Story
Molly is a very loving 8 year old dachshund/chihuahua/terrier mix. She enjoys relaxing at home in the sun or going for long hikes. She is somewhat quirky and is sometimes hesitant about new people, but loves them once she gets to know them. She is very food motivated and knows a few fun tricks such as whisper, crawl, and fist bumping! Molly has a lot of energy for an older dog, but is content lounging in the sun for long periods of time or relaxing on a porch. She is a capable hiker and enjoys long walks. Molly is house trained and is left uncrated at home when alone without issue. She is a bit of an anxious dog and is prone to shaking when nervous. She does not like thunder or fireworks. She does take a daily dose of medication to help her anxiety. That medication plus training has helped her become less reactive. Besides her anxiety, she has not other health conditions. We're looking to rehome her as Molly is not a fan of our new baby and it's causing us and her too much stress.

Story
Meet Chico Benito]! Warning: Chico Benito may cause instant attachment. Big ears. Big Heart. Ready to belong. The Basics:• Gender: Male, Age: 4-6 months• Weight: 9.1 lbs• Breed: Dachshund Mix• Location: San Antonio• Neutered, yes Personality:Chico Benito is the ultimate cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his person. He’ll happily follow you everywhere—even to the bathroom—because being near you is his favorite place to be. With his adorable little bunny hops and a name that means “little blessed,” he truly lives up to it. Ideal Home:• He is great with dogs. He is being fostered with 2 pitbulls and another small dog and he cuddles right in the middle of all the action! He plays with any dog that wants to play back with him• Good with cats: He hasn’t met any cats, but I think he would get along with them.• Good with kids: I think he would be good with kids, too. • Energy level: Though young and playful, he also likes naps! He will nap on your lap next to you in the bed or while on your lap while you are working on a computer• Best home: He is currently in an apartment and is still working on the learning how to go for a full walk on a leash. He does well while learning how to go potty outside. Training & Skills:• Potty trained: Working on it! • Crate trained: Yes and No. I will leave him in the crate for meals, timeouts and when I have to leave for long periods, but he is not the biggest fan.• Knows: Yes = Good and No = Bad The Extra Good Stuff:Chico Benito is a happy, easygoing pup who’s as adorable as they come. He quickly wins you over and just wants to be part of someone’s life. If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick, he’s your guy. Good to Know:He loves his person so much he wants to steal their clothes. He learned about chewing electrical cords the hard way. Oops! He has a cherry eye. Nothing too big and vet techs say they can have a surgery to stitch it in his eye if it bothers you/him. Transport available   ##2707005##

Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Gunnar! Gunnar is approximately 2 years old and 22 lbs currently and he is a Mutt with perhaps a splash of dachshund. Gunnar was found as a stray and was Heartworm positive. He has been treated and is now ready for his forever home. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could join households with kids 5+, cats, and other dogs. His foster says, `Mr. T.M. Gunnar aka Tiny Man Gunnar is an absolutely amazing pup. He is happy no matter what is going on. From sitting on the bed with his cat sister and looking out the window, playing around with his lab foster sister Lady, going for long walks, playing with toys in the yard, to burying himself under the covers with you at night when it is time to go to sleep, Gunner does it all with the utmost enthusiasm. His spunkiness will keep you smiling all day. He loves to run and play in the yard, and will gladly perform the perfect squeekerectomy to any toy that needs it. He will bark to let you know that he needs to go outside to potty, and when it is time to feed him. Tiny Man Gunner has been through alot in his young life, and continues to show us everyday how to live life with love and joy.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on April 24. Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
