Story
We first got Brooklyn about 7 years ago in an apartment and she did wonderful. Would sleep all day and rarely had any accidents. She’s moved to a few different places with us and has always adjusted well. We have 2 small kids and she has never been aggressive towards them. She just runs away and hides from them. We just can’t give her the attention she needs especially as an old lady.

Meet Archer and Annika. We believe, based on information we have been given, that Archer is dad and Annika is daughter. These two came into rescue when their owner decided they could no longer care for them. Both Archer and Annika are in a foster home with other dogs and cats. Both are super sweet and are hoping to find a home together (although not mandatory).  These babies are learning the ropes with crate training and are used to using a dog door to go outside for potty breaks. They adorable duo is a most have and are hoping to find a home that is looking for lap dogs who require lots of love!  Please fill out their applciation on our website. A meet/greet followed by a home check is required. Their adoption fee is $200 each or $400 for the pair. Story
Geno is a 2 year old Dachshund / mixed breed pup who joined us recently and is now looking for his forever home. He's a playful guy who loves people, stuffed toys and tug-of-war. He is a very active and affectionate boy who knows basic commands, and is working with our volunteers on perfecting his leash manners. He has excellent riding in the car manners, and he's house trained. He is a fun, energetic guy, who is very gentle when accepting a treat. If he goes home with a family with kids in the home or those that visit frequently, he'll do best in a home with kids 8+. He'll need to be in a feline-free home. Geno is enjoying being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes, and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm, or you may email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
