session. I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice! Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute. Come meet me—I have a feeling we’re meant to be! Please email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to schedule a meet & greet.

This precious baby was found all alone under a dumpster trying to figure out how she ended up there. Thankfully she was safe and just longing to be in a warm home and to be loved and snuggled. She is soft, gentle and the best snuggler you could ever imagine! She is such a lovebug! She will bring joy to her forever family!!
