Story
Maisy is absolutely adorable! She loves treats and toys and wants to be your new best friend. She isn't always sure about new people and might bark at first, but if you give her a chance to get to know you she is a bouncy, playful girl with love to give! KNOWN WITH DOGS: Maisy engages in chase play and some wrestling with dogs that match her style but she can play too rough for some dogs and needs some guidance on when to take breaks. KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not currently know how they are with cats. If that is needed, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! KNOWN WITH KIDS: We are not sure how they do with kids. KNOWN COMMANDS: Maisy knows a lot of commands, we're still learning which ones she knows well. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Maisy does well in her Kennel at the Trails Home Farm, we don't know her level of crate training. KNOWN LIKES: Treats and Toys KNOWN DISLIKES: None currently known. ___________________________________ If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: trailshomefarm@homewardtrails.org PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION:Trails Home Farm ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Trails Home Farm HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: All dogs located at Trails Home Farm are in Delaplane, VA and require an appointment for approved applicants to have a meet and greet. Story
https://foha.org/pet/milo2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Milo (pronounced MEE-LO)—a small dog with a big heart! I’m a sweet, speedy little guy who loves both playful adventures and peaceful moments. I have a cute routine of carrying a chew toy in my mouth when I’m getting ready for walks. I enjoy spending time outside soaking up the sun and doing my lightning-fast zoomies. After a fun outing, I’m the perfect co-pilot who curls up and naps in the car. I’m a bit timid at first but eager to connect with my people. I’ve thrived in a home environment and have done well living with other dogs, though I do appreciate breaks from them sometimes. I’m loyal, intelligent, and affectionate—just the right companion for active yet cozy days. And make sure to scroll down past my bio to see all the AMAZING videos my foster mom has posted! You can really see how much I thrive in a home, and maybe it’ll help you see how I could be in your home and heart! HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Good with dogs with proper introductions. I’ve lived with multiple dogs and did great, but I may need patience and breaks from them occasionally. HOW AM I WITH CATS: I am a bit too interested in cats and would do best in a home without feline friends. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: Unknown. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Sit, stay, come. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I have good house manners! THINGS I LIKE: Chew toys, sunny yard time, car rides, cuddling, zoomies. THINGS I DISLIKE: Storms, sudden dog encounters in public places. FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS – https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies/ ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag starter food, 1 month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical procedures as recommended by our vet. My adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor!!

Good with dogs,
Story
Current Location: Maurertown, VA Meet Farah, a bold little firecracker with a big personality packed into a compact, Jack Russell–style body. This girl is confident, outgoing, and absolutely full of life. She does nothing halfway. When Farah is awake, she is ready to move, think, play, and be heard. Farah is extremely energetic and thrives with frequent activity, mental challenges, and clear structure. She is very vocal and has strong opinions about when it is time for fun, attention, or training. She loves people, engages fast, and brings an intensity that is best matched by an active household that enjoys working with a smart, driven dog. She is highly food and praise motivated, which makes her an excellent training prospect. Farah wants a job and she wants feedback. With consistency and outlets for her energy, she will shine in training, games, agility style activities, or any environment where her brain and body are kept busy. Because of her volume and determination, Farah would not be a good fit for apartment living. She needs space, activity, and people who appreciate a vocal, enthusiastic dog who expresses herself clearly and often. In the right home, Farrah will be an absolute star. Farah is not for the faint of heart, but for the right active person or family, she will be endlessly entertaining, deeply engaging, and incredibly rewarding. She is learn, ready to work, and ready to give her whole bold heart to someone who can keep up. Find out more about Farah on her foster's website as well, AnotherGoodDog.org

Current Location: Maurertown, VA Faye is a gentle soul with soft fur and a sweet heart. She starts shy but warms up fast and loves to cuddle once she trusts you. She is the heaviest pup in her litter and carries herself with calm, steady confidence. ENERGY AND PERSONALITY Faye has balanced energy. She enjoys playtime, short walks, and simple activities, then settles easily for rest. She is curious and thoughtful. She likes to explore at her own pace and checks in often for comfort and affection. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR She responds well to food and praise. She is learning quickly and shows a thoughtful approach to new experiences. She does best with gentle guidance. She flourishes when she feels safe and supported. SOCIAL LIFE Faye is good with cats, dogs, and new people. She is timid when she is alone but playful and bold when she is with her littermates. She will likely do well in a home with another friendly dog who can boost her confidence and show her the ropes. She will be a wonderful match for someone who wants a gentle companion with a warm heart.

Story
Current Location: Lusby, MD Meet Ragnar, lovingly called Rags. He is one of those quiet souls who gently steals your heart. Rags is a little timid right now, but you can see the confidence building every day. He has been wonderful in his crate and enjoys having his own space to relax. After a few early nervous dribbles, he has had no accidents in the house and is already settling into a routine. He is still on the thin side, but his appetite is strong and treats are quickly becoming a favorite part of his day. He recently met his foster’s resident dog and did great. He was cautious at first, then curious, with that full body wiggle that says he wants to be friends but is still figuring things out. He is friendly and affectionate in his own gentle way, standing back at first before sneaking in for a quick pet. Rags will need some leash practice and help learning his basic commands, but he is eager, sweet, and clearly ready to learn. Watching him discover safety, kindness, and consistency is already a joy. With a little patience and a lot of love, Ragnar is going to blossom into a truly wonderful companion.

He’s friendly with people, dogs, AND cats, making him the ultimate social butterfly (minus the wings… although, with his charm, he might as well fly).     Looking for a buddy who’s sweet as can be, adores life, and is ready to love you unconditionally? Then Merle is your guy. Don’t wait — apply today and scoop up this cutie before someone else does. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Chihuahua Mix Male (neutered) - Adult Looking for that smart, funny guy that can go anywhere and considers new adventures the very best thing in life?  Just pick up a leash and Ace starts dancing around ready to roll. And speaking of rolling, rolling around on the couch or in bed is probably his second most favorite thing to do.  So expect to share both with him and expect to laugh. Treats can also be used to persuade him in to learning cute tricks and are expected when he heads to his crate because that's what a good boy does. Want a dance partner, Ace is your guy. He can do the best little hind leg twirling. He also does love to give soft kisses and snuggles and his coat is so soft, who wouldn't want to snuggle with him. He also watches and is incredibly smart, he may think he is a bit human too.  Ace is a 2-3 years old chihuahua/spitz mix who is fully vetted. Crate trained but not his favorite thing and remember the treat. Potty trained, set ground rules about marking when he enters his new environment and he is smart so knows its not allowed. He has a voice and is not a barker but probably not the best for an apartment. Ace is good with canine family members (a little loud when he plays).  Cats are ok too.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org.
