Story
This gorgeous girl is aptly named Potato due to her spud-like physique. Potato is estimated to be around 12 years old and she came to us after her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of her. Potato came to us at a hefty 45 lbs and is now currently 35 lbs! She's looking for a family who will help her maintain her healthy lifestyle.  Potato is used to having someone home most of the day, so she would greatly benefit from an adopter who is retired or works from home. She loves her people greatly and experiences some separation anxiety when she is left alone. Potato is fostered with children and other dogs and does great. She's a chunky girl who loves her food and would benefit from being separated while feeding. Watch Potato in action here: https://youtube.com/shorts/gqFwlgUEKOYhttps://youtube.com/shorts/vEdWPdeYqKU House trained: Yes Leash trained: Yes. She loves going on walks! She'll get excited if we pass other dogs and try to go towards them. But she really doesn't move to fast and she's easy to control.Kennel trained: No - she does not like her kennel, and she's not destructive when left out.Rides well in a car: Yep, she's happy to go on car rides.Good with other dogs: Yes - she can be a bit of a bully to small dogs but does well with medium/large dogs Good with cats: Not fostered with cats, but we think she'd do fine.Good with young children (under 10): Yes, she's fostered with kids under 5 - does best with children who will respect her boundaries Shy or confident: Confident. She's not shy with visitors and will approach them for attention.Barks: YesApartment qualified: No due to separation anxiety barking Special needs or health concerns: Potato recently had a dental cleaning and senior bloodwork. Everything looks age-appropriate! She might have some diminished hearing but it doesn't impact her day-to-day. We believe Potato is a small/medium-sized mix and is around 12 years old. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If you’re interested in adopting this puppy/dog, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). We are 100% volunteer staffed and will respond to your email as soon as possible. After you have submitted an and been approved, we will set up a meet and greet between you and the puppy/dog. Story
Raven absolutely enjoys spending time outside, playing ball, and swimming. If you can get her worn down, she is a great lap dog. The only trick she knows is to sit and she will sit while you get her food ready. We don't give her table scraps so she does not beg which is great for when you have guests over! She is a great guard dog as she will bark if there are people at the door. She is not a huge fan of kids running or kids on bikes, becasue of this, we are looking for a family with older kids or no kids. It takes Raven a while to warm up to new people and could be intimidating, but once you make friends with her she will love you. Raven will self entertain when she is inside/outside by finding toys to play with and is not overly needy. Raven is AKC certified and both parents were hunting dogs. This puppy/dog is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $300 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If this pet is under 6 months old, it may still need to be spayed/neutered. This procedure is scheduled through Brave by the age of 6 months and the cost is covered through the adoption fee. Story
Meet Rosie, the sweetest Brave girl! Found as a stray, she was very nervous and fearful when she came to us. She is still be reserved when meeting new people and placed in new situations, so introducting new people and places needs to be taken slowly. Rosie would do best in a calm home that has adults or kids age 10 and older. Other dogs in the house would ideally be couch potatos who will for the most part leave her alone. Rosie is a cuddle bug and relies on her person for confidence and reassurance.  Rosie has come a long way in her foster home, gaining confidence and learning to be a house dog. Her ideal home would be patient and loving, giving her time to come out of her shell. If you can give her that, her true sweet personality will shine though with stability and she will thrive! Give Rosie a chance! You’ll find that she will follow you everywhere and always curl up next to you! She's a big lover!  House trained: Yes, if taken out on a schedule/regular basis. At this time she prefers to be walked for potty time as opposed to let out in the backyard Leash trained: YesKennel trained: Yes Rides well in a car: Yes, does get a little nervous Good with other dogs: Yes, calm dogsGood with cats: YesGood with young children (under 10): recommend older children due to timid behavior Shy or confident: Shy and timid at first meeting Barks: Yes at strangers, loud noises, and unfamiliar dogs. Apartment qualified: No due to breedHealth concerns or special needs: No We believe this puppy/dog is a Heeler mix and is about 4 years old. Story
If you want someone who acts like you’ve been gone for years every time you come home—Enzo is your guy. This little bundle of joy somehow goes a million miles an hour without actually moving, wiggling with excitement the second he sees his people. And then? The moment you sit down, he transforms into a full-time lap dog, ready for belly rubs and snuggles. Enzo is incredibly friendly and loves everyone he meets—kids, dogs, you name it. He’s even pretty unbothered by cats. He’s soft, small, portable, and happiest when he’s as close to you as physically possible (ideally under your chin, nuzzled into your neck like he’s still in the honeymoon phase of a relationship). He also loves sleeping in bed with his humans and will absolutely claim his spot. He’s crate trained and does well while his people are away. He’s picked up potty training quickly, though he may need a little encouragement to head outside in the mornings—he’d much rather stay cuddled up with you. Enzo is also working on leash walking… and let’s just say it’s a journey. He started by becoming one with the ground, then graduated to slithering like a snake, and now will walk until he feels pressure and dramatically sits to reassess life choices. Walking with another dog helps, and he’s making progress every day. A fenced yard would be ideal while he continues learning leash skills. He may need a belly band initially in a new home as he adjusts, but he has already shown that he can settle in quickly and move past marking behaviors. Enzo isn’t exactly an athlete—he tries to jump like he’s in an action movie but often ends up more like a cat-fail compilation. Stairs? Suspicious at best. But what he lacks in coordination, he more than makes up for in charm, affection, and pure joy. He’s not just a good boy—he’s the best boy. ✨ Three Things You Must Know About Enzo: He is incredibly affectionate—a true velcro dog who wants to be as close to you as possible. He’s still learning leash skills, so patience (and ideally a fenced yard) will help him succeed. He thrives on companionship, great with dogs, kids, and happy to be part of everything you do. Enzo is a male Rat Terrier/Dachshund mix who was was born approximately 3-31-24 and currently weighs 11 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, tested heartworm negative and given heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Story
Some dogs are best friends. Azula and Juno are sisters, teammates, and lifelong co-stars — affectionately known as “The Hams” (and yes, they respond when you call them that 😉). These bonded corgi girls have never been apart, and they don’t plan to start now. Well-trained, playful, and full of personality, they are the perfect mix of brains, bounce, and heart. They love water (yes, water-loving corgis!), enjoy long walks, and are happiest when they’re outside exploring, wrestling, and working together to tire themselves out. Azula and Juno are social butterflies in sturdy little bodies — they love dogs of all sizes and are confident, friendly companions. They do best with children over 10, as they are active and enthusiastic in true herding-dog fashion. Speaking of herding… if you have cats, please know that supervising feline activity is something they consider a full-time career. It’s less “aggression” and more “occupational dedication.” And while they are energetic and playful, they also hold the title of Best Snugglers. After playtime, “The Hams” happily collapse into cozy, affectionate cuddle mode together — and preferably with you. These girls are well-loved and well-trained. They are ready to bring joy, structure, laughter, and twice the loyalty to the right forever home. Why Adopt a Bonded Pair? Because you’re not getting twice the chaos — you’re getting built-in balance. Azula and Juno entertain each other, exercise each other, and provide comfort to one another. They wrestle, zoom, and burn off energy together, then settle down side by side. They transition more smoothly because they already have their constant. For many adopters, bonded pairs like these two are actually easier — especially when they’re already trained, social, and emotionally stable. You don’t just adopt two dogs, you adopt a ready-made team. The Azula & Juno Breakdown Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgis Bonded Pair: Yes — must be adopted together Nickname: “The Hams” Energy Level: Active & Playful Leash Skills: Enjoy walks Training: Well-trained Dog Compatibility: Love dogs of all sizes Cat Compatibility: Will enthusiastically herd them Kid Compatibility: Best with kids 12+ Favorite Hobby: Outdoor play, water adventures, and tiring each other out Overall Vibe: Athletic, joyful, snuggly dynamic duo Azula & Juno are female Welsh Pembroke Corgis who were born 3-22-23. They are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick/heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $800 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs.
