Story
Millicent was part of a colony that our rescue TNR'd. She was pretty sick after we caught her, so we kept her for medical hold while we cleared up her infection. Millicent became pretty chill and relaxed after a couple months of human interaction, so we decided it was best to try to find her a home off of the streets. Millicent is an adult domestic longhair, who loves to be pet and scratched, but still isn't crazy about being picked up. She likes to rub against your ankles for affection, and will come sit on your lap on her own terms. She doesn't mind the other cats or dogs in the foster home, but would probably prefer just another chill and quiet cat. She is very submissive due to having to hunt for food and fight against other cats for kibble in her former life, but she has really developed a love and appreciation for whoever is filling her food bowl. She is very highly food motivated, and will do just about anything for a can of wet food. She is really sweet and calm, and just wants a relaxing life by the windows. Due to her coming from a TNR clinic, we are asking a donation of $50 to cover the TNR cost for another cat in need. We are able to get low cost spay and neuters for the feral and stray cats in the area, and would love the support in helping other cats in the area.

Story
Barney lives in his foster home. Please contact his foster Mom at nknapp@sheltertohome.com Barney came to us with a severe wound to his face and eye. He has recovered beautifully and is ready for his furever home! He LOVES snuggling and would do best in a quiet home with someone who is there most of the time. He seems interested in cats, but has not had a lot of interaction with them. His injuries were likely caused by another animal, so he may want to be an only cat. Barney is FIV+, which means that he is immune-compromised. FIV is only transmissible through deep bite wounds and mating. He won't be seducing the ladies and is an indoor-only cat, so the risk is minimal. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**July 26, 2024, 7:56 am

Story
ELISE is a very special cat... She was picked up as part of a police intervention on a situation that was quickly becoming out of control. We met Elise as she was helping one of her sisters care for her litter of kittens. Her sister (Imogen) was trying her best with the kittens while she herself suffered from a broken leg. Local nonprofit group Pound Pals Downriver stepped up to assist all of the cats picked up from that location. Thank you PPD! ELISE loves to cuddle in her fluffy bed, though she is most content in a quiet environment with calm people. She's a quiet cat who doesn't care for a lot of chaos. * AGE: about 1 year old * TEMPERAMENT: calm * Why are they at the shelter? found homeless * Any Health issues?
