Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!

Story
Scrappy’s a 5yo 17lb Doxy mix. He’s calm dog and kid friendly. He’s housebroken, good in a secure fenced in yards and/or going on harness leashed walks. He’s loves calm dogs, playing with toys, cuddling with his people and just being with them. Scrappy’s foster requires a home where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, allow him on furniture to snuggle and gets tons of attention. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Scrappy as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Scrappy’s neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in Logan Township, NJ. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
We have had a doxie shortage around here for a while but finally have this gem! Well, technically she’s a chiweenie but definitely heavier on the weenie 🌭, just with slightly longer legs. Layla is a 14 month old sweetheart. A little timid at first but a sweet playful puppyish girl who warms up fast. She was never taken outside or put on a leash and was just trained on wee wee pads, so will need some work on leash-training and housebreaking (probably putting wee wee pads outside to start as she definitely knows and targets them). She likes other dogs, but plays rough and her best friend growing up was a German Shepherd, is about 16lbs full grown, and seeing a vet for the first time this week and getting spayed. If you are a doxie lover, you are sure to fall in love with this sweetheart. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Layla in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Prancer is a sweet boy who is looking for a home. He is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana and will be landing in a NJ foster home on 1/10. Prancer came to our partner rescue with his brother and has bene learning that the world isn't such a scary place after all. He can be a little timid at first, but once he decides you're his person, he'll stick by your side like a shadow. His happy place? Right next to you (or more accurately on your if you'll let him) Prancer isn't the outdoorsy type- a quick potty break and he's ready to head back inside for couch cuddles. He's a calm, low energy boy who would rather curl up than chase a ball. He's made amazing strides in his foster home. Kennel time used to be tough for him but he sleeps through the night next to his foster siblings kennel.  If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Prancer's your guy!   Prancer is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He tested positive for heartworm and has started treatment. We are looking for a foster to complete his treatment here in NJ with 2 visits to our vet at the Barnegat Animal Clinic.     His    adoption fee is $450.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wag-on-inn.com . To apply, click  HERE  or on our website, go to Adoptable Pets and Adoption Application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 22, 2025, 8:57 pm
