Story
Groucho was found in rough shape. He may have had an admittedly gruff demeanor, but he was unable to take care of himself out there on his own and that will take a toll on any cat. He was sick when found requiring a few days of hospitalization. During his stay his matted coat was shaved down allowing him to grow out his coat the way it was meant to be. Long and luxurious. Groucho would thrive in an adult home who would allow him time to acclimate. You will be so glad you chose to give this special cat a chance. * AGE : estimated to be 3-5 years old by his veterinarian * TEMPERAMENT: Wants to be a lap cat in a quiet home * Why are they at the shelter? Found homeless and unable to get by * Any Health issues? None known, though he needs consistent brushing * How are they with other cats? Dogs? Good with other cats and seems to accept dogs who are calm * Volunteer Comments? "He's such a Dignified cat." Groucho deserves the best of homes!" Story
Barney lives in his foster home. Please contact his foster Mom at nknapp@sheltertohome.com Barney came to us with a severe wound to his face and eye. He has recovered beautifully and is ready for his furever home! He LOVES snuggling and would do best in a quiet home with someone who is there most of the time. He seems interested in cats, but has not had a lot of interaction with them. His injuries were likely caused by another animal, so he may want to be an only cat. Barney is FIV+, which means that he is immune-compromised. FIV is only transmissible through deep bite wounds and mating. He won't be seducing the ladies and is an indoor-only cat, so the risk is minimal. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**May 22, 2024, 9:06 pm

Story
I was born about 3/27/19. Callie is a sweet lioness with a gentle soul. She loves to stalk her prey (feather wand) and climb to high perches to survey her land. She wears her velvety fur like a royal gown and enjoys a good scratch around her crown. You can find Callie napping in the sun of the savanna or lounging on one of her human royal subjects where she enjoys serious cuddle time. Callie may do better with no other cats or dogs. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. Story
Millicent was part of a colony that our rescue TNR'd. She was pretty sick after we caught her, so we kept her for medical hold while we cleared up her infection. Millicent became pretty chill and relaxed after a couple months of human interaction, so we decided it was best to try to find her a home off of the streets. Millicent is an adult domestic longhair, who loves to be pet and scratched, but still isn't crazy about being picked up. She likes to rub against your ankles for affection, and will come sit on your lap on her own terms. She doesn't mind the other cats or dogs in the foster home, but would probably prefer just another chill and quiet cat. She is very submissive due to having to hunt for food and fight against other cats for kibble in her former life, but she has really developed a love and appreciation for whoever is filling her food bowl. She is very highly food motivated, and will do just about anything for a can of wet food. She is really sweet and calm, and just wants a relaxing life by the windows. Due to her coming from a TNR clinic, we are asking a donation of $50 to cover the TNR cost for another cat in need. We are able to get low cost spay and neuters for the feral and stray cats in the area, and would love the support in helping other cats in the area.

Story
Moki was found at 5 weeks old in a dumpster and i have had him since! (5 years now) Moki began having aggression towards other cats in the home at 2 years old. He needs to be the only cat in the house. He might do best with no children under 12, however he hasn’t really been around kids. He is a very sweet cat to me when he wants to be. He does swat at me and other humans but his main aggression is at the other cats. I firmly believe that Moki would thrive and behavioral issues would stop if he was the only cat. He doesn’t bite nor draw blood but he will swat from time to time when he is aggravated with the other cats. He loves watching birds on his 20” TV (lol) He loves feathered toys and sometimes joins me in the bath, as long as the water doesn’t touch him. Lol. He is a good boy in need of a no cat zone house!!!
