Story
Freya is a very sweet-tempered and affectionate 4 year old German Shepherd in need of a home. She has lived with another German Shepherd and her owner for her whole life, but unfortunately her owner (my family member) is moving and cannot have his pets with him. I do not have a fenced yard and therefore cannot take her or else I would. She has absolutely no aggressive tendencies or biting issues and is friendly with adults, children and other dogs. She is extremely playful and loves to run and chase after her ball. We are looking for a loving and caring home for her, thank you.

Story
Daisy was adopted in 2022 and just turned 4 on May 5th. She is loving, gentle with my toddler, loves to run around and can play fetch for hours. She is crate trained and mostly house trained, however she does pee when she is excited or when submitting. Daisy is an amazingly sweet dog and we wish we could keep her but we can't provide the life she deserves (walks, yard, training, playtime etc.)

Story
Jolly Pasquale Please like and share. Thank you. Represented by: KenMar Rescue Contact: info@kenmarrescue.org Jolly Pasquale is apx 4 years young. He is a low to no shedding, hypoallergenic Shih Tzu blend. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date with all shots, dewormed, given monthly flea treatment and weighs apx 15 lbs. He is at his ideal weight and is fully grown. Jolly Pasquale is a happy and friendly pup that loves spending time with his humans, walks, playing, and snacking on treats. He is a friend to everyone he meets (even our groomer!) and gives them doggie hugs and lots of tail wags. He is active, loves to be read to, and is quite clever at learning new things. Backstory: Jolly Pasquale was brought into the shelter with other siblings when his caregiver was taken to the hospital and did not return. Neighbors fed him and his pack until the shelter had enough space to take them all in. KenMar Rescue moved forward with the call for help and rescued him. Obsession: Learning about all the good things in life like basking in the shade, playing with toys and spa days. Favorite food: Hard boiled eggs and rotisserie chicken Pet peeve: Afraid to sleep alone. Known accomplices: The squirrels on “squirrel patrol.” Naughtiest deed: Plucking the stuffing out of the squeaker toys. Favorite pastime: Cozy time with his humans. *** Pasquale additional details: The following information is the most recent update we have received from Pasquale’s foster parents. We have made this information available to help you, our adopters, learn more about Pasquale prior to submitting an Adoption Application or inquiring about a “Meet & Greet.” Please read thoroughly before reaching out to us—this will help reduce the number of emails we receive every day and in turn, allow us to respond to the emails we do receive more quickly! Please note that a dog's behavior often varies from one environment to another, and a decompression period in a new environment can last days to months. General Personality: Pasquale is shy with new people but will usually let them pet him after sniffing. Can be food possessive. Daily Routine: 8:00am- go out for pee 8:30am- eat 9:00am- cuddles 10:00am- play! 12:00pm- snacks 2:00 nap 4:00 play 5:30- dinner 6:00pm- go out for pee 7:00pm- tv time and wind down 9:00-10:00- bed time Housebroken? Pasquale prefers grass and is given plenty of access to relieve himself outside. House Training Progress: Pasquale will let you know when he needs to go potty outside but will require some guidance on the layout of his new home’s floor plan so as to navigate how to find you and how to exit to the grass area. Behavior Around Dogs, Cats, or Kids: Pasquale is good with small, gentle dogs. Curious at first but then engages in play. He is submissive but can become agitated or reactive around big dogs. The foster home he is in does not have cats or children. Energy Rating (1 = very high; 5 = very low): 2 Leash Walking Rating (1 = difficult; 5 = perfect): 2 Leash Behaviors: Does better with short walks. Needs patience, redirection and attention with longer walks. Slowly learning the harness and leash routine. Does the dog sleep through the night? Yes, especially if fatigued due to playtime. Prefers to sleep in an area where he can feel the presence of his humans to watch over them. Other Quirks: Pasquale likes to be at your feet when you are working from home. That’s his favorite spot. He wants to be the best helper. What makes him/her happy? Attention, food, patience, training, mental, social and physical activities. The usual stuff that makes every being happy. What makes him/her nervous or unhappy? Sleeping alone at night or missing out on a chance to go somewhere. Other Displayed Behaviors: Both new groomer and private vet gave him high marks for first visit interactions. Pasquale’s private vet gave him a clear bill of health, said he is at his ideal weight. Current Walking Device: Leash, harness and collar Currently Eating: Taste of the Wild Bison kibble with one smashed hard boiled egg and small spoonful of canned pumpkin at each meal. This is augmented randomly with boiled chicken or steak as available. Jolly Pasquale is fed twice a day with healthy snacks in between. *** KenMar Rescue is a 501c3 charitable organization. Donations go towards the care and feeding of our orphans. The adoption donation is $500 and used directly to save future orphans. Application review is followed by a phone call if approved. Home checks are done via FaceTime or Zoom prior to each adoption. *** More about KenMar Rescue… TV Appearances: Our orphans have been featured on various shows such as this one, K9 Corner, and consistently invited to "Good Day LA" Pet segments: https://youtu.be/7ZQJZ8Um-Jo *** KenMar Rescue Yelp Reviews https://yelp.to/dr4UlKdAmF *** Additional Media: Somewhat dated video about us.  KenMar Rescue has saved close to 2,000 lives since our founding in 2007 https://youtu.be/R-mnilY2Yik?si=XyQUrv3ar67EmEgg Please note: ❤️We prefer ADULTS, no small kids, (gentle, animal-friendly/respectful teens ok).   ❤️We prefer HOME OWNERS with a SECURED YARD. ❤️We will ask you about your Succession Plan.  Meaning, in the event that you are no longer able to provide for your new family member: who will get the dog, where is this stated in writing, etc. The Successor person will be asked to participate in the adoption process (zoom calls, in-person meeting, etc.) so they are part of the decision-making from the beginning and are aware of the orphan’s needs. ❤️We are located 2.5 hrs east of San Francisco (towards Yosemite). Please consider transportation logistics to meet (and possibly adopt) your new family member. Also, if things do not work out, please bear in mind that you would be responsible to return the orphan back to us. ❤️Vet, petsitting, future medical expenses, etc., for the life of the pet will be your responsibility. As pet parents, please consider these commitments before applying. *** If you are interested in submitting an adoption application for Jolly Pasquale, please email: info@KenMarRescue.org and write “Request for Adoption Application for Jolly Pasquale,” in the subject line.

Story
Gibby has a bit of a rough past. He was used in a Doodle breeding operation and didn't get much socializing, so new situations, people, and animals can be overwhelming to him. With time and patience, Gibby does come around, but naturally has a cautious and timid nature. He would love a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of hustle of bustle where he can relax and enjoy a slower pace to life. A nice yard to hang out in would be a bonus! If you have some TLC to offer a little guy like Gibby, come to the shelter to meet him! **Gibby has fur that will require regular grooming appointments every 6-8 weeks to avoid tangling, overgrowth, and matting. Please be prepared to have a groomer and be able to cover the extra financial responsibility that comes with it during his lifetime.** Gibby is approximately 4 years old and weighs 18 pounds. All dogs/puppies will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated according to age, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention before adoption unless otherwise noted for age or health reasons.
