Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Lennon is an adorable pup who is looking for a new home. He is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon with an approved foster or adopter. Meet Lennon!  Lennon is a 4 month old puppy with a sweet personality and a big desire to learn. He listens well, is eager to please, and is already proving himself to be a very good boy. Lennon is leash trained and knows both “sit” and “shake,” and he’s currently working hard on his house training. His mom is a Dachshund, and while we never met dad, Lennon looks like he may have had a Chocolate Lab father. We expect him to be around 35–40 pounds when fully grown. Lennon is looking for a loving forever home that will continue his training and help him grow into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. With his intelligence, affectionate nature, and willingness to learn, Lennon has all the makings of the best boy!   Lennon is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $600.  Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2026, 7:36 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Spruce is in NJ waiting for an adopter. Meet Spruce — our shy little sapling learning to trust again. When Spruce first arrived, the world felt big and overwhelming. He’s still unsure about hands and touch, and right now he finds the most comfort in the safety of his crate, where he can relax and observe the world from a place that feels secure. Spruce isn’t the kind of dog who will rush up for affection — he needs time, patience, and space to build trust at his own pace. But that doesn’t mean he won’t get there. Dogs like Spruce often form incredibly deep, meaningful bonds once they feel safe, and every small step he takes is progress. He’s a quiet, gentle soul who would thrive in a calm home with people who understand that love sometimes means simply sitting nearby and letting him come to you when he’s ready. He’d do best with: – A peaceful home (no young kids) – Patient, understanding humans who will respect his boundaries – A consistent routine and safe spaces (like his crate) – A yard or small potty area while he continues gaining confidence – Other calm, respectful pets could be a great influence Spruce may not be ready for cuddles just yet, but with time, patience, and kindness, he has the potential to blossom in his own beautiful way. If you believe in earning a dog’s trust and celebrating the little wins, Spruce could be the one who changes your heart forever. Spruce will be up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Canela is a happy girl who is looking for a new home. She is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but will come to NJ in June. Meet Canela, our low-rider queen with a big personality and even bigger heart. This one-year-old Dutch hound/Lab mix somehow got the legs of a Beagle and the coloring of a yellow Lab… and yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds. Canela is all wiggles, zoomies, and love. She’s goofy, affectionate, and always on the move—seriously, getting a clear photo of her is basically an Olympic sport. She’s super dog-friendly, making her the perfect sidekick for family outings and adventures. She’s mostly house-trained and just needs a little polishing to be the total package (which she basically already is). If you like your dogs short, long, and full of personality, Canela is your girl.  Canela is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption donation is $500.  Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Banjo is an energetic boy who is looking for a new home. He is currently with one of our sister rescues down south but hoping to come to NJ soon with an approved foster or adopter. Meet Banjo… your future best friend and full-time entertainer  Banjo is a sweet, energetic little guy who wakes up every day ready to play and soak up all the love he can get. He’s the kind of pup who can happily keep himself busy with his favorite rubber donut or a good Nylabone—but what he really wants is to be right by your side. This handsome boy is doing great with his kennel training and is working hard on his potty skills like a champ. He’s learning the ropes and just needs a family willing to keep cheering him on. Banjo LOVES other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy—his current best friend is a 60 lb lab mix, and they have a blast together. Because he’s still polishing up his doggy manners (and has lots of puppy enthusiasm), he may be a bit much for smaller or older dogs. He’s wonderful with people and enjoys kids too, but his excitement level might be a little overwhelming for very young children. Think of him as your happy, wiggly, always-ready-for-fun sidekick. Banjo is pretty quiet overall, saving his voice for important things—like reminding you it’s mealtime or that he’d really prefer to be part of whatever fun you’re having. This boy would do best in a home where he has space to run, play, and burn off his joyful energy—whether that’s a yard, regular outings, or an active household. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion who will keep you smiling every day, Banjo just might be your guy  Banjo is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application This girl came from a kill shelter, from what we heard they found her in a trap looking for food.  She does like to eat. LOL.  She is a good girl, we are working on her skin, as she seems to have skin allergies, whether it was from fleas or environment.  Older calm girl, but still has some spunk.  loves to go outside, loves treats and chew toys,  may be a little hard of hearing, but can hear.  Good girl and low maintenance.  Seems to have cataracts, cloudy eyes due to age. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 11:36 pm

Story
Carolina - 2 year & 13lbs, Chi Mix, Spayed This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:BEGINNER – “Beginner” doesn’t necessarily mean easy as all dogs will require time, work, and patience, but we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale because of their breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup.  Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2715666##
