Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Milo is a very special pure bred Dachshund who is turning 4 years of age in January 2025.  He is weighing in on the heavy side at 28 pounds due to this   Previous owner having major health issues and could not take him out for the exercise he needed.  He is walking now and on a fair and practical diet to trim him down about 8 pounds.  Milo is a handsome light blonde boy that is in our care after owner asked us to take him and find a great home.  He is adjusting to the new life with his foster mom and another dog in the foster home and also a cat. He is finding his rhythm in the new lifestyle and is housebroken when on a schedule and walks nicely and quietly on the leash in the neighborhood.  This boy is so loving and just wants to snuggle when inside with you and sniff all the outside worldly smells when on a walk.  He loves his sweaters and his darling winter coat and he craves your attention and a recliner to sit in with you.   He is healthy and getting happier as the world of going for walks has started anew for him.  He is hanging out with a Lab/pit mix male and they are enjoying each other’s company.   The cat is not so happy but tolerant about Milo being there and he is trying to be respectful.  If you love the Dachshund breed then you will love our pleasantly plump Milo, who is soon to be a little muscle man instead, once he drops a few pounds, he will be a treat to have at the end of your leash and a companion maybe sleeping on the pillow next to you. He is game for the next “Big Adventure” in life as long as it is active.   If you are interested please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 2, 2024, 10:18 pm

Story
Can anyone resist this guy?? Meet Butter, a charming 16-pound piebald dachshund with a stunning coat of white, black, and tan. At around 4 years old, Butter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & on preventative. He recently had a dental cleaning. His silky-soft fur is simply irresistible! Butter loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can curl up across your lap for a cozy nap. He adores his people and follows them from room to room, showing just how much he enjoys being close. When left alone, he can get a bit upset but will settle down. He is crate trained. Butter is also a great car companion. Walking around the neighborhood is one of Butter’s favorite activities. He thrives when he can join a group of dogs, sniffing around and watching squirrels. He is prey driven & will chase after things so he MUST be kept on leash at all times or in a secure fenced in yard when off leash. Due to a sensitive stomach, Butter eats only Hill's Prescription Diet I/D small bites in chicken flavor. He loves his food & has no trouble finishing his meals. Butter does see the resident cats and barks at them. He seems a little too interested in them so we are working on this!! He is a total love bag & will make someone or a family a great addition. Please apply for Butter at coaldr.org if you are interested in adopting him. His fee is $500
