Story
Jasper is probably the most important kitty in the world. Just ask him! Originally adopted out as a kitten, Jasper came back to our program through no fault of his own. This time he's looking for the perfect fit. He'd prefer not to live with dogs as he finds them quite annoying. He does love getting all the attention from his people though! This guy can be very vocal when you don't know exactly what he wants. Luckily he's great at communicating! Jasper is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines and just recently had a dental. If you're interested in bringing this perfect cat into your perfect home then please reach out for an adoption application! Please email adoption@columbiahumane.org for more information. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJuly 24, 2024, 6:30 am

Story
Carlo just may be the sweetest little guy this foster has ever met! Gentle and docile, he hasn’t a cruel bone in his body. You can brush him, bathe him, and hold him and he never shows any frustration or aggression. While shy, he absolutely loves to be pet and will purr and make muffins on your lap for as long as you can sit still!Poor Carlo was overlooked at his previous home which he shared with 7 other cats and an elderly woman who couldn’t give him the love he craves. When his owner passed, he acclimated easily to his foster home, where he welcomed other young fosters when they shared his space and seemed curious about dogs.Carlo would love a quiet home with an owner who is patient and has lots of time to give him love. Healthy and well vetted including bloodwork and urinalysis, vaccinations and microchip, this 9 year old neutered male looks forward to retiring in a home of his own. Story
I am quite the traveler! When we lost our home in Florida during Hurricane Ian, we came to the PNW to find a new place to call home. However, recovering from the financial loss has been tough on my mom and we've been staying with her friends. We're grateful for a roof over us but I've been cooped up in one bedroom for way too long because the resident cat is very hostile to me! Mom figured I'd be better in a home of my own, especially since I've been Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive since I was born. It was thought I had shed the virus but I guess not. That means I need to be your only kitty or I could live with another kitty that has FeLV if they want company! I'm a very sweet girl and have a few tricks I like to try. I like to try to get the top off the treat jar with my paws. When I think it's time to get mom up, I try to nip her nose to tell her it's time to wake up. I also try to straighten her hair by pulling at the crown. I loved my prior housemates. Jody, 90 lb German Shepherd and Domino, the 14-year-old male cat. It takes me a little time to feel secure and warm up but I've gotten so much better since traveling by car from Florida and being confined for the past couple of months! If you have room in your heart for a sweet girl and no other cats, or one like me, fill out at application and let's meet to see what we think of each other! You won't be sorry!July 26, 2024, 3:42 pm

Story
Hi my name is Onyx - and have I got a story to tell! You see, my original humans just up and left me behind (not cool!) Fortunately, I found my way to a house where a nice lady took me in. It took some time for me to understand indoor life but man have I grown into my own and realized how warm and comfy it is! My favorite things are to greet her in the morning by plopping over on on the rug for pets and following her around the house to show how much I love her. I happily accept being smothered in kisses but I do take a minute to warm up to new people. Being brushed is also the best thing in the world, second to my automatic feeder which I sprint to every time it goes off. I love food. There is another cat in the house, and we co-exist, but I would really like to have people of my own or maybe a younger sister later on. I think I would get along with older kids but those little ones can be a bit noisy for me - and lets forget those slobbery dog things! I am current on my vaccines, microchipped and very good with the litter box.July 26, 2024, 3:42 pm

Story
This young tuxedo lady was just an adolescent herself when she was taken in by a good Samaritan before the snowstorm, and found to be pregnant. She had her babies on Leap Day (Feb 29th), has raised them successfully and is now looking for her forever home. She is sweet and likes attention but can be a little spicy, too. Maybe it was just hormones, but she may not be a good choice for small children. She would also love to be your one and only feline! She is now spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and vaccinated and ready for her new home.July 26, 2024, 3:42 pm

Story
Shadow Fax was brought to us with four kittens. She had guardians that provided as much protection as they could but live in Hockinson and is not safe spot for her to go back to. She has a healed head injury and a bite wound on her leg which we suspect contributes to an extreme overreaction to fear. The source of fear may come from wildlife, outside human activities, dog barking, anything that she sees as threatening her safety. When she feels under threat, she is destructive while trying to escape(blinds, screens, other property in the way of her means of escape)and will bite if you try to control her when she is in this state. She has the ability to bond with people and will then tolerate being picked up and handled, purring even …but when she’s afraid, she is fierce. Over two months, she has acclimated to a home environment but hovers around the edges coming forward when meal time. She is now much more comfortable about being approached by a trusted human and picked up. She adores the male cat in the household. We understand she is an accomplished mouser so, as much as it pains us, we are looking for a barn, shop or catio where she can land or if you are willing to give her a long adjustment period, a house setting. We think it best if she had the companionship of another cat or colony. If Shadow Fax seems like a cat you could accept into your life, please go to sccpets.com and fill out an app. She is spayed and vaccinated. Spread the word also….Thank you.July 26, 2024, 3:42 pm
