Story
Spike is a 2-1/2 to 3 year old 19 pound Dachshund blend who joined us recently and is looking for his forever home!To get started in the process of meeting this adorable girl, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Meet Kali—a lovable, loyal little lady with a big personality! Kali is the perfect blend of curious and cuddly. She’s an explorer at heart and enjoys checking out her surroundings, but she’s no troublemaker—Kali does great at home even when left alone. True to her dachshund roots, she’s got a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds or the occasional feral cat, so she’ll do best in a home without small pets like cats, guinea pigs, or reptiles. Kali lives for park days and adores playing chase with her doggie pals. She’d thrive in a home with a secure backyard (she is part dachshund, after all—digging is in her DNA!) and would love a furry sibling to hang out with while her humans are away. She gets along well with other dogs her size. Kali isn’t shy about expressing herself—if she thinks she’s missing out on the fun, she’ll let you know with a few vocal opinions. :) When the day winds down, Kali transforms into a total cuddlebug. She’ll gently nuzzle in close, letting you know she’s ready for some cozy snuggles and a little extra love. This sweet girl is ready to bring joy, adventure, and a whole lot of love to her forever family. EMAIL ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to meet Kali and see for yourself what a gem she is!

Story
Harper is an 11-year-old Weiner pit mix with a heart full of love! She was rescued years ago and has been a loyal companion ever since. Harper adores people, snuggles, walks, and milk bones. We’re looking for a calm, dog-free home where she can be the center of attention! She’s sweet, affectionate, and still has plenty of life and love to give! 🩷

Story
Harper is a good dog around people and kids but is aggressive toward other dogs. Because I am moving into a home with a dog, I must get rid of Harper. She does well on walks and rides nicely in vehicles. She has been a great companion for 3 years. Unfortunately, my financial situation causes me to share a home and find a new one for her.

Story
Meet our glowing mama-to-be, Strudel! 🐾 possibly a 3-yr old dachshund mix, she currently weighs 15 pounds and is just about due to have her puppies! She’s calm and unbothered by fireworks or loud noises, endlessly kind and gentle, and always mindful around the pool. When she’s in the mood for extra love, she makes the most adorable little grunts and grumbles to let you know. She’s very shy at first, but warms-up if she receives affection. We’re so excited to see what she brings—any guesses on how many sweet pups she’ll have? 🐶✨ https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSehLXiGiXL5NplwCcx6kqVwW6qy8FX7oCETnhgouJ4ienMwmA/viewform
