Story
You could describe Dr. Pepper as a big, handsome, reserved gentleman cat, or as a super-snuggly, funny little black bear, and you'd be right either way. This sweet, shy 9-year-old kitty is looking for a loving home with adopters who appreciate that it can take a fellow a little time to settle in and feel at home. Timid and anxious in the busy shelter environment, Dr. Pepper has bloomed in his foster home and loves to curl up on his foster mom's lap, purring softly, enjoying pets and brushing, and administering a gentle head butt or two. He'll make a little nest under the blankets and sleep beside his mom all night; he's also been known to go after feather toys with some spirit. Dr. Pepper startles easily at loud noises and sudden movement, so a relatively calm and quiet environment with a few comforting hiding spaces would suit him well. He needs a prescription diet because of a history of crystals in his urine. Easygoing and gentle-he even cooperates with claw trims!--with a little extra TLC Dr. Pepper will make the most delightful little (or big) buddy for the lucky people who take him home.In a FOSTER HOME (not at the shelter; please note the different email address). To meet this cat, please download and fill out an adoption survey found here:https://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/AnimalShelter/Cat%20Adoption%20Questionnaire_Fillable.pdfSend to: sasfostercatapply@gmail.comNOTE: These instructions are only for cats in foster homes. **IMPORTANT** This cat is in a foster home and the email address in the instructions below is different.YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DELAYED IF YOU USE THE WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS.Phoenix is a curious, handsome, and large boy who shares looks (but not personality) with Garfield. He is very friendly, enjoying pets, string toys, and naps in small spaces. Phoenix is currently being monitored for diabetes to see if his condition can be managed with a special diet. Phoenix would do best in a calm home with adults only or older, respectful kids. He's lived with other cats before, but sometimes would get picked on. He would do well as your one and only, though he might do okay with a friendly, similar-energy cat or a calm, friendly dog, if given a slow, proper introduction. To begin the adoption process for this cat, follow these instructions (only for cats in foster homes):1. Copy and paste the link below into a new tab on your browser for a list of fillable adoption surveys: https://www.seattle.gov/animal-shelter/find-an-animal/adopt/adoption-fees-and-applications2. Prince is a shy guy who is a bit skittish but loves his playtime. He can be entertained to no end by feather wand toys. He also enjoys treats, and will start warming up after lots of positive reinforcement. He is not entirely comfortable with pets yet, but he'll let you know when he's ready. Some of his favorite past-times are napping on the couch and watching bird TV.In a FOSTER HOME (not at the shelter; please note the different email address). Oatmeal is a very sweet girl but quite shy and may be afraid of humans at first. She was living outside with other kitty friends and is still getting used to living only indoors. She is fully litter box trained and loves to eat kibble and wet food. Her favorite snacks are puree treats and she loves gentle cheek rubs and playing with other cats. She enjoys comfy spaces where she can feel safe and would do best in a home with other socialized and friendly cats. She needs a family who will be patient with her and help her feel loved. Story
Tessa is a sweet 7-year-old girl cat. She is a 'furball full of sunshine'! She loves bathing in the sun and napping in a blanket. When seeing you the first time everyday, she will rub her head against your hand, that's her way of saying 'good morning'. Occasionally, she will lay on your knee and pur, just to spend some quality time together. She is good on her own most of the time, but enjoys petting and playing with you also. We adopted Tessa when she was about one year old in Durham, North Carolina. She moved across the country with us, and we've been living in Redmond, Washington for about four years now. We would love to find Tessa a loving new home, where she will continue to live her best life and bring joy and happiness to your family as well.

Ash is a lovely 2-year-old girl. She is very shy and sensitive to noise. She loves spending time on your lap and getting pats on the butt. Even though she does not like noise, she likes to play and run around the house with her favorite sloth plush toy. She had been an indoor cat before she ran out for 3 weeks last December. She hates other cats since then, and they fight very often now. She has no allergies and no food preferences or hate. She was adopted from SAFe one year ago. I adopted her with her brother Avery together, and they used to cuddle with each other like there was no one else (now they fight so aggro). She is very sweet, and needs the patience to let her come to you. Ashe will be the softest companion if someone wants 24/7 cuddling.

Story
Q is a handsome and playful cat. He will jump about 7' in the air for a laser dot or a toy and will play so hard he pants (checked with vet, not an issue that's just him). He will come to you for pets and affection whenever you're in bed or on the toilet, purring loudly. Has a very distinct meow that, while a bit jarring at first, I’m going to miss. (Almost sounds like he is saying hello) Probably the most intelligent cat I've ever had or met. He's not 2 yet but I'm pretty sure he'll be opening doors soon. He's shown the curiosity about how handles work. He's been indoor only for about half a year now and hasn't expressed a longing to get back on the prowl but he was quite the hunter when he had the opportunity. Ideal home either lets him outside or has someone that likes to play (not just pet) cats.

I adopted Salem when she was one. I have had her for a year and a half now. She is extremely playful and cuddly. She loves to lay in your lap and get cuddles. She is very good motivated and will pretty much do anything for a treat. She needs a home where she can run around and go inside and outside. She is very feisty and loves to play and hunt. Being outside would be great for her.
