Story
Monty is an extremely sweet, playful dog. He's great with our toddler, our cat, chickens, and our elderly Malinois. We bought him from a big ranch as a puppy. He is now a year and a half old. With our second baby on the way, we are unable to give him the amount of attention he needs. He requires a big backyard and a lot of daily play. He has never torn up furniture or anything of the sort, but he's a wildman and recently had surgery to remove a toy rope from his intestine. He is fully healed up from that surgery, but is currently underweight because of the dietary restrictions he was on until recently. The event caused us to realize that we're currently ill-equipped to handle additional dog drama at this point, which is why we've made the decision to rehome our pup. Monty is house trained, and well trained in basic commands, such as sit, down, and stay. He is not fixed, and has pee-marked a few spots in the house randomly, but this is not a regular occurrence.

Story
Hey there, I’m Tiggz! 🐾💛 I’m a 6-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing 48 pounds, with a brindle and white coat that makes me quite the handsome fellow. Life has been a little confusing lately—my owner only had me for a month before deciding they didn’t have enough space for me. So here I am, at the shelter since 03/23/2024, feeling a little lost but still hoping for my real forever home. I may be scared and unsure right now, but I promise you—I am sweet as can be and just want to be loved. I’m a good boy who sits when asked, and I’ll do my best to make you proud. With some kindness, patience, and belly rubs, I know I’ll be the best companion you could ask for! I’m not neutered yet, but I will be upon adoption, and I’m up to date on all my shots and heartworm negative—so I’m all set to go home with you! If you have room in your heart and home for a loyal, gentle soul like me, please come meet me at cage #826. My ID is 8912. I’ll be waiting for you, tail wagging, hoping that this time, I find a love that lasts forever. ❤️🐾 Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Meet Cocoberries! At just 1 year old and 38 pounds, Cocoberries is the perfect mix of playful and polite. She’s a sweet, medium-energy pup who’s still building her confidence but already showing just how special she is.Cocoberries is super friendly with both men and women, and while she hasn’t had the chance to meet kids up close, she’s shown interest in saying hello with a wag and a smile. She walks beautifully on leash—no pulling here!—and happily checks in with her person, even if she gets a little ahead.Though a bit nervous about getting into the car, she let herself be picked up without hesitation and settled in like a champ. That’s Cocoberries in a nutshell—cautious at first, but affectionate and trusting once she knows you`re her friend. She recently had some doggy meet-and-greets and showed friendly body language and a desire to play, though she was a bit unsure. A home with another confident, gentle pup could help her continue to come out of her shell.Cocoberries is affectionate, shy in new situations, and always polite. She’s working on her confidence and would love a patient, loving family to cheer her on as she blossoms. If you’re looking for a loyal little buddy who will grow with you, Cocoberries might be your perfect match.

Story
Nathaniel is an adorable, affectionate Shepherd mix who is 4 years old and weighs 57 lbs. He recently lost his foster home due to no fault of his own and is in immediate need of a foster or adopter to get him out of boarding. Nathaniel has been through training, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. He is a bit shy & timid from his extended time in boarding, but prior to losing his foster home he was a happy, playful, loyal dog who loved being with his people and doing zoomies through his house & yard. He has medium energy and is gentle when taking treats from your hand. He&#39s looking for a person who will help him build confidence so a home without other dogs or with submissive female dog(s) would be ideal. Nathaniel is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, fully vaccinated & microchipped. If you&#39re interested in fostering or adopting Nathaniel, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org, or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2 hours of the Roswell area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.March 4, 2025, 3:54 pm

Story
Please come to meet Buddy Buddy is a wonderful, happy, and super adorable boy. We saved him from a rural shelter. He was very underweight and timid. Since then, he just blossomed. He is such a lovable, affectionate, and huggable boy. He&#39s our sweet teddy-bear, who loves snuggles, kisses, and cuddles. He looks like he is smiling all the time. Buddy is a German Shepherd, who is around 3 years old and weighs about 56 lb. He is looking for his forever family, who could give him love and attention he truly deserves. He is highly intelligent and learns new tricks very quickly. This smart boy is a very good student, who masters commends fast. Buddy is longing for a family, who could love and cherish him. He has a medium energy level, but would love to have a fenced yard. He enjoys going for a walk or hanging in the backyard with his family where he can play and explore. He loves new adventures and is fascinated with car rides. He is funny and a bit goofy when he plays, but when he walks, he looks gorgeous and stunning. Buddy is fully vetted, and is crate and house trained. He is also neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Story
HOLT is a beautiful, affectionate, senior Shepherd mix who is about 9 years old and weighs 60 lbs. In June of 2024, this super sweet senior was found wandering alone & afraid on Holt Rd (hence the name) in Fayette County, GA. He was terrified & confused and his rescuers thought maybe he had somehow ended up on the street after being owned by an elderly person who passed away. Once at the shelter, the amazing Fayette County AC staff & volunteers spent 2 months gaining HOLT&#39s trust enough so that he could relax & be fully vetted/neutered. In September of 2024, once HOLT was completely healthy & felt safe being around new people, BarkVille Dog Rescue was able to pull him from the shelter and place him in one of their amazing foster homes. Here&#39s what HOLT&#39s foster family has to say about HOLT ... &#34HOLT is the most loving, loyal, gentle companion a family could ask for. He LOVES being with his people and he thrives in a calm, quiet, stable home. His needs are minimal and he is a super easy keeper. We think there&#39s a chance that his eyesight and possibly his hearing may be limited. He appears to have mapped routes for himself throughout our home that he likes to travel daily and that he prefers not to stray from. He will not, under any circumstances, go up or down any of the carpeted stairs inside our house, but he easily goes up & down the deck stairs into our backyard. He enjoys being out in the fenced yard where he feels safe and happily walks freely to relieve himself. He has never once had an accident in our home and he has proven himself to be a very unlikely flight risk as he only likes to travel familiar routes with his person by his side (he is sometimes too nervous to move until his foster mom puts a slip lead on him & encourages him to move forward with her). He does not like to go for walks or even go down his driveway to the sidewalk, preferring to stay near the garage and the yard that&#39s familiar to him. He knows when meal times are approaching every day and he positions himself in the same spot in the kitchen where he proceeds to do his happy/spinny celebration dance until his food is placed down on the floor for him! He peacefully coexists with the 3 personal dogs in his foster home, but his ideal situation may be as an only dog unless the adopter&#39s dogs are calm, stable, obedient dogs who will not engage if HOLT accidentally steps on them or walks into them. Slow introductions with other dogs will definitely be required until HOLT feels completely safe in his new environment and his canine companions recognize his limitations and do not feel threatened by him in their space. HOLT LOVES to tool around town with his foster mom in her minivan! He is a polite, quiet, perfect gentleman in the car, and will happily run errands with you all day as long as you don&#39t ask him to get out of the car until you&#39re back home in your garage where he feels safe! This boy is the real deal and is the absolute epitome of &#34man&#39s best friend.&#34 He may be a senior, but he is in good health and with the appropriate love & attention could easily have another 4-6 really good years ahead of him. If you live a quiet, simple life and can appreciate the gentle, loving, kindness of an amazing companion dog, then there is a very good chance that HOLT is the dog for you!&#34 If you have additional questions about HOLT or would like to meet this very special boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application for him at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.March 21, 2025, 2:02 pm
