Story
Meet Buck! Buck came into the shelter August 31st, found running loose with another dog outside of Alpine City limits. He was adopted but has sense returned to the shelter, to no fault of his own. Buck gets along with other dogs and has done well in play group. He seems indifferent with cats, there may need to be a safe introduction with cats and him in a new home, we don’t think he knows what they are yet!Buck is shy around new people but once he gets to know you, he is oh so happy to see you! Buck is great on a leash and enjoys going on walks with our staff and volunteers. Buck had some time to learn potty training in his last home so he should be fairly easy to train in a new home. One of our staff members said their favorite characteristic is that Buck is energetic and goofy. Come meet Buck at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830. Story
Buddy is a sweetheart, his owner got diagnosed with COPD a lung disease and with his long fur, it is not safe for the owner to continue to have him in their care. He is a bit shy but if you got treats he warms up very quickly. He loves walks and exploring. Is is about 5 years old and is social with other animals. He is active looking for an active owner or a large area he can protect.

Story
Meet Bon Bon!Bon Bon came into the shelter January 30th from the Presidio Shelter with her 4 siblings, the shelter, unfortunately, was full and they needed our help. Currently she is being housed with just her sister and they love each other’s company; Bon Bon would do great in a home with another dog or dogs. Bon Bon is a typical puppy, affectionate and loves being held. She loves people, big or small. She will need some basic training but, what a great time to do that while she is still young. She is toy and treat motivated and loves meal time! Come meet Bon Bon today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Meet Mavis!Mavis came into the shelter with her buddy Bruno on December 13th after being surrendered by their family who were moving and could not take them.We are still waiting for her to heal from her spay but as soon as she does, we will introduce her to other dogs. She does great with her giant brother Bruno though.Mavis is still learning not to pull when she is walking on a leash but does love to go for a walk with us. She also seems to be potty trained, she tends to wait for her turn in the yard. She loves to play in the water so if you are one to visit a lake, you better bet she is going to make a splash! Mavis loves any and all treats, especially her peanut butter kong at night. How can you resist that cute smile? Come meet Mavis today at the Alpine Anim animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.

Story
Dogon is truly an amazing dog. The only reason I'd like to rehome her is because I do not have the time to give her the engagement and exercise she deserves. I've had her trained as well as worked with her myself for 5 years, and she heeds commands, responding well to snapping of the fingers along with the command. She is very well behaved, and is typically friendly toward other animals. She has never bitten anyone or acted aggressive toward a human. She tends to be food aggressive around other animals so feed separately. She is very friendly and loves people, kids, and other animals though, eager to play or say hi. She should have a big yard to run and preferably another dog to play with and/or regular daily walks. She lives for treats, has striking white eyes, is highly intelligent, and will melt your heart with her sweet and gentle character.

Story
Meet Namir!Namir came into the shelter on July 4th, 2025, found running loose in the City of Alpine. This guy has really come a long way. He came in pretty banged up and with an eye infection which we have since treated and he is now looking fantastic! He was not sure what to think of us all at first, but with just a few days of love, understanding and reassurance, Namir has come out of his shell and is showing to be the sweetest boy. Namir is one of our dogs that can be in a yard with other dogs most of the day, he seems to get along with other dogs especially the ones that are laid back and just want to hang out. He is a wonderful leash walker, and once the walk is over, he wants to play tug of war with it with you. He is also potty trained; he will wait for his turn in the yard. Our staff says their favorite characteristics are that he has a sweet demeaner and goofy personality. Come meet Namir today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.
