Aptly named for her luxurious tortie coat, Miss Kitty Fluffington is a sweetly shy cat looking for a quiet home with a patient, understanding adopter. She came to the Frederick shelter as an unsocialized stray with two kittens. We brought her into our foster program to give her time to raise her kittens, and she was a wonderful mom, giving her little ones lots of love and trusting her foster caretakers enough to allow them to socialize her kittens. The kittens found a wonderful home together, and now it's Miss Kitty's turn. She's made a lot of progress in her own socialization. She greets her foster mom with happy, excited meows, enjoys being petted, and loves their daily play sessions. But Miss Kitty is still shy with unfamiliar people so needs an adopter who can provide her with a safe, quiet environment and patiently earn her trust. Miss Kitty is spayed, current on vaccinations, felv/fiv negative and microchipped.

Now that you found Virgil, your search is over! We can’t even begin to describe what a purrfect little guy he is. We’d like to call him a Maine Coon, but in reality he’s not. He’s just a really fluffy cat. And he’s super petite for a boy. So we’ll go with Maine Coon-esque 😊 He’s a super friendly, confident cat that would do well with kids and other animals (did you see the video?). He actually LOVES everyone and everything. He’s sweet, funny, and playful until he crashes. He takes his cat naps very seriously and would love a window with a sunbeam. He loves every kind of toy and will happily entertain himself if there’s no other option. He has perfect litter box manners and uses both open and contained boxes. Rachelle is a very loving, affectionate 1.5 year old girl. This girl is fortunate enough to be and FIP survivor. Rachelle loves to play with toys of all types, especially the laser light. She loves humans but also loves to play with her kitty friends at her foster home. She loves to lay on cat trees or anywhere she can look at the window at birds and squirrels. Since she is more laid back a slower paced home with older children or an adult only would be best. Rachelle is a medium haired fluffy girl and will require some grooming. If you're looking for a fluffy, loving girl Rachelle could be your kitty.

  So many stories in the rescue world about cats and they all seem to have the same start all too often and too sad.  This stunning grey tabby and white boy is called Chester, he is just barely one year of age and born to a stray momma cat.  Living outdoors all his life, his momma brought him and his littermates to a family house where she hoped to be fed and to care for her litter born outside a home.  Somehow her 4 kittens survived and here is Chester to prove that miracles can happen for these lost and forgotten mommas and their babies.  Chester is now a very handsome 13 pound boy that has been invited inside a foster home and is being given the wide berth to relax and make himself at home as a pampered and well fed adult cat.  He’s still super shy and will hide a lot under the bed, but he is starting to come out for some play time and chin scratches.  In just 4 days he has made such strides and advancements to allow toys to entice him to come out several times without fear and allow his new foster mom Joyce to pet him and given him chin rubs.  He is learning to be petted and to trust this new foster mom.  He and his littermates are all grown up but very young and they are getting better with the litterbox training and are eating with a hearty appetite.  We feel that time and patience will see Chester and his siblings stay out from under a bed or in hiding more and more as they learn they are safe and have a promise of food and love every day for the rest of their life.  If you are interested in helping Chester learn daily how to receive love and be happy with being touched, then please email us and ask to foster him or adopt him.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com we are anxious to find a capable home to love him all the way. When you think of the many beautiful cats that God has created with his palette of many colors, you must think of our gorgeous Torti girl named Lavergne and maybe even her sister Shirley who looks much like her.   Lavergne plays so well with other cats and is OK with dogs.  Truth be known, the current dogs in her foster home are enormous and overpowering for her small little self.  If you are looking for some nostalgia … please consider adopting both sisters....Lavergne and Shirley who we know will make you smile! She and other cats lost their owner, who died. Then the house burned and they were abandon on the property. Now in a foster home and looking forward to having her own family soon. Her foster home says she's an incredibly sweet cat. "Gretel is a great gal looking for her forever family, she has grey markings on the top of her head. Gretel loves being brushed, relaxing beside you or in the sunshine, and enjoys receiving affection. Gretel would love to bring her joy to her forever family." Gretel is a happy gal and always has purrs at the ready. She loves receiving affection and being part of the family group whether it's observing or participating, she likes watching bird videos on your phone, and stealing hair ties to play with.
