Story
Spicy is a tiny hairless Chinese Crested. She weighs 11 lbs. Spicy was rescued from Arizona several years ago. She had been abused. My Aunt took her in and spoiled her. However, Spicy became VERY attached to my Aunts caregiver, Pam Brinkman. Pam passed away several months ago. My Aunt is no longer able to care for Spicy and has to move to assisted living. Spicy loves cuddling. She prefers 1-2 adults. She is not fond of little kids. She is very much a lap dog. She will need to be retrained to go outside because my aunt was using pee pads when she could no longer take her outside. Pam always went out with her. Spicy comes with a complete wardrobe of pajamas and clothes! She loves being dressed up. Also included will be her bed, blankets and toys. We love her dearly, she is such a loving spunky dog with a lot of personality. But my aunts health is failing and Spicy deserves a human who will give her the love she needs.

Story
This gorgeous girl is aptly named Potato due to her spud-like physique. Potato is estimated to be around 12 years old and she came to us after her elderly owner was no longer able to take care of her. Potato came to us at a hefty 45 lbs and is now currently 35 lbs! She's looking for a family who will help her maintain her healthy lifestyle.  Potato is used to having someone home most of the day, so she would greatly benefit from an adopter who is retired or works from home. She loves her people greatly and experiences some separation anxiety when she is left alone. Potato is fostered with children and other dogs and does great. She's a chunky girl who loves her food and would benefit from being separated while feeding (so she doesn't try to fight for her fur siblings' food)!  Watch Potato in action here: https://youtube.com/shorts/gqFwlgUEKOYhttps://youtube.com/shorts/vEdWPdeYqKU House trained: Yes - expect an adjustment period, but she's doing great! Leash trained: Yes. She loves going on walks! She'll get excited if we pass other dogs and try to go towards them. But she really doesn't move to fast and she's easy to control.Kennel trained: No - she does not like her kennel, but she's not destructive.Rides well in a car: Yep, she's happy to go on car rides.Good with other dogs: Yes - she can be a bit of a bully to small dogs but does well with medium/large dogs Good with cats: Not fostered with cats, but we think she'd do fine.Good with young children (under 10): Yes, she's fostered with kids under 5 Shy or confident: Confident. She's not shy with visitors and will approach them for attention.Barks: Yes, if "her person" has left. If "her person" is with her, she's as quiet as a mouseApartment qualified: No due to separation anxiety barking Special needs or health concerns: Potato recently had a dental cleaning and senior bloodwork. Everything looks age-appropriate! She might have some diminished hearing but it doesn't impact her day-to-day. We believe Potato is a small/medium-sized mix and is around 12 years old. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $200 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Adoptable pets will have received age-appropriate vaccines and dewormings, a microchip, heartworm test (if applicable) and a spay/neuter. If you’re interested in adopting this puppy/dog, please submit an inquiry or email BraveAnimalRescue@gmail.com to ask about our adoption process (please check your spam or junk email if you do not hear back from us within a few business days). We are 100% volunteer staffed and will respond to your email as soon as possible. After you have submitted an and been approved, we will set up a meet and greet between you and the puppy/dog. Story
Say hi to Cleo! At 15 lbs and 1.5 years old, Cleo is a great little dog. She loves people and is happy to be a part of the party. She has shown great house manners in her foster home, going potty outside, adjusting to sleeping in a kennel, and chewing on appropriate toys. Cleo is affectionate and will hop onto the couch to snuggle with you as you settle in for some TV. Cleo is not fostered with cats or kids, so we can't say for certain how she would do around them. She jumps some, so we would suggest an adults-only home or a family with older children would be best. Cleo enjoys the company of the mellow dogs in her foster home but has also been known to have "little dog syndrome" where she tries to pick fights. Because of this, we would prefer for her to be the only dog in the home.  House trained: YesLeash trained: YesKennel trained: Yes - barks a little at first, but getting betterRides well in a car: YesGood with other dogs: Does well with calm, non-reactive dogs in her foster home but is definitely an instigator, so we'd be most comfortable with her as an only petGood with cats: Unknown Good with young children (under 10): Would do best with older kidsShy or confident: Shy/unsure initially but warms up quickly Barks: Sometimes in kennel or if dogs around her are barking Apartment qualified: Right now no due to some barking Health concerns or special needs: None  We believe Cleo is a pomeranian mix and was born around 7-1-2024. She is fostered in a private home in Lincoln. The adoption fee is $300 which helps cover the cost of vetting procedures. Story
Cheddar is a confident, active, and playful puppy who’s always ready for his next adventure. He loves going on walks, playing with toys, and especially hanging out with other dogs—whether that’s at the dog park or out on neighborhood strolls. Cheddar is friendly and social, doing well with kids he meets on walks and at the park, though he hasn’t been formally tested in a home setting yet. He’s currently working on his housetraining and learning polite leash manners, and he absolutely delights in sniffing everything the world has to offer. With his long tail and happy energy, Cheddar is an easygoing pup who doesn’t need a fenced yard, a calm home, or an experienced owner—just someone ready to enjoy life, walks, playtime, and plenty of puppy joy alongside him. Cheddar is a Retriever mix who was was born approximately 6-1-25 and weighs 45 lbs (still has some growing to do). He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested heartworm negative and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $450 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Story
Rosie is the perfect mix of love, loyalty, and spunk, with a big personality that shines through in everything she does. She’s expressive and affectionate—nudging for attention, curling up beside you on the couch, or even squeezing between your legs for a stand-up snuggle-hug—and she’ll “talk” like Scooby-Doo when she has something on her mind. Smart and eager to please, Rosie learned “sit” right away and is very trainable with food or affection. She’s completely housetrained, can hold her bladder all day, and does well left loose in the home. Rosie enjoys walks and dog-park play, but she likes to be in charge and can resource guard food, water, or toys, so she’ll thrive with an experienced owner who can set clear boundaries. She’ll do best in a cat-free home and with children over 10, since she’s protective of her family and can get mouthy when she plays. Rosie is also a vocal girl—she’ll bark to alert you of visitors and keen for a few minutes when left alone—so she needs a home where her voice won’t be a problem, though her big bark makes her a reassuring walking companion. She is finishing up heartworm treatment and will soon be ready to shower her forever family with devotion, fun, and the warm, wiggly love she brings to everyone she meets. ✅ Loves to play & be active ✅ National Canine Karaoke Champion - no apartments ✅ Fenced yard preferred for ample romp time Rosie was found as a starving young mother dog with four puppies that she was desperately trying to care for. She was brought into rescue along with her beautiful babies who have all been adopted. Now it's mama's turn for her happy ever after! Rosie is a Foxhound who was was born approximately 6-01-23 and weighs 75 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed. Rosie has completed heartworm treatment and must remain on monthly heartworm preventative (as all dogs should) and needs an adopter who will commit to being ontop of that for her. Adoption fee is $400 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website.
