Story
Rain is a rare thing here in Southern California, and somehow it was during a storm that this unforgettable little guy made his entrance into the world of people who would finally help him. One rainy evening, a woman heard strange noises outside her home. When she went to investigate, she found Zoboomafoo standing there in the downpour, missing most of his fur except for the long tufts on his ears, his skin covered in painful scabs and lesions. She knew immediately he needed help.Believing he was a pug, she searched for pug rescues, found us, and drove through the pouring rain to bring him to safety. When Zoboomafoo arrived, we were heartbroken by his condition but also completely taken by how unique and special he is. It was clear he had been neglected for a long time before finding his way to us. Based on his appearance and background, we believe Zoboomafoo is likely a “fluffy Frenchie,” a designer mix often produced through irresponsible breeding, which can unfortunately lead to serious medical issues like the ones he has endured.Once in our care, Zoboomafoo finally began receiving the treatment he so desperately needed. His cracked, itchy skin and bleeding sores have improved significantly, and while we cannot guarantee that all of his fur will grow back, his skin is softer, healthier, and far more comfortable now. He does still have some lumps and bumps, but they are not painful, and with continued care, he is expected to keep improving. Zoboomafoo will need an adopter who is comfortable staying on top of ongoing medical and grooming needs, including regular medicated baths for the foreseeable future.Zoboomafoo is estimated to be around 5.5 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. What he lacks in fur, he more than makes up for in personality. He is completely devoted to his people and absolutely thrives on human attention. If he had his way, he would be the center of your universe and honestly… he deserves it. Because of this, he may do best as the only dog in the home, though he does enjoy playing with other dogs. He has a tendency to become possessive over his people out of deep attachment and a desire to feel secure. Zoboomafoo loves to play, especially chasing toys, but his true passion is cuddling. Walks are not his favorite activity, but curling up next to his favorite person absolutely is. After everything he has been through, he is clearly soaking up every ounce of love he can get. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with medical dogs or is willing to learn, someone who understands that caring for him is part of loving him. In return, Zoboomafoo will give unwavering devotion, endless snuggles, and the kind of bond that only comes from truly saving a life. He is rare, he is special, and he is ready for a home that will love him exactly as he is. Could that be you? Please inquire today!

Story
How adorable is little Chiclet?!? This brave girl is a true survivor with a spirit as big as her heart. Chiclet was found dragging herself around the streets, unable to use her hind legs, before being impounded at a local shelter. Her journey didn’t stop there—shortly after we picked her up, Chiclet had a major health scare and ended up in emergency care. She fought through a pyometra, severe dehydration, and a nasty kidney infection, and somehow, this tough cookie pulled through. Today, she carries a look that says, “I stared death in the face and won!!!”At around 5 years old, Chiclet is a ray of sunshine. She’s sweet to everyone she meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Although she’s paralyzed in her hind legs, that doesn’t slow her down—she’s a pro at scooting around using her front legs, and she thrives when using her wheelchair. Chiclet’s zest for life is nothing short of inspiring!Caring for Chiclet does come with a few special needs. Her bladder and bowels need to be expressed several times a day, but don’t worry—it quickly becomes second nature, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way if you’re new to it. Chiclet would thrive in a home where her adopter isn’t gone for long hours and ideally has experience with special needs dogs—or is ready and willing to learn. In return, Chiclet will shower you with endless love, snuggles, and smiles. She has the kind of heart that can light up a room and the determination to make the best of every day. Chiclet’s journey may have started with challenges, but her future is full of hope. Are you ready to give this incredible little warrior the loving home she deserves? Please inquire today!

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to LAX💟 Meet Klein💚 💙 Klein’s News Account: @klein__55 1.) Health Condition * Spayed. * Microchipped and heartworm negative. 2.) Rescue Story * Klein was rescued from a slaughterhouse in Jeongeup along with her four siblings when they were very young. She stayed at the Jeongeup shelter for about a year. However, when she and her siblings were placed on the euthanasia list, Adogs stepped in and saved them, including Klein. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Tends to be quite shy. So when she first arrived at her foster home, she was wary and scared of her foster parents. Now, feels more comfortable at home and does not avoid them when they approach and sit by her. She wags her tail, whines in affection, and approaches! Seems to rely more on her foster mom in new environments. When there are strangers around, she’ll approach the women first to sniff them, but avoids men and runs away. If a stranger gives her a treat, she’ll take it and run away to eat it in her own space. Met young children at a dog-friendly cafe, but didn’t show interest in them. * With Dogs: Feels more comfortable around dogs than people. Approaches other dogs wagging her tail, but only sniffs them gentlly and politely — is a very mannered and gentle dog. Becomes more social and greets familiar dogs more actively. * With Cats: Tends to chase cats she encounters on walks and pulls on the leash. Caution is needed. * Separation Anxiety: When her foster parents were out for about an hour, she chewed things she could see and peed indoors. She barked and howled too. Her foster parents gave her longer walks and spent more time letting her use nosework toys. There’s an anti-opening device on the door so she can no longer open the door, and her behavior has improved. She’s being trained for separation anxiety. * Potty Training: Indoor potty training is still in progress, with about a 70% success rate on pads. Prefers to relieve herself outdoors and always poops outside. * Hygiene: Doesn't enjoy baths or brushing, but tolerates them well. Is still a bit scared of the dryer and tends to run away to avoid it. For nail trimming, one more person is needed to hold her while another trims her nails. Her guardian is currently introducing her to tooth brushing gently with a soft gauze and rubber toothbrush. * Walks: Pulls hard on the leash when she sees cats. She’s gained confidence and has become stubborn on walks, so she’s being retrained. * Car Sickness: Doesn’t get car sick but is scared of bright lights like neon signs at night, preferring to be held by a person for comfort. * Biting: Never shows possessive, defensive, or aggressive biting behavior. * Barking: Occasionally whines briefly when her guardian comes home or comes back into a room. * Likes: Loves sleeping, treats, and going for walks. Enjoys lying on the grass and relaxing during walks outside. Likes biting hard objects like charger cables, plastic hangers, pencils, shoes, etc. Enjoys lying on the couch when her foster parents are not around. Likes being warm, so she enjoys wearing clothes. She even sleeps much more comfortably when wearing clothes! * Dislikes: Is scared when strangers approach or when she hears loud noises. Is frightened by neon signs and bright lights when riding in a car at night. Dislikes sitting on cold floors. Is afraid to go into a small, dark space, so she's reluctant to go into kennel or doggy house. * Tricks: Didn’t respond to her name at first, she’s started to show interest when she hears her name and sometimes even comes! Is being trained to give her paw, but doesn’t like her paws being touched. Is being trained to go in her kennel, but she still prefers to go in to take treats out rather than stay inside.

Story
Romy is a sweet three year old Frenchie who loves everyone! Romy is a loving “velcro” pup, she wants to be close to her people all the time! She loves other dogs, kids, strangers, and every person she meets. Romy wants nothing more than to be loved, and petted, and snuggled all the time! She is a healthy girl, with the normal Frenchie considerations —her breathing can be heavy when she is stressed, in extreme heat, or after long walks. Romy has been fully vaccinated, spayed and given a clean bill of health by our vet. She is quiet (other than the classic adorable Frenchie snore!), Romy is house trained, non-destructive, and generally very well behaved. She has the most loving personality and wants to sit by your side while you work on the computer or watch TV. She loves to play with other calm dogs, and would be great in a home with another dog. Romy is a happy girl that would be a wonderful addition to any family who has the time to give her the love and attention she needs and deserves. If you'd like to meet Romy, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com We're adopting out to Los Angeles or Orange county areas. Adoption donation $500

Story
Blue is one of my french bulldog puppies that was born out of an accidental litter. I was able to rehome 3 puppies but still have 3 not including mom and dad so 5. Blue does not get along with the dad and sometimes his sister pups. He is a diaper baby aswell and needs to have a diaper on when in the house because he does not poo or pee like normal and needs to be seen by a vet. I dont have the time or money put towards him other than making sure he is fed and has a place to sleep. But he is so cute and i love him but i want someone to have him who can really love on him and give him what he needs. All he wants is someone to pet and love and play with him and unfortunately i cant do that right now. Blue is the perfect pet for someone who doesnt have any other pets and wants one to take care of like theyre child.
