Story
Meet Peyton! Peyton was part of an abandoned family of pups we rescued this winter. She and her mate, Woody, had been surviving outside in the bitter cold when we found them. Peyton was very pregnant and in need of immediate help. Thankfully, we got them to safety just in time for her to deliver her puppies in a warm, loving foster home. Now that her pups are weaned and she’s been spayed, Peyton is officially retired from motherhood and ready to begin her next chapter, finding a forever home of her own. Peyton has been in her local foster home for almost a month, living with her foster parents and two small dogs. She integrated easily into the pack and enjoys the company of other pups. She’s a young, playful girl who would love to have a canine companion in her new home to keep her company and share in her adventures. Kristin, her foster mom, describes Peyton as having a great personality. She can be a little shy at first, but with just a little attention, she settles in quickly and builds trust. She’s a fun little low rider who enjoys playing fetch and loves her toys. She's housetrained, crate-trained, and sleeps in her crate at night. She has a moderate energy level - she's happy romping around with her foster siblings, but also enjoys cuddling up on the couch for some downtime. She’s very enthusiastic about giving kisses, and Kristin is working with her on moderation. Peyton has started going on regular leash walks and seems to really enjoy them. She loves the outdoors and greets new people and dogs with ease. FOSTER MOM UPDATE - 5/4/25 "Peyton is super sweet, loves to cuddle, and watches out our front window, taking everything in. She’s a good eater and sleeps soundly through the night. She loves to give kisses, sometimes too much, so we are working on that. She's been great with our pack, and we've even had some playdates with neighborhood dogs. She would do best with a dog buddy who will play with her. She loves to run around and explore the yard with the other dogs. Petydon has done great with house training, no accidents at all, and enjoys her walks too. I have not noticed fear of traffic or cars that have gone by us while walking. She is more curious about people and wildlife. Otherwise, she is a pretty confident walker." ********* Peyton is a lovely little dog with goodwill toward everyone she meets. She’ll make a wonderful, affectionate companion, and a perfect pup buddy, too. Apply today!
