Story
Meet Turtle! 🖤🐾 With his sleek, shiny black coat and expressive amber eyes, Turtle is as handsome as he is entertaining. This teenage pup is full of energy, curiosity, and always ready for his next adventure. If there's one thing Turtle loves more than anything, it's toys—especially the soft, fabric kind! He's even mastered the art of playing by himself, happily tossing his toys into the air and pouncing after them, turning any room into his own personal playground. When he's not busy inventing games, Turtle loves spending time with his people. He enjoys a good pet, and is always ready for fun. He's also incredibly food motivated, so if you've got treats, you'll have his full attention! If you're looking for a playful, active companion with a goofy personality and endless enthusiasm, Turtle is ready to bring fun, and plenty of toy-tossing entertainment to your home.

Story
Meet Wally! At 9 years old, Wally may be a mature gentleman, but don't let that fool you — he's still got plenty of spunk left in him! This handsome Husky has a whole lot of love to give and thrives on being close to his people, whether that means cuddling up on the couch or heading outdoors for an adventure. Wally has a special love for the water and lights up at the chance to swim in the river. He also gets along well with other dogs, especially when paired with a calm, steady playmate who can match his classic Husky energy. Wally gets along great with people of all kinds and is good with kids under supervision — really, all he wants is pets and treats, please and thank you! Wally isn't quite as high-energy as he used to be — these days, a solid bit of exercise is enough to leave him happily worn out and ready to relax for the rest of the day. Because he's a true Husky at heart, Wally does best with someone who understands the breed and can offer steady structure and companionship. He's happiest when he's not left alone for long stretches and will need a few bathroom breaks throughout the day. More than anything, this dashing older gentleman is looking for a family who can give him the love, attention, and stability he needs to truly thrive in his golden years.

Story
Hello Wood River Valley friends and beyond! Moe here, coming to tell you that I'm ready and excited to be adopted! I am a fun loving big dude and perfect for adventures. Not only do I love hiking, walks and playing in water but I love making friends with other dogs. (I would really prefer a house with another dog to romp around with...maybe even two!) Being with another dog and getting regular exercise definitely helps me remember my manners. That is sometimes hard (since I still think I'm a puppy sometimes) so I would do best without kids in the home because I don't want to accidently knock them over. I am pretty dang smart but I know I would love to learn more! (I'm so cool and smart that the Mountain Humane behavior team is giving you a free lesson when you adopt me!) I've lived in a home before, so the folks at Mountain Humane know a lot about me and how to best set me up for success. Please give us a call and the team here would love to tell you all about me and answer any questions you may have! (And I hope you love what you hear and will want to come and meet me!)

Story
Meet Lolly! 🐶💖 With my athletic build, short little legs, and stunning smile, I am ready to find my forever family! I'm a truly sweet girl — as sweet as a lollipop, in fact! — who has been blossoming more and more every day. I used to be shy in new environments, but I've been slowly coming out of my shell and gaining confidence. I do great on walks and have even joined the pack for Hikin' Buddies and Mike Hikes, where I've shown off just how good I am at exploring the great outdoors. But don't let my adventurous side fool you — I'm also a total couch potato at heart! I love snuggling up with my favorite humans in the Real Life Room, where I can relax on a comfy couch and soak up all the attention. I really am the best of both worlds: an active girl who's eager to explore, and a homebody who just wants to cuddle. I'm great with people and love getting attention from my favorite humans. While I'm still taking my first strides in making friends with other dogs — like my new pal Waffles here at the shelter — my play style is already so fun to watch! I'd likely do best as the only dog in my home for now, but I'll keep working on my social skills and we'll see where that journey takes me! Give me a chance to settle in, and I promise to be the most loyal, affectionate friend you've ever had!
