Story
New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. We would prefer to have her in a Foster-To-Adopt situation for an approved applicant. All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Story
From his foster: “As soon as Steinway arrived in his foster home, he embraced indoor life like a pro. His foster parents quickly nicknamed him “Baby Grand”.  just like a grand piano, because everything about Steinway is grand: his personality, his presence, and his fluff! Steinway is the fluffiest foster they’ve ever seen, and he knows it too. He absolutely uses his stunning looks to get ALL the cuddles and kisses. Steinway might look regal, but don’t let that fool you, he loves to play just as much as he loves to cuddle. He’ll chase toys, romp with his siblings, and even play with the adult cats in his foster home like he’s the life of the party. After playtime, he melts right into loving arms and stays there, he’s been known to nap in his foster parents’ arms for over an hour! Steinway is a treat enthusiast too, he’ll wake up from a deep sleep the minute he hears the Churu or treat drawer open! He’s truly a grandhearted companion, confident, affectionate, playful, and always ready to share love. Whether he’s flopped out after zoomies or curled up beside you for snuggles, Steinway brings warmth and charm to every moment.”   Currently at a foster home in Evergreen.  Complete a cat application at www.eapl.com - once approved you can adopt the cat of your choice. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Powerline is a ridiculously handsome, sweet-natured guy who has already lived more life than most cats his age and somehow came out the other side still trusting, affectionate, and ready to love hard. He came to us from a shelter partner in Colorado after surviving a dog attack that left him with a traumatic brain injury and permanent deafness. Because of that injury, Powerline has a charming little wobble to his walk and does best in a home without very tall climbing surfaces (think under 6 feet). He gets around just fine, he just needs adventures a little closer to the ground for safety. Being deaf also means Powerline can’t hear himself… so when he’s adjusting to a new environment, he may sing the song of his people at full volume. It’s not constant and it does fade as he settles in, but it’s part of his quirky charm and something his future family should be ready to roll with. Powerline is a social guy who gains confidence from animal friends. He must be adopted with a feline buddy or into a home with a confident, welcoming resident cat. Interestingly, despite his past, he still seems to adore dogs. His foster may consider placement with an extremely cat-friendly dog in lieu of a resident cat, as Powerline appears to find comfort in canine companionship too. At home, Powerline is all about love. He enjoys being snuggled, will happily follow his favorite human from room to room, and thrives with patient people who are willing to give him time and grace as he settles into a new space. Once he feels safe, his affectionate, loyal personality really shines. Powerline is a resilient, loving cat with a few special considerations and a whole lot of heart. If you’re looking for a devoted companion and believe that the best bonds are built with patience and compassion, Powerline might just be your guy. 💛 He is currently being fostered in Lakewood, Colorado

Story
Jax is an 11-year-old black, long-haired cat with a calm, gentle nature and a huge heart. He is deeply affectionate and loves being near his people (usually within arm’s reach) and is almost always purring or making sweet little chirping sounds when he’s happy. He is wonderful with children. When our daughter was a baby, Jax would come get us if he heard her wake up, and now that she’s older he still checks on her, often sleeping at the foot of her bed. He is nurturing, intuitive, and very loving. Jax is a relaxed, lowkey indoor cat who isn’t interested in jumping on counters, climbing curtains, or getting into trouble. He enjoys a calm home and would be perfect for someone looking for a quiet companion to keep them company on the couch. He occasionally enjoys a stroll in the backyard but is not suited for outdoor life. He is currently an only pet, so we’re unsure how he does with other animals. Rehoming him is a heartbreaking medical necessity due to severe asthma. Contact for more
