Trixie is a 5 year old spayed female dachshund who weighs 9 pounds. She was rescued from living in poor living conditions, where she was skin and bones and in need of emergency care, weighing only 3 pounds. After taking her into our care, she continued to lose weight and was diagnosed with EPI. Treatment for EPI in a pancreatic enzyme added to each meal, which she gobbles up. She has already put on lots of weight and is so much happier! Trixie loves everyone she meets, is always wagging her tail, has tested great with other dogs and is a very good girl. This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Hi! My name is Charlie and I am looking for a forever home. Me and my friend were surrendered to a small rescue after our owners claimed we were "chasing chickens" and said they no longer wanted us. A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help us and they said yes! I appear to be a dachshund mix (no telling what that mix might be!), am only around 1 year old but past all of that puppy foolishness and I weigh a little over 21lbs, not too small but not too big. I love getting attention even more than getting treats (but I won't turn one down!). I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats that I've encountered. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of bedding. I'm good on leash and enjoy going on walks as it means I get to be with you and out on an adventure.
