Story
Maxwell is a brave little rescue who was found in Northville’s Hines Park, skin and bones and struggling to survive. With the help of our vet, he’s come a long way—now healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and FELV/FIV tested. We believe he was dumped, as he had a tattered collar but no tag or microchip. Because of his past, Maxwell has a bit of PTSD and should remain safely indoors; even seeing his old collar clearly causes him stress, a reminder of what he went through. Despite it all, he’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and grateful. Maxwell needs a patient, loving person who will be his rock and give him the time he needs to feel secure. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal companion for life.

Story
Jett is a Domestic Long Hair (DLH), male, DOB: 2/15/19. Seeking approval from a gentle touch and soft-spoken words, Jett revels in being close to people and will choose loving interaction with his people over just about any other activity. That’s not to say he doesn’t enjoy playtime and adventurous exploration on his own and with other cats – he certainly does, and vigorous, sometimes ruff-n-tumble play sessions will need to be a box-checked on his daily activity agenda. With an impish inquisitive side and a love of exploring, he likes to be busy, but he has a definite comfort zone in which he operates, and without a doubt, he will need some time to settle into his new environment and get comfortable before being willing to show the fun-loving, playfully impish side of his personality. With a handsome-meter off the charts, this people-loving feline will reveal his precious sweet charm to one-and-all in his spirited play and uninhibited love of affection and praise from his people. Pretty undemanding too, Jett is a calm and quiet cat who is happy just to be in the presence of people and near family activities; he thrives with attention and would love to have a window perch where he can watch the goings on of the household. Jett is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active lifestyle; without active, young children under the age of twelve (12); and without active or unruly pets already in the household. That being said, we think Jett could and will do well in a home with calm, cat-friendly dogs and possibly other compatible cats (we know he previously lived in a colony with other cats), so long as he is given the time he will need to adjust to his new environment and allowed to establish trust-bonds along with reasonable boundaries with other housemate pets. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption. Jett came to Monroe SPCA as a rescue from Monroe County Animal Control, along with his colony mates: Jade, Paddy, Skye, and more. Before they were live-trapped, the colony was not being cared for and in the middle of winter they had no way to keep warm - some were found frozen to death on the property. Jett, along with all the other cats rescued were treated for URIs, malnutrition, ear mites, Giardia, Coccidia, fleas, and Tape and Roundworm while with us. They also all received and are still receiving daily socialization with our volunteers. Now a healthy, happy, mostly confident cat, Jett is looking for a forever family who will welcome and embrace him as a life-long, beloved companion and family member, and always appreciate him as the entirely sincere and earnest, sweet natured, handsome feline he is. Jett currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption. Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI. For more information message us on Facebook or email info@monroespca.org.

Story
Paddy is a Domestic Long Hair (DLH), male, DOB: 2/25/19. As gentle as they come and a sensitive guy, Paddy can be a just a little hesitant when presented with unfamiliar situations (like most cats) but his friendly, inquisitive nature makes it impossible for him to play coy for long. Once confident and knowing all is well – he warms up quickly. Definitely liking attention, he will readily approach people to give and receive affection; and with a few soft-spoken words of encouragement he will become quite engaging. Paddy also really enjoys having his coat brushed, and he loses all inhibition when the petting begins, especially belly rubs. An extremely sweet-natured, mostly easy-going, always endearing and entirely easy-to-please cat – he is also a committed snuggler who is social, warm-hearted, and enthusiastically affectionate with people he knows and trusts. Given some time to gain his bearings and a bit of respect for any initial reservations with new people and surroundings, this little doll eagerly accepts and gives affection, enjoying snuggling and close contact, and showing he chooses loving attention and interaction with his people over just about any other activity. He's shown a love of play as well, with his favorite people and toys. Paddy is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active lifestyle; without active, young children under the age of six (6); and without active or unruly pets already in the household. That being said, we think Paddy could and will do well in a home with calm, cat-friendly dogs and possibly other compatible cats (we know he previously lived in a colony with other cats), so long as he is given the time he will need to adjust to his new environment and allowed to establish trust-bonds along with reasonable boundaries with other housemate pets. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Whisper is a beautiful black long-haired cat. Recently we found out she absolutely thrives in a calm environment with no other animals in the household. She is very affectionate and will swish around your feet, head bump you and lean into you. She loves pets and may even give you a little kiss, after she decides she trusts you. When she's comfortable she's even been called a velcro cat.  Whisper is a young cat and when she really wants attention, she may give a little nip or swat now and then. She has a lot of cattitude. She is curious and likes to know what you are doing and nose around near you. She loves playing with toys.  Whisper is looking for someone special who will be patient with her and give her time to trust. She would do best in a non-chaotic environment.  Whisper is spayed and is up to date on vaccines.    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
