Ellie Mae is a sweet, loving 5-year-old Australian Kelpie/herding breed mix who has spent far too much of her life waiting for a forever home. She first came to the shelter when she was about a year old and was later adopted, but sadly returned through no fault of her own when her owner moved into a nursing home. Ellie Mae has now been back at the shelter for about six months.She loves pets, belly rubs, toys, and running around the play yard. She's a silly girl who even likes carrying her food bowl around! Ellie Mae can be a little particular about her dog friends because of her strong herding instincts, so she may do best as the only pet in the home. She isn't especially interested in walks, but she does enjoy getting out in the yard and staying active.Ellie Mae is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for the loving, stable home she's been waiting for.

Copper is a sweet and energetic 4-year-old Heeler mix who loves people, walks, and especially anything involving water! He can spend hours chasing water from the hose and having fun outside. Copper is great on a leash and enjoys being active, but he's also a sweetheart who loves attention and getting pets. He gets along with some dogs, although he would do best with a proper meet-and-greet to make sure he's a good match. Copper is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home.

Story

Richie truly is a wonderful dog, he's about 3 years old. We fostered to adopt him from our local animal shelter and although he was scared at first, he eventually warmed up to us. He's sweet, listens and minds us. He's conscientious, has a nice even temperament and takes treats gently. He's smart, knows basic commands and also knows how to open the security screen door using the stick handle. He loves playing with water like a wading pool or the hose water. He also loves to play with other dogs and is really good with our dogs and our small dogs too. He's quiet but will bark when necessary. He's also good on a leash and he's good in the car. He has a gorgeous, smooth, black coat that doesn't seem to shed. The only reason we can't keep him is that he's not good with cats and we're cat people. If it wasn't for that he'd be perfect for us because he's so great in every other way. We don't want to take him back to the shelter. We love him so much and hope to find the best home for him 💙

Sweet senior looking for forever home!Julep is located in a foster home in southeast Arizona, between Benson and Willcox. She is approximately 2 1/2 hours from Tempe or one hour east of Tucson. 'Julep is a senior female dog with a lot of love to give. She is an intelligent, quiet, and independent dog with a dignified and gentle demeanor. Julep weighs only 48 pounds, and she is 11 years old. Tis sweet girl was in the county shelter and the wonderful employees contacted Fedwell Farm since we do a lot of seniors. We are so happy she is here, she seems so happy to be in a home and loves to roll on the grass! Julep is affectionate and loves to be around people. She could be an apartment dog, watching Animal Planet while her family is at work or school. She enjoys lounging on the couch and rolling in the grass. . She is very curious and likes to sniff around new places and people. She is also loyal to her loved ones and will always be by your side. Julep is brave, she walked into her foster home like she owned the place within a few minutes of her arrival. She walked right through the 10 other dogs in her foster family. She also knew how to use the dog door. She is looking for a calm and peaceful home to retire in where she will be showered with love and affection. Freya is a loving, affectionate girl looking for a very special home. She loves cuddling on the couch, toys, chew toys and stuffies, and she's generally quiet and happiest close to her person. She has lived around cats and livestock without concerning behavior or an apparent prey drive. She has also lived successfully with certain dogs, but due to serious incidents with another dog, an experienced only-dog home is strongly preferred. Freya struggles with anxiety and high arousal and will need someone with the time, patience and resources for training, behavioral work and veterinary guidance. She has been loving with me but can become protective of her person, so careful introductions are important. Full behavioral/medical history will be disclosed. She has so much life and love to give, but she is not an easy dog and needs a committed, experienced person. I can travel/work with transport for the right home. If placement doesn't work out, Freya must be returned to me. ❤️
