📌 Important Adoption Information All of our dogs are currently living in private shelters or foster homes in South Korea. Once an adoption is approved, dogs will travel to the United States through legal and approved international transport procedures. Video calls are available prior to adoption, and adopters can communicate with our rescue team in real time through our official organization and app-based messaging channels throughout the process. Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever! 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Please contact Emma Ohlsson (emma.ohlsson@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweetie seeking fresh start and love! MILO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Milo   Best Guess for Breed:   Dachshund and beagle mix  Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of December 2025     SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 16 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs!  We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations: Milo is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Milo is Looking For: Milo is a great little pup who is eager to see the world by the side of his new humans. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up - yes, please! Most of all, though, he wants to know where he belongs, that he's safe and loved for all his days.In exchange he promises all those adoring gazes and happy little tail wags he's storing up - and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Milo the one you see down there by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once he has spent time in foster care.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at    www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!    Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact    fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! Story
Name: Monkey Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 9 years old Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix Weight: About 15 lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats and all people (including kids)! Housebroken? She’s potty trained! Story: Monkey was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Monkey is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Monkey is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Monkey will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Monkey is just the sweetest. She’s potty trained and hasn't had any accidents in the apartment. She's done great with other dogs as well as cats at her temporary foster (!!). Monkey's favorite thing is belly rubs and meal times! Monkey doesn't need any fancy outdoor area (she’d be a great apartment dog), just your love, attention, and the occasional stroll around the neighborhood. Don't let her gray face fool you, though! Monkey has her bouts of energy where she still gets those zoomies and wants to play catch with her favorite mouse toy. She's also content with just sleeping and watching over what you're doing, and she's done fantastic alone as well at home whenever I run errands or am out with friends. My favorite thing about her is that she'll get under the covers and snuggle there the whole night, so if you ever wanted your own personal, soft heater, you'll find it in her. Just in time for the cold season ahead!  There is no fee to adopt Monkey thanks to a generous donation from one of our volunteers. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Story
Meet Marie! Marie is quite possibly the cutest, sweetest, most adorable little creature ever created. After more than 8 years in her home, Marie didn’t just arrive confused…she arrived distraught. She was surrendered to us in sorry shape: thin, with nails grown so long they curl, itchy, inflamed skin, and a coat so sparse it barely exists on her hind end and tail. And her teeth didn’t just fall out - they rotted away, leaving open holes from her gums up into her nasal cavity. This is severe dental disease that traps foot in her sinuses, causing horrific and painful infection. This doesn’t happen overnight. Marie is finally getting the medical care she so desperately needs, and making herself right at home with her foster family. She immediately got to work doing a full house inspection (very important business), had a big meal, and curled up in front of the fire in her very own Lamb Chop bed. She adores cuddling with her foster brothers and is an absolute angel for her medicated baths. She is also very comfortable voicing her opinions, commentary, and emotional thesis statements. Marie has some vision loss, but don’t let that fool you ~ she gets around just fine. She’s toothless but has a few oral–nasal fistulas, and absolutely does not let any of that slow her down. She hears well, is incredibly cuddly, and sweet as can be. And her bark? Low, raspy, and so unexpected it sounds like it’s coming from someone else entirely. Truly a jump scare every time. While Marie loves cudding, she doesn't mind staying home while her foster family is out. When they return, she meets them with a wagging tail and happy greetings. She is perfect with pee pads (10/10 potty professionalism), and has even taught her foster brother Brody an advanced maneuver: hiding behind foster mom’s back when she leans forward. A true mentor. Marie will eat anything you offer and scavenges food more efficiently than a Roomba. She prefers to keep tabs on foster mom at all times ~ following her room to room, or crying dramatically if temporarily stranded on the couch. Emotional support AND surveillance, she stands ready to offer. M Marie is ready to be your love bug, funny-noise specialist, and portable joy machine. Apply to meet her today! Marie is approximately 11 years old and 8 lbs. More details as we get to know her better. Fostered in Charles Town, WV Please apply at Mirishaven.org

Story
Pluto came to us from the Seattle Humane Society as a puppy. Pluto definitely is a character of his own and showed us that since the day he came to our home. He is sassy, hilarious, and very sweet. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs and loves his toys, especially his balls. Pluto has been professionally boarded and trained by K9 Ridgeside and does amazing on his leash. He knows the commands place, okay, come, home for his crate, and some fun tricks like spin, sit, paw, down, and look at me. He sits before he eats and knows to wait for his commands before walking out the door. He is doing great with loose leash walking and is great with kids. He would do amazing in a house with or without other dogs. He is crate, potty, and house trained as well. Pluto will come with his bed, crate and cover, food/water bowl, and his leash, collar, and harness. He does require a prong collar for his ongoing training, but we are willing to walk you through how to use it.
