Story
Lorena’s a 2yo 9lb Doxie/Rat Terrier mix. She’s dog friendly. She’s pee pad and crate trained. She’s good with a small secure fenced in yard. She’s sassy, funny, energetic, and wants to be treated like the queen that she is. She loves to play with other dogs her size, prefers male dogs and likes car rides. She needs warm up time to new people. Lorena MUST have another young male dog her size to play with along with people who understand her special needs and not try to take her on long walks which she is not supposed to do. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Lorena came to us from a rescue in the Dominican Republic. She was unable to use her back legs. With months of water therapy and exercise, she is now walking and running. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Cherry Hill, NJ. If your home fits the bio and MUST haves and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Meet Katie!! She is a 2-year-old Dachshund mix who weighs  24 lbs. She was surrendered with her brother from an owner who had too many dogs. Katie was pregnant & now that all her puppies are adopted it is her turn to find a forever home. Katie’s foster mom says she is the most special girl who needs a special family. Katie is a very shy & unsure dog who will need time & patience as she gets accustomed to a new home. We think she would do best in a home with one or more other dogs as she looks for reassurance from the other dog in her foster home. She is very low energy, so we don’t think she needs a fenced yard & would be fine with a few short walks a day & would do well in an apartment or condo as she is dog that rarely barks. With Katie’s shyness she would do best with a quiet home without young children or a lot of people coming & going as she gets overwhelmed very easily. Katies is crate trained, housebroken & treat motivated. Katie’s foster mom is so incredibly proud of how she gains confidence every day & knows she will melt the heart of whoever adopts her.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Hi!  My name is Rusty and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up scrounging for food at a dumpster and taken to a scary place called a shelter.  When my stray hold was up and no one came looking for me, I was placed on something bad called "the list", but fortunately for me a small local rescue pulled me just in time.  A volunteer with that rescue then contacted a friend with BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes ... yeah!  I appear to be a mix of dachshund and terrier but whatever I am my foster mom says I'm a handsome boy with a sweet personality.  I'm a little shy when I first meet new people but with just a little bit of time and TLC, I love getting attention.  I'm about 7yo so I'm past all of that puppy foolishness, and at just a little under 25lbs, I will fit most anywhere.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and I haven't paid any attention to the cats I've encountered.  I'm good on leash once I have learned I can trust you but would love a fenced yard that I can explore in safety and take care of my business.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding although I would prefer to be out chilling with you.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Shadow is a sweet, tender boy. His legs are so short and his body so long. We call him “the nurse” because anytime anyone is sad or sick he is right there to cuddle and care for you. He buries under the covers like many other dachshunds. He loves to sit on peoples laps and be pet, more than he loves walking, which he treats as a necessity more than a fun activity. He also loves the car! He is quite the navigator with his eyes always out the front window. Shadow's people love him so much and have had him for 6.5 years, but he is displaying a lot of sadness since they added a human baby to their family. Shadow currently lives with another dog, two adult humans, and a baby human. Although he does all right, he is showing that he really would be better in a less full home. If you are looking for a sweet boy who loves to cuddle and just wants a sweet place to call home. Shadow is your guy.
