Story
We adopted Odin from the Atlanta Humane Society when he was a puppy. He is beyond a good dog. He is now seven, and we are unable to give him the exercise he requires. Our schedule doesn't allow us to be as active as it used to be for him. This has caused him to act out by eating off the counters, growling if our baby gets near him, and occasionally showing obedience. This is all on us since we can't get him stimulated as he needs, and that hurts me. I want him to go somewhere that he will get all the attention and exercise that his breed desires. He is a good boy and an awesome companion when he gets to work. He is a bit wild around other dogs, so some may want to fight, but he is friendly if they are equally wild. The fee is to ensure he goes to someone who really wants him and can afford to provide for him.

Story
PLEASE help us keep him out of a shelter! He is in desperate need of a new home and we don't want him back to the shelter but might have no choice. Baloo is the best for being a puppy. He can easily be redirected from any bad behavior. He's guessed to be around 8 months. He is good with cats and kids. He does think cats like him so he does pester them if they are in the same room but can be redirected away from them. Not sure about other dogs or other situations. He knows basic commands. He needs a family who has the time to train and have can give him more attention. He is very loving, smart, and motivated to learn. Our situation changed. we don't have the time or means to keep him. He is going to be an amazing dog for someone!

Story
Meet Cooper! He was being fostered, and the family decided it wasn't a good fit and returned Cooper on 1/7. They did mention that Cooper seems house-trained, good with older children, and good with other dogs. He doesn't seem to know his size, so he would be best in a home with older more dog-savvy kids. Cooper is now keeping his paws crossed for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Cooper as sweet and loving. He is quiet in his kennel and sits nicely for treats. He is a very handsome boy with a super soft coat. Cooper is approximately 5 years old, and weighs 86 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he has been neutered and microchipped. Unfortunately, Cooper did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Cooper is waiting patiently in kennel 873; his ID # is 15391. Story
Mia is a gorgeous 5 year old German shepherd mix that was found as a stray on 1/2. She’s very scared of the shelter environment as it’s very loud but still remains very sweet in demeanor. She’s noted to be house trained, dog friendly but a little shy. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Come meet your new loyal best friend in kennel 803, her ID is 16095. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
