Meet Nova, a truly special dog with a heart as big as the star she's named after. This gentle and affectionate girl is a loyal companion who will always be by your side. With a calm and quiet nature, she is the perfect snuggle buddy for relaxing evenings at home. But don't be fooled by her relaxed demeanor — Nova is also an inquisitive soul, always up for exploring the great outdoors and taking in new sights and smells. She is incredibly smart and brave, ready to take on any adventure that comes her way. Nova is an independent thinker with a mind of her own, but her curious nature will always bring her back to you. She is a true friend and a devoted confidant, always ready to lend a listening ear (and she definitely has the ears to listen : ). Her gentle spirit and loving heart make her a wonderful addition to any family. If you're looking for a faithful friend to join you on life's journey, Nova could be the perfect match. Come and meet this wonderful girl today — she just might be the missing piece you've been searching for! Nova is ok with other dogs with slow introductions. She's a calm girl who would prefer a calm friend. She doesn't seem to care about cats. We adopt to approved out-of-state adopters. Transport available to the Northeast/Midwest.

Story
Force is a sweet boy! He is about 7 years old and loves people so much. I got him during the pandemic in 2020 when he was about 1 years old. I was single and working from home at the time, so I was able to give him so much more attention. He loves to be around people, play, and cuddle. While I love him so much and do not want to give him up, he deserves so much more than I can give at this time in my life. Working a job that has me away from the house the majority of the day leaves him home alone for more than 10 hours on some days. I want him to be in a home that he will be able to get attention throughout the day. Additionally, I believe he needs more freedom or ability to roam in a house. Now that I am married and have a baby, he is way more restricted. While he is happy here and I know we would miss each other, I just want him to be in the best situation possible.

Maxwell is very sweet and calm. He loves to run and play. He is crate trained, and has never freely roamed the house without supervision. He needs a family with more time to spend with him.

Story
We adopted Odin from the Atlanta Humane Society when he was a puppy. He is beyond a good dog. He is now seven, and we are unable to give him the exercise he requires. Our schedule doesn't allow us to be as active as it used to be for him. This has caused him to act out by eating off the counters, growling if our baby gets near him, and occasionally showing obedience. This is all on us since we can't get him stimulated as he needs, and that hurts me. I want him to go somewhere that he will get all the attention and exercise that his breed desires. He is a good boy and an awesome companion when he gets to work. He is a bit wild around other dogs, so some may want to fight, but he is friendly if they are equally wild. The fee is to ensure he goes to someone who really wants him and can afford to provide for him.

Story
Mama Mia is a 1.5 year old female Dutch Shepherd mix with a stunning dark brindle coat, a playful spirit, and a zest for life that's impossible not to love. This beautiful girl is always ready for fun and brings joyful energy wherever she goes! One of Mama Mia's favorite things is spending time in the park, where she can run, play, and enjoy every moment to the fullest. Watching her bound across the grass with a happy smile on her face is guaranteed to brighten your day. And when she's finished with her adventures, she knows exactly how to relax. Her favorite spot is a shady spot beneath the rose bush, where the bright red flowers frame her gorgeous brindle coat like a picture-perfect portrait. Mama Mia is also adorable on walks, with a charming little prance as she goes along with you. When she first leaves her kennel, her excitement can get the better of her, and she may pull on the leash as she burns off some pent-up energy. But once she's had a chance to settle in, she becomes a pleasant walking companion who enjoys exploring the world by your side. This sweet girl is looking for a family that will embrace her playful nature and give her plenty of opportunities for exercise, adventure, and love. In return, Mama Mia will fill your days with laughter, companionship, and countless happy memories. So come meet this special girl soon, and let her prance her way right into your heart. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA.
