Story
Meet Erin. Erin was rescued with her mom and siblings from a heartbreaking scenario in Chester, SC. Their owner, grappling with the loss of her husband to deportation and facing severe flooding on her property due to excessive rain, found herself unable to care for her pets. Sadly, the dogs were being kept outside in a pen that became submerged in water and debris, The owner called Animal Control for help and 9 dogs were removed from the property.  With local shelters already overwhelmed, multiple rescues stepped up to help and Worthy Dog took Erin and her sister, Kira, into our care. Erin has been in her foster home for a few months and fully acclimated to the comforts and rules of home life. From cozy beds and nourishing meals to daily walks and human companionship. She is crate-trained and housetrained and has discovered her passion for toys — simple pleasures she had never experienced before. She is being fostered in a home with a foster mom and dad, and two other dogs. She looks to the other dogs for guidance and loves to play. She is more confident as part of a pack. We are looking for a home with a pup buddy for her, and feel that's the best fit for this sweet girl. She's very sweet and connected to her pup pals.  Overall, Erin has a medium energy level but like all adolescents, she has spikes of energy and playfulness. She does very well with structure and direction. We checked in with her foster mom, Cynthia, for an update: FOSTER MOM UPDATE - 6/28/24 “Erin is such a sweetheart and a lot of fun! She's very cuddly with us and seeks us out for affection. She is also very connected to our dog, Trina. They play all the time and Erin likes to cuddle and groom her.  Overall she has a medium energy level but does love to play. She does pretty well on walks - still pulls - but is totally manageable. She is a little timid meeting new people but will warm up when given a little time and is totally fine. Erin leans more toward the submissive side and is very much a people-pleaser. She takes correction extremely well. For her age, she is a great balance of fun, playful, and full of zoomies but then will settle down and take a nap on her own. She can be a bit silly as well. She's also pretty brave. We joke that she's really into parkour because she will jump from one end of the couch to the other, to the ottoman, off the side of the couch, run into the other room, back, and repeat lol. She's not lacking it's personality and her family will have so many laughs and fun times with her. Erin’s favorite things include quality time with her people and playing with her bestie, Trina. She loves to snuggle with us on the couch and overall is a very happy girl.  This girl needs an owner with an active lifestyle. She's been great with dogs of all sizes and would love a playmate to entertain her. She brings so much happiness and so, so many laughs. I can't wait to see her as the center of somebody's world and she absolutely deserves to be that. She is going to bring soooo much joy to her future family!” ****** Need a sweet, fun pup in your life? Erin is your girl. She's done great with training, is a wonderful companion and pack member, and will be a fun, loving addition to your home.  Apply today! BREED ESTIMATE: Dachshund Mix GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~  11 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE:  ~ 10 mos old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped FOSTER LOCATION: Washington, DC (NW)   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. Story
Roxy is a funny little dog who is a lot of fun to have around. She is low maintenance, she loves going for long walks, and is always up for them (rain or shine). She loves walking around a fenced yard and really entertains herself just by exploring. She is super athletic she jumps on top of a 4 foot gate & walks on the top of it (on a skinny little metal pole) , so a fenced yard has to be pretty tall for her. It looks like she is a gymnast on a very skinny balance beam! She might be a great agility dog but unlike many dogs like that, she is not demanding. We joke because of her tough looks that she the is really a guardian angel disguised as small four-legged bouncer. She does not chew on things she shouldn't and goes outside of her run so we believe she is likely housetrained. If you are interested in Roxy please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Roxy! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=17424 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Roxy, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

Story
Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m Diablo, a 3 year old, 25 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements. I am looking for a forever home that is patient and loving. I believe I’m housetrained, but I may need a refresher. I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world.  I am very high energy so will do best in a home with people that are active and can give me plenty of exercise! Also, a home with people that are home often would be nice too because I tend to get attached to my people. They make me feel safe! I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart once I trust someone. Are you that forever trustworthy person I’m looking for?! ##2039331##

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. YOSHI is as cute as his pictures. He is absolutely personality PLUS!!! DOB: 2/6/24. The people we got him from said that he was Dachshund, Poodle, and Schnauzer. He is currently only 4.5# and by his rate of growth I don’t expect him to get more than 5# or 6#s. You can watch his YouTube Videos and see how playful he is… HE IS NOT SHY! He can hold his own with dogs much larger than he is…and he asks for it. We are hoping to place him in a home that has another dog (preferably small) that he can play with. He’s really a HAPPY CAMPER!!! Yoshi will let you catch him (so many small dogs are shy and run away) and loves “Love Pats.” He also loves treats. He is not yet house trained…I have too many dogs and not enough room or time. We do NOT want to adopt to families with small children. It is dangerous for both the child and the dog. Check out our YouTube Videos. The other puppy in the video is already adopted.
