Story
"Meet your new shadow – Bridie 💕 This stunning, 55-lbs, brindle beauty is a 1–2 year old Dutch Shepherd with a heart as big as her ears are alert. She’s the definition of a Velcro dog — if you’ve ever wanted a loyal sidekick who thinks you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to Earth… congratulations, you’ve met your girl. ✨ The Good Stuff: Absolutely adores humans (big fan of her people) Potty trained ✔️ Loves toys — squeaky, tug, toss… yes please! Couch privilege is non-negotiable (she’s a professional snuggler) Will happily follow you from room to room as your devoted assistant 🐾 Dog Skills: She’s dog selective and prefers slow, proper introductions. She may thrive as your one-and-only or with the right respectful canine match. 💛 Her Heart: She bonds deeply and loves being close. She does experience some separation anxiety, but she’s working hard on building confidence and making progress every day. She would do best with a mom or dad who is home more often than not and committed to continuing her growth. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, brindle best friend who wants nothing more than to be your shadow (and share your couch), she’s ready to clock in for lifetime duty. 🐾 Your home. Her heart. Forever." Birdie is being fostered in Thornton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/birdie/. Story
Barnacle is a beautiful, loving Dutch Shepherd I adopted from the Denver Animal shelter. He's 3 years old and healthy. He loves to cuddle, get pets, receive treats, and keep people company. He needs a home that will give him space to roam when he needs it, but people he can go to when he needs some socialization. He can be incredibly calm and relaxed when he's at home, just laying next to his people happily. He loves to play with his toys (especially squeeky ones), and when we go for walks his favorite thing to do is go to a nearby park and run around (One of the pictures I attached shows him playing in fresh snow!) If he needs something, he will communicate that to you; for example, if he needs to go outside a little early, he will lead you to the door and whimper to say "Hey! I need to go!" He has not been living with any other animals so I cannot speak to how he behaves with other dogs, cats, or other animals. He also has not been around children. He gets excited when he sees dogs.

Story
Hello there! My name’s Penny, and I’m a 9-year old, 55 pound shepherd mix with a big heart, a silly streak, and a love for all things Colorado. I’ve had a wonderful life with my humans, but recently they brought home a tiny human who grew into a very wiggly, spinning, jumpy toddler. And, well… I’m not a fan of surprises that move on two legs. So I’m looking for a quieter home, one without tiny humans, where I can relax, feel safe and be your loyal adventure partner. A little about me: · Healthy, happy, and full of love · Great walker, excellent on trails · I adore hiking, camping, skiing and all the normal mountain fun · I do like kids – as long as they’re predictable, respectful, and old enough to understand my boundaries (probably 9+) · I’ve always lived with dogs, but would like to meet them first. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to explore life with – someone who will wag, cuddle, and trot happily beside you on every trail - I’m your girl!

Story
I adopted this little guy in LA last year. He's a really sweet dog. At first he was wild and injured my shoulder. After that I went through training with him and he cleared up a ton! Its just that now after I moved here for work, he developed this separation anxiety I can't really take care of due to my work commitments and other stuff like going to the gym. Pair that with him living in a cramped apartment - this poor little guy deserves better than what I can provide. He is super cuddly and curious. Anytime he hears someone new on a call he joins and watches them. He'd always be with me in the kitchen when I'd cook and give me puppy-eyes for a sample. He doesn't pull when I walk him. He loves to cuddle. He has never had a history of being aggressive towards other dogs. He knows the commands: sit, lay down, poop (yes he poops on command) and reluctantly does 'go' when you point somewhere. He comes with a month of food, treats, toys, & a crate. He deserves a good life :(

Story
We love Finny to pieces—he’s nothing short of an incredible, loving member of our family. We met him while hiking on Mt. Sanitas, when our dear friend Becca was fostering him, and by the end of the hike… we had adopted him. We’ve had Finny for well over a year now. He’s been deeply loved, well trained, and remains a total goofy cuddle bug. He came from the Taos area and was adopted through Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue, who estimated he was about a year old at the time. When we first brought him home, he was much thinner and a little shy—especially around men. Now he’s fully confident, fluffy, and a happy-go-lucky mushball. He loves to throw balls to himself and kick them around like a tiny soccer player. He knows a bunch of tricks, including “bang bang,” where he dramatically rolls onto his back with his paws in the air. Finny adores snuggles and scratches (especially belly rubs), loves long walks and hikes, and is equally happy to lounge around and chill.

Meet Tommy – The Gentle Giant with the Million-Dollar Smile Tommy is a 3-year-old, 75-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his grin. He was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and came to us extremely shy, fearful, and unsure of the world- likely the result of a very troubled past. For months, he needed very patient, gentle fosters to help him feel safe. Because he was given that time, love, and consistency, Tommy has blossomed into the sweetest, calmest, most loyal companion. But it’s important for future adopters to know: Tommy absolutely requires a slow warm-up. He needs people who understand that trust for him is built quietly, steadily, and on his timeline. Once he lets you in, though… it’s magic. In his foster home, Tommy quickly found comfort in his kennel, learned to use the doggy door, and chose an elevated bed as his favorite spot. He’s a slow-paced, easygoing guy who loves lounging on the porch, stretching in the sunshine, and - his signature move - lifting his face to sniff the breeze with a big, content smile. Tommy will likely thrive best in a home with another confident, friendly dog. He adores following another dog’s lead, which helps him feel braver and more secure during new experiences. As his foster family, we LOVE Tommy deeply. We are committed to being an ongoing resource for his success. If, for any reason, the adoption isn’t the right fit, please reach out - we will gladly take Tommy back and continue fostering him to ensure he finds the most perfect home. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle soul who will be your quiet shadow, your breeze-sniffing porch buddy, and your loyal friend once he trusts you, Tommy may be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
