Story
😍⭐️Hi my name is Rachel and I'm a very easy going gal. I like other dogs and small kids don't bother me either. My current task is learning to adjust after losing my Mom at the end of April 26. Currently I'm being fostered by a nice lady with two dogs. The male is my soon to be age (9) and the female is 7yrs old and we are getting along - I'm still getting settled, but all is good so far. I like going out into the fenced yard and sun bathing on the patio, plus being near my foster mom while she is on the computer or watching TV. I'm a little chunky in my old age, but still very spry and know that if I lose 10-15pds my life will be awesome. So far on my diet, I've lost 1.5 pounds (Yeah). If you need a laid back, not a big barking gal in your life, fill out an adoption app for me, Rachel (and NO I don't know Ross (hahaha))💫⭐️

Story
Rusty Wallace is a 4 year old dauchshund mix.   Rusty is house trained, cat and dog friendly, and enjoys human companions of all ages.  If in a home with children, they need to be older children that understand Rusty's needs noted below.   He loves car rides. He sleeps in bed with his human but will also sleep in a kennel. He loves to burrow so blankets are a must!   Rusty came back into rescue severally overweight.  You can see that in his before and after photo in his bio. He worked hard and is now back to a healthy weight and just needs to maintain.    Rusty requires a home with no steps or minimal steps. He is currently in a home that has mostly single steps and where there are two steps, he has a ramp. He had to have spinal surgery so limited steps are a must. Steps are also needed for him to get on and off the couch and bed.    Rusty has seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy.  He is taking meds three times a day to prevent them. The meds do cause him to be extremely needy. He is very vocal until his needs are met.    Rusty would not be a good fit for an apartment.   He is good with dogs his size or smaller.  He can't be with a bigger dog that is playful or has a lot of energy. f you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Rusty Wallace’s adoption fee is $295.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. These babies are precious. We have mom and daddy also that will be in search of homes once they complete their vetting. There are 4 girls and 2 boys all different personalities. We are seeking FOSTER TO ADOPT at this time. Fosters have first chance at adoption also. They will have to come back to the rescue for their spay/neuters in about a months time. You must live within 30-45 min of Waterloo, IL and be willing to bring them back the night before their surgery in order to foster to adopt.  ##2743317##

Story
Meet Highland — proof that you can’t judge a dog by his silhouette. At first glance, you might think this unique dapple-coated pup has a little dachshund in him… but surprise! Highland actually has Great Dane in his mix. Somehow, all that big-dog DNA got packed into a smaller, delightfully quirky package — and the result is one of the most charming, conversation-starting dogs you’ll ever meet. Highland isn’t just about looks (though those certainly turn heads). He’s got a personality to match — funny, curious, and full of life. He’ll keep you smiling with his playful antics and win you over with his sweet, affectionate nature. He’s the kind of dog who makes every day a little more entertaining just by being himself. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind companion who will stand out in a crowd and steal your heart in the process, Highland is your guy. Come meet Highland and see for yourself — he’s even better in person. Highland's $220 Adoption Fee is a great deal. He is neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed & current on monthly heartworm preventative. Highland's estimated month of birth is 4/2025. Visit www.Pals-Pets.org to fill out a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire or call 314.581.6651 to schedule an appointment to meet this pet or any others here at the shelter.
