Meet Delilah &Limbo! Some dogs find comfort in a favorite blanket. Delilah and Limbo find comfort in each other. These 10-year-old Dachshund littermates (turning 11 on August 24th) have spent their entire lives side by side. Rescued together from a home with more than 60 dogs, they've faced every change, every new experience, and every fresh start as a team. And honestly? They wouldn't have it any other way. When it's time for bed, you'll find them curled up together, often sharing the same bed without a care in the world. When it's time to eat, they're happy to share space and enjoy every bite, making up for years of uncertainty. When something new happens, they look to each other for reassurance. They are the perfect yin and yang. Delilah is the social butterfly of the duo. She loves being around people and has a funny little habit of rubbing her back against your legs or hands to give herself a back scratch while soaking up affection. She's cheerful, affectionate, and always interested in being part of whatever you're doing. Limbo takes a little longer to warm up. He's more of an observer at first, quietly taking everything in before deciding you're worthy of his trust. But once he settles in, his sweet and gentle personality shines through. His foster describes him simply as perfection. Together, they're remarkably easy companions. They quickly learned the routine in foster care, sleep quietly through the night, and are making excellent progress with house training. They use wee-wee pads and are learning that going outside is pretty great, too. Like many dogs experiencing home life for the first time, they still have the occasional accident, but they're trying hard and improving every day. These two get along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and are currently living with canine housemates ranging from tiny to over 70 pounds. They're also wonderful with children and have shown themselves to be resilient, adaptable, and incredibly loving. What makes Delilah and Limbo so special isn't just their bond—it's their outlook on life. After spending nearly 11 years as two of more than 60 dogs, they could have been fearful or withdrawn. Instead, they have embraced every opportunity for love, comfort, and connection. They don't ask for much. A soft bed. A steady routine. A family to call their own. And most importantly, each other. Delilah and Limbo are looking for a home that understands some bonds are too special to break. In return, they'll fill that home with twice the love, twice the companionship, and countless heartwarming moments. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rascal is with our partner rescue in LA and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter Meet Rascal — and yes, you read that right, he’s a Doxie-Poo (that’s Dachshund + Poodle, with a little “doc-doc” charm mixed in).   This sweet 7-year-old boy recently lost his world when his owner passed away. He was found living alongside a couple of other dogs, and now he’s looking for a soft place to land and someone to love him again. Rascal is calm, gentle, and happiest when he’s close to his person. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly keep you company, soaking up attention without demanding too much. Low energy and easygoing, he’s perfect for a home that appreciates a peaceful companion. Don’t let his mellow personality fool you—this little guy has some surprising athletic skills and can clear a 30-inch barrier, so he’ll need a home with a secure, tall fence to keep him safe. Rascal is friendly, quiet, and full of quiet devotion. After everything he’s been through, he deserves a second chance at love—and he’s ready to give his whole heart in return. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who just wants to be near you, Rascal might be your perfect match. Rascal is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  He has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2026, 9:23 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJCanela is a happy girl who is now in a NJ foster home. Meet Canela, our adorable low-rider queen with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This young Dutch Hound/Lab mix somehow ended up with the short legs of a Beagle and the beautiful coloring of a yellow Lab—and she's every bit as cute as it sounds. Canela has settled beautifully into her foster home and has quickly become a favorite wherever she goes. Her favorite place is right by your side. She follows her people everywhere and loves being included in whatever you're doing. Whether she's tagging along from room to room, curling up next to you on the couch, or soaking up belly rubs, Canela is happiest when she's close to her family. This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and has a gentle, loving personality that makes it easy to fall in love with her. She has done wonderfully meeting new people and quickly forms strong bonds with those around her. Canela has also been great with children and loves the attention and affection they provide. Canela is curious, playful, and always ready for an adventure. Like many young dogs, she enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring the world around her. Once she's had some fun and burned off a little energy, she's more than happy to settle down for cuddles and quality time with her people. Canela gets along well with other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving best friend. If you're looking for a dog who will shower you with love and be your constant sidekick, Canela may be the perfect match. Canela is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption donation is $500.  - Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Banjo is a fun boy who is looking for a new home. He is currently with one of our sister rescues down south but hoping to come to NJ soon with an approved foster or adopter. Meet Banjo… your future best friend and full-time entertainer  Banjo is a sweet, energetic little guy who wakes up every day ready to play and soak up all the love he can get. He’s the kind of pup who can happily keep himself busy with his favorite rubber donut or a good Nylabone—but what he really wants is to be right by your side. This handsome boy is doing great with his kennel training and is working hard on his potty skills like a champ. He’s learning the ropes and just needs a family willing to keep cheering him on. Banjo LOVES other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy—his current best friend is a 60 lb lab mix, and they have a blast together. Because he’s still polishing up his doggy manners (and has lots of puppy enthusiasm), he may be a bit much for smaller or older dogs. He’s wonderful with people and enjoys kids too, but his excitement level might be a little overwhelming for very young children. Think of him as your happy, wiggly, always-ready-for-fun sidekick. Banjo is pretty quiet overall, saving his voice for important things—like reminding you it’s mealtime or that he’d really prefer to be part of whatever fun you’re having. This boy would do best in a home where he has space to run, play, and burn off his joyful energy—whether that’s a yard, regular outings, or an active household. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion who will keep you smiling every day, Banjo just might be your guy  Banjo is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption donation is $500.  - Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJLennon is an adorable pup who is looking for a new home. He came from Louisiana and is now in a New Jersey foster home.  Meet Lennon!  Lennon is a 4.5-month-old puppy with a sweet personality and a big desire to learn. He listens well, is eager to please, and is already proving himself to be a very good boy. We're told that Lennon knows both “sit” and “shake,” and he’s currently working hard on his house training. He has started to enjoy his neighborhood walks, and LOVES to meet people and kids.  He is a big mush.   His mom is a Dachshund, and while we never met dad, Lennon looks like he may have had a Chocolate Lab father. We expect him to be around 35–40 pounds when fully grown.   Lennon is looking for a loving forever home that will continue his training and help him grow into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. With his intelligence, affectionate nature, and willingness to learn, Lennon has all the makings of the best boy!   Lennon is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.
