Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Spruce is in NJ waiting for a foster or adopter  Meet Spruce — our shy little sapling learning to trust again.   When Spruce first arrived, the world felt big and scary. Sudden movements made him freeze, and he wasn’t sure what gentle hands were for. He’s slowly learning that soft voices mean kindness and that love can be patient.   Spruce still feels safest in his crate, but every day he shows tiny signs of bravery—just last week, he ventured out for the first time, exploring for a moment before returning to his cozy spot. He’s a mellow soul who’s simply looking for a calm, quiet home where he can heal at his own pace.  He’d do best with:   – A peaceful home (no young kids)   – Patient humans who’ll let him come around in his own time   – A yard or small potty area while he learns leash life   – Other gentle pets are perfectly fine   Spruce may start out timid, but with love and time, we know he’ll blossom into the loyal companion he’s meant to be.  If you have a calm heart and a quiet home, you might just be the safe place Spruce has been wishing for.  Spruce will be up to date on vaccines. Wag On Inn will arrange for neuter at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. His adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training  prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pimbi is in NJ waiting for a foster or adopter Meet little Pimbi  This tiny soul came from a home where love and cuddles were new concepts, so he still startles easily and needs time to trust. Once he warms up, though, his playful side shines through—he’ll lick your fingers, chase his little doggy friends, and melt for treats.   Pimbi isn’t quite comfortable being held yet, but he’s learning what gentle hands and soft voices mean. He’s potty pad trained, goes outside in a fenced yard, and would love a safe space like a doggy playpen while he gets used to his new surroundings.   This boy would thrive with a calm, patient family who moves at his pace and shows him that love can be kind and consistent. Older, respectful kiddos (11+) would be just his speed. All Pimbi needs is time, tenderness, and the chance to finally feel safe—and when he does, his little heart overflows with love.  Pimbi will be up to date on vaccines. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Little Abhi is a very gentle soul who is just beginning to learn what love and safety feel like. He came from a hoarding situation where he did not get much one-on-one attention, petting, or handling, so new experiences can be scary for him at first. He is doing really well in his foster home.  He LOVES his foster mom, and follows her around.  He's more anxious around his foster dad, but he is starting to come back into the house when foster dad is around (so scary!), and he lets his foster dad pick him up now.  It's only been 2 weeks, so we think he's made a tremendous amount of progress.  Abhi is living with 5 other dogs and is fine and respectful with them all.  He hasn't started to play with any dogs yet, but he has discovered toys and loves to empty the toy box.  He enjoys being outside, wandering the yard.   He's even learned to walk on a leash, but we've only done short walks so far.  We don't think he ever had the opportunity to go for walks until now. Abhi does best with a soft-spoken, calm person who understands that trust takes time. Once he feels safe, he is incredibly sweet. He loves to hang out with in a chair, on the couch, or in bed, and he is very excited to see his foster parents when they come home.   He is still working on house training and has had a few accidents, so he will need a patient adopter or foster willing to continue to help him learn. Abhi will potty outside. Abhi has met a cat in his previous rescue home. He would thrive in a home with a canine companion or as an only dog, and older, considerate children who understand giving him space. Abhi is truly a sweet little guy who just needs time, love, and reassurance to blossom. With patience, he will reward you with quiet companionship and a heart full of gratitude. Abhi is up to date on vaccines, and has been neutered and microchipped. Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  Meet Gus & Smokey, a bonded pair of sweet senior gentlemen searching for a soft place to land for their golden years.  These two recently lost their beloved owner and, through no fault of their own, found themselves surrendered to an overcrowded shelter. Now they’re with us, hoping someone will see what we already do: two loyal best friends who deserve comfort, love, and stability. Gus, the adorable little doxie, weighs in at about 17 lbs and sticks close to his buddy at all times. His BFF Smokey (about 22 lbs) is a delightful mystery mix,  complete with a nub tail, big expressive ears (maybe some corgi in there?), and major Eeyore-style soulful vibes that will melt your heart. Both boys are estimated to be 10–12 years old, have been neutered, and just had dentals, so they’re all set and ready for their new “leash” on life.  Is there someone out there willing to open their heart and home to these two precious seniors and give them the peaceful, loving retirement they so deserve? If you’ve got room for double the love, Gus & Smokey are waiting. *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.February 3, 2026, 1:44 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application This girl came from a kill shelter, from what we heard they found her in a trap looking for food.  She does like to eat. LOL.  She is a good girl, we are working on her skin, as she seems to have skin allergies, whether it was from fleas or environment.  Older calm girl, but still has some spunk.  loves to go outside, loves treats and chew toys,  may be a little hard of hearing, but can hear.  Good girl and low maintenance.  Seems to have cataracts, cloudy eyes due to age. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2025, 1:11 pm
