Story
Meet Squeak Suppression System, the unseen force that keeps barns quiet and mice uneasy. Where his brother operates with quiet professionalism, Squeak prefers complete invisibility.Raised outdoors, Squeak has perfected the art of haunting a place. You will rarely see him. You may never see him. But somehow, the squeaks stop, food stays untouched, and the barn feels… monitored. He moves silently, observes from the shadows, and conducts his work with zero need for recognition.Squeak is even less social than his brother and has no interest in human interaction beyond the important understanding that people bring food. He appreciates meals being served reliably and will accept them with discretion before melting back into the background. He is not a candidate for petting, carrying, or social expectations of any kind—and he’s perfectly happy that way.Squeak Suppression System is ideal for an adopter who values results over appearances and understands that the best working cats are often the ones you never notice. Give him a safe outdoor setup, consistent meals, and the freedom to remain mysterious, and he will quietly take care of the rest. You may not see him.But the mice will. Our Working/Barn Cat Program is designed to find feral and community cats safe outdoor homes in barns, warehouses, farms, and other safe locations for cats that are not candidates for our traditional adoption programs. These are not necessarily lap cats. Why Adopt a Working Cat?Working Cats benefit their caretakers! Story
Meet Sam, an 11-pound loaf of love wrapped in fur and a dash of shyness. At 2 years old, this gentle guy is more of a “get to know you over dinner” kind of cat than a “love at first sight” type—and honestly, same. He may take a little time to trust you, but once you’re in his circle, prepare for the full purr treatment. This chunky sweetheart has a motor that could rival a lawnmower, and he’s not afraid to use it when he’s happy.Sam’s favorite things include cozy corners, calm voices, and, of course, snacks. (Did we mention he’s a bit of a foodie?) He’s the perfect match for someone who appreciates the quiet joy of winning over a shy cat’s heart—and doesn’t mind sharing a few treats along the way. Give Sam the time and space to blossom, and you’ll soon find yourself with a loyal, purring best friend who believes every meal is a love language. Our cat adoption fee is $70. Story
Wilbur is a small, thin cat of 11 years who still acts like a kitten much of the time. Wilbur is not a layabout. He's often up walking around exploring, and certainly enjoys zooming around the house for no apparent reason. Wilbur has only lived with adults, but has never been trouble around children. Wilbur knows the word "no" but doesn't tend to get into any trouble. Wilbur is on dry food to prevent urinary stones. The food works well. It's easy to get from the online pet supply stores or your vet. Wilbur has only ever been an inside cat. Wilbur has never had a problem getting to know new animals. At the vet, although annoyed, Wilbur is very calm and easy to handle and doesn't give the staff any trouble.
