Story
This gorgeous girl is aptly named Potato due to her spud-like physique. Potato is estimated to be around 12 years old and she came to us after her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of her. Potato came to us at a hefty 45 lbs and is now currently 35 lbs! She's looking for a family who will help her maintain her healthy lifestyle.  Potato is used to having someone home most of the day, so she would greatly benefit from an adopter who is retired or works from home. She loves her people greatly and experiences some separation anxiety when she is left alone. Potato is fostered with children and other dogs and does great. She's a chunky girl who loves her food and would benefit from being separated while feeding. Watch Potato in action here: https://youtube.com/shorts/gqFwlgUEKOYhttps://youtube.com/shorts/vEdWPdeYqKU House trained: Yes Leash trained: Yes. She loves going on walks! She'll get excited if we pass other dogs and try to go towards them. But she really doesn't move to fast and she's easy to control.Kennel trained: No - she does not like her kennel, and she's not destructive when left out.Rides well in a car: Yep, she's happy to go on car rides.Good with other dogs: Yes - she can be a bit of a bully to small dogs but does well with medium/large dogs Good with cats: Not fostered with cats, but we think she'd do fine.Good with young children (under 10): Yes, she's fostered with kids under 5 - does best with children who will respect her boundaries Shy or confident: Confident. She's not shy with visitors and will approach them for attention.Barks: YesApartment qualified: No due to separation anxiety barking Special needs or health concerns: Potato recently had a dental cleaning and senior bloodwork. Everything looks age-appropriate! She might have some diminished hearing but it doesn't impact her day-to-day. We believe Potato is a small/medium-sized mix and is around 12 years old. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If you’re interested in adopting this puppy/dog, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). Story
Say hi to Cleo! At 15 lbs and 1.5 years old, Cleo is a great little dog. She loves people and is happy to be a part of the party. She has shown great house manners in her foster home, going potty outside, adjusting to sleeping in a kennel, and chewing on appropriate toys. Cleo is affectionate and will hop onto the couch to snuggle with you as you settle in for some TV. Cleo is not fostered with cats or kids, so we can't say for certain how she would do around them. She jumps some, so we would suggest an adults-only home or a family with older children would be best. Cleo enjoys the company of the mellow dogs in her foster home but has also been known to have "little dog syndrome" where she tries to pick fights.  House trained: YesLeash trained: YesKennel trained: Yes - barks a little at first, but getting betterRides well in a car: YesGood with other dogs: Does well with calm, non-reactive dogs in her foster home but is definitely an instigator.Good with cats: Unknown Good with young children (under 10): Would do best with older kidsShy or confident: Shy/unsure initially but warms up quickly Barks: Sometimes in kennel or if dogs around her are barking Apartment qualified: Right now no, due to some barking Health concerns or special needs: None  We believe Cleo is a pomeranian mix and was born around 7-1-2024. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $300 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Story
Meet Jack, a regal gentleman with a puppy’s heart! Weighing in at about 100 pounds, Jack is a big, noble boy whose gentle nature makes him truly special. Despite his impressive size, Jack is incredibly sweet and patient. He does wonderfully with other dogs and is fantastic with children—even newborns. His calm demeanor, kind spirit, and impeccable house manners make him an easy and lovable companion to have around. Jack doesn’t bark much, greets strangers like old friends, and carries himself with a quiet confidence that matches his statuesque good looks. One look into his soulful eyes and you’ll understand why everyone falls for him. Jack has attended doggy daycare a few times and always receives glowing reports for being playful and social with dogs of all sizes and ages. He enjoys making friends and would likely thrive in a home with another friendly dog. He hasn’t been exposed to cats that we know of, so a slow introduction would be recommended if there are feline friends in the home. Jack would love a home with a yard where he can stretch his long legs and enjoy the outdoors. Because of his size and enthusiasm, he does need a bit more training on leash walking—he’s strong and sometimes likes to pull—but he’s a smart boy who will do well with guidance and consistency. Jack originally joined our rescue as a tiny 3-month-old puppy and was adopted with his sister, Winnie. Sadly, the family’s young child developed respiratory difficulties related to a dog allergy, and they were heartbroken to return them. Jack would absolutely love to be adopted alongside Winnie again, but it isn’t required. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle giant with a playful spirit and a heart full of love, Jack might just be the perfect addition to your family. Jack is a male Labrador Retriever/Great Pyreness who was was born 10-1-24 and currently weighs 100.6 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, tested heartworm negative and given heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Our Adoption Team will respond via email from DollysLegacyAdoptions@gmail.com once you have completed an application. If a pet is still listed, it is not yet adopted as we update daily. Story
Rosie is the perfect mix of love, loyalty, and spunk, with a big personality that shines through in everything she does. She’s expressive and affectionate—nudging for attention, curling up beside you on the couch, or even squeezing between your legs for a stand-up snuggle-hug—and she’ll “talk” like Scooby-Doo when she has something on her mind. Smart and eager to please, Rosie learned “sit” right away and is very trainable with food or affection. She’s completely housetrained, can hold her bladder all day, and does well left loose in the home. Rosie enjoys walks and dog-park play, but she likes to be in charge and can resource guard food, water, or toys, so she’ll thrive with an experienced owner who can set clear boundaries. She’ll do best in a cat-free home and with children over 10, since she’s protective of her family and can get mouthy when she plays. Rosie is also a vocal girl—she’ll bark to alert you of visitors and keen for a few minutes when left alone—so she needs a home where her voice won’t be a problem, though her big bark makes her a reassuring walking companion. She is finishing up heartworm treatment and will soon be ready to shower her forever family with devotion, fun, and the warm, wiggly love she brings to everyone she meets. ✅ Loves to play & be active ✅ National Canine Karaoke Champion - no apartments ✅ Fenced yard preferred for ample romp time Rosie was found as a starving young mother dog with four puppies that she was desperately trying to care for. She was brought into rescue along with her beautiful babies who have all been adopted. Now it's mama's turn for her happy ever after! Rosie is a Foxhound who was was born approximately 6-01-23 and weighs 75 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Rosie has completed heartworm treatment and must remain on monthly heartworm preventative (as all dogs should) and needs an adopter who will commit to being ontop of that for her. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Story
Meet Winnie, a beautiful young lady with a loving heart who is ready to find her perfect match! Winnie is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely adores people—especially children and babies. She’s incredibly gentle and curious, often wanting to be close so she can see what everyone is up to. In fact, she’s known as our little “nosey” girl because she loves checking in on the family, especially the baby, to make sure she’s part of the action. Winnie gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She has attended doggy daycare a few times and always receives great reports for being social and playful. She especially enjoys playing with other dogs through the fence and loves having canine friends around. She may bark when she sees other dogs or strangers like delivery drivers, but it’s simply her way of saying hello—she’s not aggressive at all. This affectionate girl is also a world-class cuddler. Winnie loves nothing more than curling up next to her people or resting her head on you for some extra love. She has a charming little quirk too—she sometimes collects rocks and proudly brings them to her humans like tiny treasures she’s found. Winnie is still working on her leash skills and would benefit from some continued training, but she’s a smart young dog who will thrive with patience and guidance. She would love a yard where she can stretch her legs and freely romp & play. Winnie originally came to our rescue as a tiny 3-month-old puppy and was adopted along with her brother, Jack. Sadly, the family’s young child developed respiratory difficulties due to a dog allergy, and they were heartbroken to return them. Winnie would absolutely love to be adopted with Jack again, but it’s not required. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you company, make you laugh, and shower you with cuddles, Winnie may just be the perfect addition to your family. Winnie is a female Great Pyrenees/Yellow Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd who was was born 10-1-24 and currently weighs 78.6 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, tested heartworm negative and given heartworm prevention. Story
If you’ve ever thought, “I just want an easy dog,” Bonnie would like to submit her résumé. Medium-sized, beautifully mannered, and refreshingly chill, Bonnie is officially done with her kennel-era storyline and ready for her soft-launch into forever home life. She doesn’t need chaos. She doesn’t need constant stimulation. She just wants to see what you’re doing — and quietly join you. Going to the kitchen? She’ll supervise. Folding laundry? She’ll monitor. Watching TV? She’ll settle nearby like a warm, steady presence. Bonnie is a no-drama companion. She keeps herself occupied with toys and bones, walks politely on leash, and has impeccable house manners. She’s fully potty trained, kennel trained, and incredibly easy to live with. Outside is her happy place — nose down, tail wagging, taking in the world one scent at a time. While a fenced yard isn’t required, it would absolutely make her day. She’s not flashy. She’s not chaotic. She’s steady, loyal, and deeply content just being someone’s dog. The Bonnie Breakdown Energy Level: Chill with a side of curious explorer Leash Skills: Walks like a lady Housetrained: Yes Kennel Trained: Yes Favorite Hobby: Following her human from room to room Special Skill: Entertaining herself while you work Overall Vibe: Easy. Steady. Loyal. The Ideal Forever Home Bonnie would truly thrive as the only dog in the home. While she can be selective with canine friends, she doesn’t need other dogs to feel fulfilled — her person is more than enough. She’s looking for a home where she can bond deeply, settle into routine, and be someone’s quiet, constant companion. A Quick Health Note Bonnie has undergone heartworm treatment and will need to stay on lifelong prevention — something all dogs should be on anyway. She’s otherwise a happy, easygoing girl, and she’s handling everything like the resilient queen she is. Her future is bright, and she’s ready for it. Three Things You Must Know About Bonnie: She is fully housetrained and kennel trained with excellent indoor manners. She’d shine brightest as your one-and-only, bonding deeply with her person. She loves outdoor exploring and would enjoy a fenced yard. Bonnie is a female Plott Hound/Mountain Cur mix (our best guess of breeds) who was was born approximately 8-22-20 and weighs 52 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, provided life-saving heartworm treatment, and will need to be kept on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $300 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs.
