Story
Sirius is a 1 year old Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix with brindle coloring. He is highly intelligent, loves to play fetch and be outside, and equally adores being cuddled and pet by those he is comfortable with. He is loyal, goofy, and an exceptional dog. Due to his intelligence and breed, training will be essential to keep his brain stimulated and to help him improve his confidence. He would be best suited in a home with someone who has experience owning this breed or similar and/or is experienced in dog training/has access to adequate training. He already is housebroken, understands some basic commands, and is eager to please anyone he meets. He does not bark or react to any household noises. He is uncomfortable meeting new people at first and has a tendency to snap to express discomfort but is able to overcome his fears relatively quickly. He is a big softie and is looking for a home that can help him become the best version of himself.

Story
Hi there. As a long-time dog foster mom, I want to tell you about a VERY SPECIAL GIRL, Lily Maureen.   Three-year-old Lily came to our rescue, scared and desperate for someone to care for her. As she started to learn what it was like to be cared for and loved by humans, she discovered that once she gets to know and trusts you, you are her everything. Her idol. Her whole world. And she will love you fiercely like you've never been loved before. This girl is a once-in-a-lifetime companion who will fill any hole in your heart.   With proper introductions, she slowly warmed up to my husband and our three kids. In two weeks, she went from barking at and avoiding my husband, to affectionately shoving herself in his lap for snuggles and belly rubs. She loves all our kids, even the one child who doesn't particularly like animals. And Lily Maureen LOVES romping with and racing our other dogs around the backyard.   Lily is 100% housetrained, and although very playful and puppy-like, she isn't a chewer, and she is great when left alone. She is not crate trained but waits patiently and quietly when gated off for rest or bedtime. She walks well on a leash if not distracted by neighborhood dogs, and sniffing is her favorite pastime (right after snuggling). She is very treat-motivated and learns extremely quickly.    We have worked with a trainer and practiced at home, and Lily has made amazing progress. Her trainer is impressed and says, "I am so excited to see how this dog will blossom!" She needs a home with someone committed to her continued training and socialization, and at least  initially, needs a home with a female caregiver, as she takes longer to warm up to men.   If you are willing to put in some extra time upfront with this beautiful girl, she will repay you tenfold. Will you be her hero?       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Meet Swanky Lola! This 60-pound, 1.5 year-old, German Shepherd mix is an enthusiastic and happy girl who would make a wonderful addition to your family.    Swanky Lola is crate and potty trained. She loves going on walks, riding in the car and is very treat motivated. She is also very affectionate and loves giving kisses and snuggles.    This girl is super smart! She just completed a program with one of our professional training partners where she worked on basic skills such as: place, stay, leash walking, drop it, and not jumping on people. Swanky Lola enjoys brain games and scent work too. It will be important for her adoptive family to continue reinforcing these skills.    Swanky Lola would do best as the only pet in a home, so she can be the center of attention! While she likes other dogs very much, she is still very energetic and a little too eager in her play style. Her personality can be a bit too big for other dogs she meets.    Lola adores people, including older children 12 years of age or older. Her playful exuberance is a bit much for young children. She still has lots of energy, so an active family who will continue with her training and take her for walks and play ball with her would be the best fit for her.     This loving goofball is looking to live her best life, one belly rub at a time! Story
Trainers Dream Dog    I need an owner looking to put the time into me. I am extremely smart and will be an obedient dog that would make a great therapy dog or do great with things like agility courses or maybe even dock diving. But, I'm not quite there yet. Fommy says I'm a handful, but so smart. I need my adopter to really know my breed because I want to work, I want to do things, I want to learn. I love playing fetch and doing enrichment games. And so far, I haven't had those things in life. Please help me to learn. Malinois are very intelligent and alert. They also have strong herding and protection instincts. We are intense dogs who are play-oriented and sensitive. Training should be fun, consistent, and positive.   I am 2.5 years old and already know so many commands and games, I just need someone that's just as excited as I am to learn and do those things.   Right now, my energy level is pretty high and I sometimes think I am tiny! However, I'm 80 pounds, and I may knock over small kiddos, so I should only have older kids in the house. I will also try to herd small children.   I get along great with dogs out and about, but I'm working on sharing my home space. I would probably prefer to just have you all to myself. Fommy says a fenced yard is a must, so that I can continue my training and have lots of space to burn energy.   If you are looking for a loyal partner to spend lots of time with, I'm your guy! Please talk to my Fommy to learn more about me!   For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.   http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms   Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.   Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions.
