Story
Hi! My name is Martin and I am a `Working Cat`. I am seeking a home where I can put my hunting skills to work! I am a cat that has had some interactions with humans and I`m likely interested in being pet and handled, but only on my terms. I can get overstimulated with petting, so please move carefully with me and keep an eye out for signs that I might need a break. Being an indoor only cat is not enough stimulation for me and I would like to hunt rodents in order to stay enriched and active. If you have never had working cats before, please reach out to barncatsrus@gmail.com to get all of the resources you will need to set up before you bring me home.

Story
Meet Goose! Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Goose and his Top Gun siblings (Maverick and Rooster) are an adorable trio of tuxedo boys found under a bush in Houston. They were rescued and are safe and sound now -- they have adjusted very quickly to the good life indoors and are ready for a home of their own! The Top Gun kittens are new to our foster program and we are still getting to know their personalities. We will update their bios soon with even more info! Goose started out as a spicy kitten but he is learning quickly that snuggles, treats, and love are pretty awesome. He is no longer spicy but tends to be a little bit more shy than his brothers. Every day he gets a little more brave and it’s been such a transformation already. These boys love to explore, wrestle, climb up their cat trees, and cuddle up together. They are a constant source of entertainment and will bring a smile to their new family’s faces! Goose is ~3 months old, in great health, and will be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy. All he needs now is his forever home! Priority will be given to applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens or who have patient, playful resident cats or dogs at home. He's never met a dog, but with slow introductions to a calm, cat-savvy pup, we think he could learn to love a new dog friend. Adopt Goose and maybe one (or two!) of his adorable siblings, and double the love, double the purrs, and double the fun! Information on why adopting two kittens is better for their short- and long-term health can be found here: http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens --- The adoption application can be found here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Maverick, Goose, and Rooster are currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes. ——— ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES: When you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you're doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee pays for a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts! Story
Thumper is a bright, bustling girl, approximately 5 years of age. She has the classic stocky tabby body but with a unique bobbed tail, giving her the look of a mini-bobcat. Thumper is curious and confident with new people and warms up quickly, and will soon be chirping and doing dolphin-dives up to your hand for scritches. Thumper has medium energy, and loves attention and chasing her favorite cat wand. She also loves all things that radiate warmth, and adores curling up in a warm bed or in front of a fireplace. She is quickly learning to be a lap cat, and at night has been known to share her person`s pillow. Thumper was an owner surrender after being turned outdoors by her previous family. Thumper has suspected asthma for which she needs daily medication, and will require ongoing veterinary monitoring for this condition. She`ll need a non-smoking, indoor-only home. Thumper will be happiest as an only pet - she can be quite bossy with other cats, bordering on bullying. She can also get a bit feisty if overstimulated during play, and thus will do best in a calm home without small or rambunctious kids. It is not known how she would respond to dogs. Thumper would love to meet you and your household members! She is currently in foster care in a home in Lake Forest Park (near Shoreline). To learn more about Thumper or to set up a meet and greet, please fill out the Foster Adoption Interest E-form or contact the foster parent directly at jen.dunnaway at gmail dot com, or by text at 607 244 4288.

Story
Meet Boogie: a shy guy who is sweet as can be, looking for a patient and quiet family to give all his love and chunky snuggles! Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Boogie and his mom Disco were living in a stray cat colony in Houston, and extremely skittish and wary of humans. When he was a couple months old, Boogie developed a severe upper respiratory infection which can be deadly in kittens without treatment. Because he was so skittish around people, Boogie was trapped as part of a Trap/Neuter/Return effort. He had such a severe cough and other symptoms that no one could bear to put him back out on the streets. And so began his "socialization adventure"... While being nursed back to health with daily medication and monitoring, Boogie slowly but surely started to warm up to human companionship. Every day he started to feel better, we saw a little more of his personality shine through: he went from a skinny and scraggly street cat to a VERY chunky, happy, and playful kitten. Even though he is older than most of his foster siblings, Boogie loves to play with the tiny kittens. Boogie has a purr like a lawnmower and will beeline for your lap, begging for snuggles and pets. Sometimes he gets so excited for pets and love that he gives love nips - it can take you by surprise, but it's his way of showing affection when he's really happy! Are you looking to make a real difference in a kitty's life? Do you have the patient and loving home that can help a cat with a tough start get the happy ending they deserve? Boogie may be your perfect companion. I can personally say that watching him come around is worth every moment spent patiently bonding with him. Boogie is just over a year old, neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped. He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy... All he needs now is his forever home. An ideal home for Boogie is an experienced cat owner who understands and can sympathize with a cat who has a tough past. While Boogie is not aggressive at all, he is very shy and needs someone who is ready and willing to continue trying to help him out of his shell. A quiet home with cats would be ideal, but Boogie would also be happy as an only cat if his human companions are home enough to give him all the love. Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Boogie is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes. I adopted Grey and his brother Earl when they were little kittens and have had them for 8 great years. Grey loves to cuddle at night to sleep or sit in your lap while you’re working. Neither have ever scratched me on purpose, only when I play with toys and forget they have claws. They will also let you trim their nails without a fight. Just sit criss cross and lay them on the back with tummies up and they’ll let you trim away. I’d really love for them to be adopted together. They’ve lived their whole lives together and I wouldn’t want to split them up. My partner is allergic and I’m now pregnant and can’t give them the attention they deserve. They’re very loving affection cats and deserve the same from their humans.

Meet Mindy – a playful, cuddle bug! Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Mindy is full of energy, curiosity, and just the right amount of mischief. Mindy loves teaming up with her siblings for playtime shenanigans, and she’s often the one leading the charge into kitten-sized trouble (the fun kind). After all that excitement though, she’s more than happy to settle in your arms for a good cuddle. Mindy is an affectionate, playful girl and will make sure she gets your attention when she needs it! She loves to be with her siblings in a cuddle pile, on your lap, or racing around the house. She's a very loving and fun little kitten and will make a great family member! Mindy is ~8 months old, spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy. All she needs now is her forever home! Mindy would thrive if adopted with one of her foster siblings. She's never met a dog, but with slow introductions to a calm, cat-savvy pup, we think she could learn to love a new dog friend. Mindy’s foster mates: Mike (M), Matt (M), Mary (F) Priority will be given to applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens or who have patient, playful resident cats or dogs at home.
