Story
We love Finny to pieces—he’s nothing short of an incredible, loving member of our family. We met him while hiking on Mt. Sanitas, when our dear friend Becca was fostering him, and by the end of the hike… we had adopted him. We’ve had Finny for well over a year now. He’s been deeply loved, well trained, and remains a total goofy cuddle bug. He came from the Taos area and was adopted through Rocky Mountain Puppy Rescue, who estimated he was about a year old at the time. When we first brought him home, he was much thinner and a little shy—especially around men. Now he’s fully confident, fluffy, and a happy-go-lucky mushball. He loves to throw balls to himself and kick them around like a tiny soccer player. He knows a bunch of tricks, including “bang bang,” where he dramatically rolls onto his back with his paws in the air. Finny adores snuggles and scratches (especially belly rubs), loves long walks and hikes, and is equally happy to lounge around and chill.

IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Tommy – The Gentle Giant with the Million-Dollar Smile Tommy is a 3-year-old, 75-pound German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his grin. He was rescued from an overcrowded Houston shelter and came to us extremely shy, fearful, and unsure of the world- likely the result of a very troubled past. For months, he needed very patient, gentle fosters to help him feel safe. Because he was given that time, love, and consistency, Tommy has blossomed into the sweetest, calmest, most loyal companion. But it’s important for future adopters to know: Tommy absolutely requires a slow warm-up. He needs people who understand that trust for him is built quietly, steadily, and on his timeline. Once he lets you in, though… it’s magic. In his foster home, Tommy quickly found comfort in his kennel, learned to use the doggy door, and chose an elevated bed as his favorite spot. He’s a slow-paced, easygoing guy who loves lounging on the porch, stretching in the sunshine, and - his signature move - lifting his face to sniff the breeze with a big, content smile. Tommy will likely thrive best in a home with another confident, friendly dog. He adores following another dog’s lead, which helps him feel braver and more secure during new experiences. As his foster family, we LOVE Tommy deeply. We are committed to being an ongoing resource for his success. If, for any reason, the adoption isn’t the right fit, please reach out - we will gladly take Tommy back and continue fostering him to ensure he finds the most perfect home. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle soul who will be your quiet shadow, your breeze-sniffing porch buddy, and your loyal friend once he trusts you, Tommy may be the perfect match you’ve been waiting for. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sophie is a 6-year-old, 56lb spayed German Shepard mix. She is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! This girl has been through more than any dog ever should—and somehow came out the other side with nothing but love to give. Rescued from the streets along with her puppies, we believe Sophie was hit by or thrown from a moving car. She bravely underwent FHO surgery and completed heartworm treatment, and now she’s ready for the happy ending she’s waited so patiently for. Sophie is fully house-trained, crate-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and rides like a champ in the car. She’s a low-energy, easygoing girl who would much rather cuddle than cause chaos, and her sweet, silly personality shines once she feels safe. Sophie has done well with dogs her size or smaller. She is not a constant player and prefers low interaction, setting boundaries when needed. She may be nervous initially, so slow introductions are recommended. Sophie has been around older children and enjoys playing with them; a home with respectful kids ages 10+ would be ideal. Her behavior around cats is unknown. Sophie requires separate feeding from other animals due to mild food guarding, but she is gentle with people and enjoys affection, kisses, and attention. Sophie’s dream home is a loving place where she can finally relax, feel safe, and be someone’s whole world. She doesn’t need another dog—just a cozy couch, a kind human, and a steady supply of belly rubs. Sophie has survived the unimaginable and still chooses sweetness every single day. She’s ready to belong to a forever family who will love her as deeply as she loves them. Meet Marshia ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Marshia is a spayed, 2 year old female German Shepherd Dog mix, weighing around 56lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. Miss Marchy is very spirited, fun loving, ditzy gal! She LOVES to play & is besties with her foster’s 93lb brown lab & their parent’s 65lb golden retriever. She has only played with larger dogs, but did great meeting a neighbor’s shepherd puppy. She can play a little rough sometimes, loosing coordination when running and cannonballing into her playmates, so larger pups are ideal. Although she doesn't always do well following her playmate’s social cues, she will stop & come to you if you call for her. Marshia shares her toys well with her pals and does not get offended easily. She does take some time to warm up to new dog friends, so slow introductions/seperation are advised at first. It won’t be long before she considers them part of her circle, and will be snuggling up with them for slumber parties! She does not react to other dogs while on a leash or in public, heeling next to you while they pass. This sweetie hasn't lived with any children during her time as a foster, but has played well with the neighbor’s children ages 5-14. We would recommend children over 5 only because she may knock them down with her clumsy ways. Marshia has a high prey drive, so cats are a pass for her. Marshia is fully house broken & crate trained! She enjoys time in her crate, considering it her safe spot. She usually falls asleep by her foster’s bed before heading into her crate to snuggle with her beloved toys. She roams free when her people are home & they have only had 2 small instances of her chewing up some pinecones & a cardboard box. Out of caution, the dogs are always feed separately for safety, but Marchy has never shown any signs of food aggression or resource guarding. She takes treats very gently from your hand & loves to show you her shake or spin (dance) for a treat! Although she loves her food, she sits & waits for her "get it" command before eating her meals. She is extremely intelligent & will do amazing protecting your household while providing a loving & cuddly companion! She believes she is a lap dog and will just lean on your legs for pets all day if you let her. She will make sure you’re never lonely, following you around the house like a silent shadow. Marshia is always happy to meet new human friends, even at the vet! Marshia is a bit of an athlete and thinks swimming is the best! She would love to join you on all of your outdoor adventures, especially if there’s a lake. A back yard with a tall fence would be ideal as she can jump VERY high. She would enjoy another dog of her size or larger to play with, but would do great as an only child if her parent/parents are active & can give her lots of love & attention! This sweet girl is the total package and is ready to love you forever! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sarge is a neutered 2 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix currently being fostered in Denver, CO. Sarge is an outgoing, playful, and affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. He is smart, curious, and full of energy, and he thrives when he has opportunities to play, explore, and be active with his people. Sarge loves other dogs and is always eager to make friends. He will happily nudge a dog to invite them to play and enjoys running and tug of war, especially with dogs his size or larger. While he gets excited and may pull toward dogs on leash, he is not aggressive and does well with slow, proper introductions. He is great at picking up on cues and will back off when another dog is done playing. Sarge has a moderate to high energy level and would do best in an active home. He would love daily walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but he could also thrive with a family committed to keeping him exercised. He would do well with or without another dog in the home. On leash, Sarge could use some continued training. He is strong and tends to pull, but he responds well to guidance and does great with a gentle leader. He is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping in his crate overnight and when his people are out. He can also be trusted with free roam, as he is not destructive. Sarge is a total lovebug with people. He is very cuddly, affectionate, and happy to greet new friends, though he may jump a bit when excited. He loves toys and proudly hoards them, lining them up one by one like treasured possessions. One of his cutest habits is doing a full somersault onto his dog bed after running inside. Sarge would be an amazing match for an active person or family looking for an adventure buddy. Older kids or dog savvy children would be best since he can be jumpy when excited. With continued leash training, plenty of toys, and lots of outdoor time, Sarge will be a loyal, joyful companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Meet Tiffany Name: Tiffany DOB: April 23, 2025 Current Weight: 45 pounds (expected to grow to 50 pounds) Health: Healthy, fully vaccinated, spayed Tiffany is a bright, affectionate young girl with a beautiful mix of brains, heart, and playful curiosity. She has that wonderful puppy sparkle — eager to explore the world, happy to be near her people, and always ready for the next adventure or cuddle session. She’s confident without being overwhelming, sweet without being shy, and already showing signs of becoming an incredibly loyal companion. Personality Tiffany is loving, attentive, and people-oriented. She enjoys engaging with her surroundings, learning new things, and being part of daily life. She has a gentle affectionate side that shines during quiet moments and a playful, energetic side that comes out during walks, games, and enrichment time. She bonds deeply and thrives when she feels included and guided. Her mix blends intelligence, loyalty, and athleticism with curiosity and charm. Highly intelligent and eager to learn Active and thrives with mental and physical stimulation Forms strong bonds with their people Does best with structure, routine, and positive training Likely to be medium-large when fully grown This is a wonderful mix for someone who enjoys an engaged, interactive dog and is excited to build a true partnership. Owner Responsibilities Tiffany will need: Daily physical activity and mental enrichment Continued training using patience and positive reinforcement Consistency, routine, and clear boundaries Time, companionship, and inclusion as part of the family She is still growing emotionally and physically and will blossom most with an adopter committed to guiding her through adolescence. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before Adopting Please think carefully about: Your schedule and ability to provide time, structure, and training Your living situation (landlord approval, space, fencing if needed) Long-term plans — moves, lifestyle changes, travel Financial responsibility including food, training, grooming, and vet care The reality of adopting a young dog who is still learning Adopting is not just about today — it’s about committing to every chapter of her life. Vet Care Although Tiffany is healthy, vaccinated, and spayed, it’s important to schedule a visit with your own vet as soon as possible after adoption to establish care and ensure a smooth transition. The 3-3-3 Rule (Important!) First 3 days: Tiffany may feel overwhelmed as everything is new — patience and reassurance are key. First 3 weeks: She’ll begin learning your routine, your home, and what it means to belong. First 3 months: Trust deepens, confidence grows, and her true personality fully shines. This adjustment period is normal and requires understanding, consistency, and love. Why Tiffany Will Be an Amazing Addition Tiffany isn’t just a dog — she’s a companion in the making. She’s the kind of pup who will look to you for guidance, celebrate your presence, and grow into a loyal, loving soul by your side. With the right home, she’ll become a devoted family member, an adventure buddy, and a steady source of joy for years to come. If you’re ready for a lifelong commitment and excited to help a smart, loving young dog grow into her best self, Tiffany is ready to meet you   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.
