Story
Meet Stewie! Born in a high kill shelter after his mother was found pregnant roaming the streets of Lousiana. Was brought to a shelter in Vermont where he then found a home in Boston. Was raised in Boston, where he went on many group walks with other dogs, making lots of friends and posing for pictures. He enjoys hikes, the beach, naps and affection from friends and loved ones. He is seeking a new home with an experienced owner, as he needs slow introductions with new people, as well as a structured daily schedule. He is completely house broken and would be best in a single family home without kids.

Story
This lovely senior lady is Bethany, affectionately known as "Bee". Bee came into foster care from the Montgomery County VA shelter where she was an unclaimed stray. She is a very special girl as she is between 13 and 15 years old and is blind. Once familiar with her surroundings, Bee maneuvers well and is fond of exploring the outdoor spaces. Bee has recently had a dental and lost no teeth! She also had a polyp removed from her ear which was causing some chronic infections, which are now cleared up. Because of her blindness Bee struggles with housetraining, so a strict schedule of potty breaks would help her to get back to her routine. Bee would love a family where she could have a safe space to roam and enjoy all the smells, get lots of pets and love, and of course treats! If you would like to offer Bee a quiet, loving retirement home, she would love to be your new BFF!

Story
Meet Thea: The Ultimate Snuggle Girl Thea is a stunning caramel-and-white Dachshund mix, approximately 2–3 years old, who is ready to find her forever lap. If you’re looking for a true “burrower,” look no further! Thea loves the cozy life and is a gold-medal snuggler who’s happiest tunneled under a soft blanket beside her favorite person. She’s also the perfect co-pilot for weekend errands because she absolutely loves car rides. Whether you’re heading to the park for a stroll or just cruising around town, Thea is always ready to hop in and enjoy the adventure. She does have a strong chase instinct and will go after cats and squirrels, so she should always remain on a leash outdoors. The Essentials • Spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated • Current on heartworm prevention • House trained and leash trained • Understands pee pads • Not a fan of rainy weather, so she may occasionally have an indoor accident during storms Her Personality Thea is what you’d call a “slow-burn” sweetheart. New people can make her a little anxious, and she tends to use her voice when meeting someone for the first time. She’s looking for a patient adopter who understands that her barking is simply her way of saying, “I’m nervous right now.” Once Thea feels safe and learns to trust you, her affectionate side shines through. The barking fades, the snuggling begins, and she’ll happily burrow under a blanket for a cozy nap by your side. If you have a quieter home, an open passenger seat, and plenty of fuzzy blankets, Thea just might be your perfect match. Thea’s adoption fee is $400. Please apply for her at Coaldr.org

Story
Lola is a cute 11-year-old black and white dachshund beagle mix. She is energetic and loves walks but can tire out easily. She is great with people but cannot be around other dogs, unfortunately. She is a small dog, around 19 pounds. She is smart, loving, and a loyal companion. She is so very loved but after a recent life change, she needs a more stable environment. She takes a twice daily pill for seizures but has not had one for over a year. She has been the best family dog for us for over a decade and we hate to let her go but it is the best decision for her. We are heartbroken. She deserves a good loving home to live out her last years. Thank you for considering this forever loved, beautiful, amazing dog.

Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 165.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
