Story
Rusty Cuddles is looking for a special family who is home more than not and understands the beauty of loving a senior dog with special needs.  He is looking for a warm lap, gentle hands and a family who will cherish him for the rest of his days (and believe me you will fall deeply in love with him, if special needs seniors are your jam!) Rusty is a 15 yo/8 lb mini dachshund mix with a gentle soul and a heart made entirely for cuddles.  Though he is blind, Rusty experiences the world through sound, touch & the comfort of being close to his people. His favorite place is in your arms — that’s where he feels safest and happiest This precious senior has been through so much, yet he remains incredibly sweet, affectionate + trusting. He does great in his foster home, has made friends with the other dogs and thrives in a chill & loving environment! True to his doxie nature, Rusty is deeply bonded to his humans and will happily let you know when he needs a little extra reassurance—especially with his nighttime cuddles. They are his favorite! Rusty deserves to spend his golden years wrapped in love, safety, and comfort. Story
Bicu is from a community in Oaxaca. His name means dog in Zapotec, the Indigenous language of the place he came from. He is now about 11 months old, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and licensed in Cambridge. Bicu is goofy, loving, and full of zoomies. He is affectionate, funny, and loves to be close. He already knows sit, down, and paw, and he is eager to keep learning. Like many young rescues, he also has some challenges. He is very high-energy, sometimes reactive with other dogs, and he struggles with separation anxiety. He is house-trained but needs regular outings and is still working on leash skills. With people, he is sweet and enthusiastic, sometimes a little too enthusiastic, and he is curious but gentle with cats.

Story
I’m Loo-Loo, a 3-year-old, 32-pound Dachshund/Terrier/Basset mix. I’m active and enjoy sniffing around the yard and on walks, but I can also be mellow and will curl up for a nap on a soft bed. I get along well with other dogs and am crate trained. I was heartworm positive when I was rescued down South, but I’m healthy now and ready to find a home where I can get love and affection at last! Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you.

Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Victor! Victor is approximately 1 year old, 20 lbs currently and he might have some Dachshund in his mix! In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with kids 10+, and other small calm dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. He is initially shy particulalry with men and needs a home that will give him time to settle in.His foster says, `Vic is very alert and notices everything. When we are out walking he’s aware of everything around us, often looking for a car when it’s blocks away. He watches my dogs and when he sees them doing something that elicits praise, he does the same thing. I have a room near my side door where we go out that has two steps up to it. My shih tzu goes up the steps up have his harness put on, and after observing this, Vic with no encouragement began to do the same thing. I do have a fenced yard, and he loves going out for a run with my dogs. He also enjoyed visiting a dog park with my dogs. He was always aware of my location and looked up frequently to make sure that I was there. He loves to snuggle and follows me from room to room when I’m cleaning, cooking, or doing laundry. When we go for walks, he matches his walking speed to mine and looks up frequently. The only times he pulls are when he sees a cat or a squirrel. Vic is a smart, sweet dog who just wants to be loved. When told he’s a good boy he wags his tail so hard that his whole back ends goes with it.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth mid to late January. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com
