Story
I've been here before...yes three years ago I was adopted and I thoroughly enjoyed my person. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and couldn't take care of me any more. I'm not terribly sad, but I do miss having a person of my own. I prefer females, apparently men have not been nice to me in the past. If you know my breed you know I'm pretty strong headed. I get along with all my housemates, both girls and boys. I like to take walks, I walk pretty well on a leash. I love meal time, so be careful I don't get too large! I'm ready for that forever home....calling all dachshund lovers!

Story
Meet Little Girl! Little Girl is an adorable 8-year-old Dachshund mix with a heart as sweet as her name. She came to us with her mama after their owner could no longer care for them due to mental health struggles. A Gentle Companion Little Girl is as sweet as they come—loving, calm, and happiest when she’s close to the people she trusts. She loves gentle attention and will make a wonderful companion for a quiet, caring household. A Sudden Loss Little Girl recently lost her mama after a sudden, severe mass was found on her spleen, leaving us no choice but to let her go peacefully. Little Girl is now heartbroken and adjusting to being on her own for the first time. She’s searching for comfort, stability, and a family who can help her heal. A Safe Haven Awaits She is ready to leave her worries behind and find a forever home where she’ll be loved, protected, and cherished. Little Girl may be small, but her heart is big—and she’s waiting for someone to show her that brighter days are ahead. If you have room in your heart and home, come meet this sweet girl and give her the second chance she deserves. ##2523134##

Story
Jaid came to DREAM after her owners never returned for her while staying with neighbor. She’s a sweet little gal looking for a place to land and a lap to cuddle on. We know very little about her past (not even her age-its just a guess) but we have followed some clues that lead us to believe she’s had back surgery in the past. She walks just fine and to the untrained eye she walks with an adorable swish. She has had all her regular vetting (shots, tests, spay) and also some imaging. She was having some issues and scanned showed cystitis and she is being treated for that. Don’t let all that medical talk fool ya, this gal is got spunk and is living out loud with many years left to share her passion for taking in all life has to give. If you are interested in adopting Jaid, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Jaid's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Jaid will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter
