Bram is a common Dutch name and a shortened version of Abraham. He is a smart, energetic boy who loves being close to his person and would do best in a home where someone is home often and has the time to include him in daily life and activities. He would especially thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a secure yard where he can run, play, and burn off energy. Bram loves little dogs and does well with non-dominant female dogs. With the right introductions, we believe he could do well with other dogs too. He loves to play, run, jump, and stay active. Bram would thrive with someone who enjoys adventures, walks, training, or even dog agility/obstacle courses something we think he would absolutely excel at and enjoy. He does need some basic training and to learn a few manners, especially not jumping up on people, although he really just loves to give hugs. He is loyal, fun, and full of personality, and he is looking for a home that will give him the structure, exercise, and companionship he deserves.

Hi, I’m Rufus! I’m a 2-year-old German Shepherd weighing about 94 pounds, and I have some exciting news: I’m officially in Illinois! I’m currently in training, where I’m showing everyone what a very good boy I am while I get ready for the family I’ve been waiting for. My road here wasn’t easy. I was adopted and later ended up back as a stray, not once, but twice. The second time, I arrived at the shelter wearing a shock collar so tight it had to be cut off, leaving wounds around my neck. Despite everything, I remained friendly, loving, and trusting. The shelter staff saw the good dog underneath everything that had happened to me, and now I finally have the chance to show everyone else too. I love people, I’ve done well with other dogs, and I’ve lived in a home before. I’m a big, strong Shepherd, but underneath all 94 pounds is a loyal, affectionate boy who wants to belong to someone. And now, with training under my belt and Illinois beneath my paws, I’m closer than ever to finding my forever. I’ve done enough starting over. This time, I’m ready to stay. As she is a mostly black dog and a German Shepherd mix, her and her sister were likely to be placed on the euthanize list at a "kill shelter" after 1 yr. We fostered both her and her sister, and her sister has been adopted! She is approximately 12-14wks old at this time. She is playful, curious, responds well to training, house trained, and she's a big cuddler! We have 2 other dogs (1yr old female Australian Cattle dog, and 10 yr old Rottweiler, Pitbull mix) that she gets along very well. We are looking for a loving home for this amazing puppy.

Chuco is a very sweet and energetic dog, he was recently gifted to us but we are unable to take care of him. Chuco is currently around 2 years old and has all his shots up to date. Chuco is very good at following commands and is potty trained. He does go to the bathroom often so we recommend to let him out every hour or two if you can. Overall Chuco is a very sweet dog and hasn’t caused problems for us in the short time we’ve had him, we hope he gets adopted by a family that can give him the happy life he deserves!
