Whether it’s burrowing under the covers or lounging on your lap, this little lad loves to be close to you. He’ll strut his way right into your heart and bed with his captivating gaze and two-toned eyes.Loki’s a sweet, loving doxie with a ton of moxie. He loves playing with dogs big and small, and he does well with kids from toddlers to preteens. He gets these adorable bursts of energy, but he’s generally a pretty chill dude who’s happy with short walks and play sessions. Loki would be the perfect dog for any home setting. While he is familiar with crate accommodations, Loki doesn't love being away from his humans or confined. He settles in and can sleep there overnight, but much prefers the plushier finer things, like furniture - specifically a mattress and a warm body. He's a pro at letting you know when he needs to go out, so pay attention to those cues as he can have the occasional accident if not taken outside quickly. And watch out for open doors – this little explorer loves a good run!So, if you are looking for a pint-sized snuggle buddy with an irresistible face, look no further! Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. If you cannot find a particular dog on our website, he/she may be on a temporary foster hold. All dogs are otherwise posted until they are officially adopted. This dog may have other interested adopters in line. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application.October 14, 2024, 12:16 pm

Story
Penny is a super sweet, loving girl. She is definitely a velcro dog and loves all the attention! She currently lives with a toddler and small senior dog and is great with both of them! It is unknown if she gets along with cats but tends to lock eyes on wild animals when out on walks so not sure she’d do well with other small animals. It is very important to us that she goes to a home that has experience with dogs. Although she is a great dog, she does need a lot of attention and training. She sometimes listens to “sit” but that’s about all she knows. She pulls on walks and gets excited to see other dogs and tends to bark but we think it’s because she wants to play! She would do well with someone who is active as she has lots of energy! We do not have her exact birthdate but she is estimated to be about a year old.

Story
Meet Butter, a charming 16-pound piebald dachshund with a stunning coat of white, black, and tan. At around 4 years old, Butter is neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, and up-to-date on heartworm treatment. He recently had a dental cleaning, and his silky-soft fur is simply irresistible! Butter loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can curl up across your lap for a cozy nap. He adores his people and follows them from room to room, showing just how much he enjoys being close. When left alone, he can get a bit upset and will bark until his loved ones return. Butter is also a great car companion and does not get car sick. Walking around the neighborhood is one of Butter’s favorite activities. He thrives when he can join a group of dogs, sniffing around and watching squirrels. He is comfortable doing his business during walks, too. With a fenced yard and a dog door, Butter enjoys the freedom to come and go as he pleases. He appears to have been pee pad trained before arriving, as he will use a pad even when the back door is open. He is in the process of adjusting to housetraining and will need a little more time. When left alone, Butter is kept in a large crate to ensure his safety and to keep him separate from senior dogs, allowing for a peaceful environment. He is well-behaved in the house and is not destructive. Due to a sensitive stomach, Butter eats only Hill's Prescription Diet I/D small bites in chicken flavor. Caution is taken to avoid any mishaps, as he once experienced an upset stomach after eating another dog’s food. Butter does see the resident cats and barks at them, but he is not allowed to get too close to keep him safe from potential swatting. For anyone seeking a loving companion who brings joy and cuddles, Butter may just be the perfect match!

Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 30 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 14, 2024, 11:29 am

Story
This handsome pup is Biff! He’s an adult low rider that lives to hang with his people! Biff is a designer mix breed pup. We think there’s a splash of Dachshund, a pinch of Hound, dash of Lab, a touch of Pittie, and a sprinkling of Mr Nice Pup.  Biff is excited for life and happy to be here. He’s a true joy to be around.  Biff knows his manners and would appreciate a confident owner willing to continue to help guide him. When first meeting people, Biff can be a little nervous but after a proper introduction, he makes fast friends. He’d love to hang out at breweries, go on hikes, or just enjoys leisurely stroll with his new family. Biff has spent some time with a professional trainer and did very well there! He learned the basics and his trainer will be happy to review everything Biff learned with his new family.
Biff would be a great addition to a home that already has a calm and confident dog.  He’s great with kids and currently had 2 legged family members that are between the ages of 8 & 21. If you'd like to make this handsome pup part of your family, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward the app to his foster who will reach out to answer any questions, share pictures, and talk all things Biff. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
