Tangy like your favorite salsa &#127798,, and as sweet as a celebratory birthday cake &#127874,,. Roxy is truly delectable. Roxy is a small, adorable dog with a large, delightful, and bold personality! She adores meeting new people (preferably adults and older children) and, when petted, wriggles her tushie with delight. She enjoys the company of most dogs and would welcome a meet and greet with other dogs that reside in the household. Roxy has demonstrated impeccable house manners - that is, she sleeps quietly through the night, is not destructive, and does not show signs of separation anxiety. She loves to explore, whether it be indoors or outdoors, yet also enjoys quiet time simply cuddling and resting. She is a very entertaining gal who looks forward to a foster or an adopter who will provide her the love, warmth and comforts of a home that she so richly deserves. So, c'mon and add a delicious Roxy spice to your life, complemented with an abundance of sweetness, and see for yourself all the love and joy she has to offer. Thank you for your interest in Roxy! Story
Meet Peyton! Peyton was part of an abandoned family of pups we rescued this winter. She and her mate, Woody, had been surviving outside in the bitter cold when we found them. Peyton was very pregnant and in need of immediate help. Thankfully, we got them to safety just in time for her to deliver her puppies in a warm, loving foster home. Now that her pups are weaned and she’s been spayed, Peyton is officially retired from motherhood and ready to begin her next chapter, finding a forever home of her own. Peyton has been in her local foster home for about 6 weeks now, living with her foster parents and two small dogs. She integrated easily into the pack and enjoys the company of other pups. She’s a young, playful girl who would love to have a canine companion in her new home to keep her company and share in her adventures. Kristin, her foster mom, describes Peyton as having a great personality. She can be a little shy at first, but with just a little attention, she settles in quickly and builds trust. She’s a fun little low rider who enjoys playing fetch and loves her toys. She's housetrained, crate-trained, but has earned free-roam privileges in her foster home. Peyton has a moderate energy level. She's happy romping around with her foster siblings but also enjoys cuddling up on the couch for some downtime. She’s very enthusiastic about giving kisses, and Kristin is working with her on moderation. Peyton has started going on regular leash walks and seems to really enjoy them. She loves the outdoors and greets new people and dogs with ease.   FOSTER MOM UPDATE - 5/4/25 "Peyton is super sweet, loves to cuddle, and watches out our front window, taking everything in. She’s a good eater and sleeps soundly through the night. She loves to give kisses, sometimes too much, so we are working on that.  She's been great with our pack, and we've even had some playdates with neighborhood dogs. She would do best with a dog buddy who will play with her. She loves to run around and explore the yard with the other dogs.  Petydon has done great with house training, no accidents at all, and enjoys her walks too. I have not noticed fear of traffic or cars that have gone by us while walking. She is more curious about people and wildlife. Otherwise, she is a pretty confident walker." ********* Peyton is a lovely little dog with goodwill toward everyone she meets. She’ll make a wonderful, affectionate companion, and a perfect pup buddy, too.  Apply today! Story
Meet Amelia. This sweet girl was surrendered to a rural county shelter along with two other pregnant dogs from the same home. Stories like this break our hearts—three expectant moms under one roof, likely the result of unaltered male and female dogs living together. When the shelter reached out for help, Worthy Dog Rescue stepped in. We took in Amelia, and one of our partner rescues welcomed her puppies, ensuring this little family gets the bright future they deserve. Thankfully, Amelia was able to deliver her puppies in the safety and comfort of a foster home, where she proved to be an attentive, loving mom. It was immediately clear that she adores people—she’s affectionate, cuddly, and always eager for human companionship. She also has excellent doggy social skills, getting along with every pup she meets. Currently, she’s in a foster home with a larger dog and three cats. Her foster mom describes her as a very friendly pup who adjusts well to new situations—"A couple of sniffs, and she’s good to go!" She enjoys playdates with a neighbor’s dog and loves romping around with her foster sibling. Amelia is still a young pup, with all the energy and enthusiasm of adolescence. She’s always up for an adventure—whether it’s a walk (which she loves!), a road trip, backyard zoomies, or a car ride. She’s social, confident, and the perfect sidekick for an active household. But when the day winds down, she’s also a champion cuddler, happiest curled up on the couch with her favorite human. She sleeps soundly through the night, nestled in a cozy ball on her foster parent’s bed. House manners? Amelia has them! She’s fully house-trained and has never had an accident in her foster home. She tolerates the crate for treats (even if it’s not her favorite), and her leash skills are decent—she may pull a little when excited to meet a new dog, but only out of friendly enthusiasm. Her foster parents crate her when they leave her home alone to avoid her getting into mischief. Her foster mom describes her as medium energy—she’s playful and active but also respectful of the older dog in the home, knowing when to settle down and entertain herself with a toy or nap.  We think that Amelia would thrive in an active home with another playful pup and maybe some kids to romp around with. She’s a fantastic family dog just waiting for the perfect match. Apply today! Story
Meet Morgan! This sweet girl is a Hurricane Helena survivor whose life was turned upside down when her family lost their home. Living in a camper with two toddlers and other pets, they made the difficult decision to surrender Morgan so she could have a better chance at the life she deserves.  Morgan is a friendly, social pup who’s great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She’s loving, adaptable, and ready to start her next chapter with a forever family. Since arriving in her Carolina foster home just over a week ago, Morgan has adjusted beautifully. She’s living as an only dog and has shown she’s house-trained, quiet, and respectful of boundaries and belongings. She only hops on the couch when invited and is quickly picking up new routines. Like many young dogs, she can get a little excited and jump up to greet you, but she’s eager to learn and improving each day. Morgan’s foster mom describes her as an affectionate pup who loves giving kisses and always has a wagging tail for you. She has a moderate energy level, enjoys spending time outside, and is working on her leash manners. Morgan loves chasing balls and can entertain herself indoors with toys. She already knows commands like “sit” and “wait,” and while she can be a little mouthy at times, she responds well to gentle correction. Crate training is still a work in progress. While she sleeps soundly in her crate at night, she initially protested when crated during the day. However, she’s improving with each experience and learning to settle more quickly. In her previous home, Morgan lived with dogs, cats, and kids, and her confident, happy personality shines through. We think she’d thrive in a family with other pups or children to play with. If you’re looking for a sweet, social companion, Morgan might just be your girl. Apply today! (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.* Meet Lady Bird, your new Cuddler-in-Chief! At just 2 years old, Lady Bird is a petite Dachshund mix with a big heart and an even bigger belly rub quota. This sweet and snuggly little lady is all tail wags and love—she's happiest when she's curled up in your lap or gently nudging your hand for just one more pet. On leash, Lady Bird is a superstar—no pulling, just some joyful trotting and curious sniffing. She knows “sit,” takes treats like a true lady, and shines brightest when showered with affection (especially belly rubs—did we mention those are her favorite?). Lady Bird soars when it comes to car rides—she hops right in and loves a good window breeze. She’s also great with cats, showing just a bit of curiosity before moving on to more important matters…like finding the coziest nap spot. Although Lady Bird can be a bit shy when meeting new people, with a little patience, a lot of praise, and a gentle approach, she’ll soon be rolling over and asking for cuddles. If you're looking for a low-to-the-ground, high-on-love cuddle companion who will stick by your side, Lady Bird is ready to fly straight into your heart! Come meet this sweet little cutie today!
