Story
With a name like Champion Blue, you might expect a superstar...and this little guy sure lives up to it! At 10 years old and 17 pounds, Champion Blue has already overcome a lot in life, having been abandoned at a shelter simply for being a senior with a few minor medical needs. Thankfully, the shelter reached out to us to take him in and now he's ready to find the forever home he’s been dreaming of.Don’t let his age fool you Champion Blue has a spark of mischief and energy that will make you smile every day. He takes daily gabapentin for arthritis and an anti-inflammatory to keep him comfortable, but that doesn’t stop him from zooming across the room for treats, toys, or just to join the action. He’s a little wobbly on his feet sometimes, but his heart is full of courage, curiosity, and pure joy.Champion Blue loves the simple pleasures in life: cuddles on the couch, gentle pets, and long, lazy lounging sessions where he can soak up all the attention. But don’t be surprised if the quiet is broken by a sudden burst of playful zoomies or a funny little hop - he’s silly, spunky, and completely charming. He gets along with other dogs, especially calm companions who understand his pace, and he’s ready to share his home with someone who will adore him and help him age gracefully. Champion Blue’s perfect match is a quiet household, filled with love, patience, and lots of lap time. He may be a senior, but his heart is young, and he’s ready to be your loyal, goofy, and utterly lovable sidekick. He may have had a rough start, but his next chapter will be the happiest yet! Could you be the hero to his story? Please inquire today!

Story
Scoby is a 7-year-old, 20-pound pup who came to us as a stray. Life hasn’t been easy for him - his past shows in his cautious nature, and he can be reactive at times. He does have a bite history, which tells us he had to navigate a world where he couldn’t always trust people. But here’s the amazing part: despite everything he’s been through, Scoby is capable of trust, love, and loyalty.Once he feels safe and knows he’s in a stable, calm environment, Scoby’s sweet, affectionate side shines through. Treats, gentle encouragement, and a patient hand are all it takes to help him feel secure, and he’s surprisingly quick to warm up when he realizes he’s safe. He has a strong personality, but underneath it is a dog who wants nothing more than to be loved and to belong.Scoby would do best in a home without small children and as the only dog, where he can take his time learning to relax and feel confident. With the right family, he can thrive and show the kind of loyalty and devotion that only a dog who’s fought so hard for survival can give. He’s ready to leave the uncertainty of his past behind and step into a future full of love, comfort, and safety. This boy has been through a lot, but he still has so much love to give. With patience and consistency Scoby will become a true companion who rewards your trust with affection, playfulness, and that loyal presence only a dog like him can offer. Could you be the one to give him that second chance? Please inquire today!

Story
Meet Bentley, a charming 10-year-old gentleman who is looking for a loving forever home. Bentley's previous owner had to move to a memory care facility, and her daughter has been taking care of him since. Unfortunately, she isn't able to keep him long-term, so we are hoping to find Bentley a new family to share his golden years with.Bentley is up to date on all his shots and is neutered. He has a special fondness for the outdoors, so a home with a yard or a family that enjoys spending time outside would be perfect for him. Bentley might need a little refresher on house training, but with patience and consistency, he'll settle in nicely. This sweet boy gets along well with female dogs and would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention or have a gentle female companion. Bentley's gentle nature and love for outdoor activities make him an ideal companion for a family looking for a loyal and loving pet.If you're ready to give Bentley the loving home he deserves, please inquire today!

Story
Avaric was pulled from a local shelter after being red-listed due to severe emaciation. He was in urgent need of rescue placement so he could safely begin gaining weight and receive proper care, and we’re so glad he’s now with us at Pug Nation. When Avaric arrived, he was dangerously underweight and had clearly gone a long time without consistent food. To keep him safe while starting to gain weight he started on multiple small meals a day to avoid refeeding syndrome, and he’s been doing great! He’s already gained some weight and continues to improve, though he still has more to gain. After thorough vet exams and lab work, there’s no underlying medical cause for his condition. He was simply starved. Now that he’s feeling a bit better, Avaric’s personality is coming through. He’s extremely food motivated (understandably), energetic, and full of life. He loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has a big voice when food is involved. He’s also wonderfully unique looking, with one floppy ear, one upright ear, a big underbite, and long, deer-like legs. We think he may be a Chihuahua–Pug mix, and he’s as silly as he is adorable!Avaric would do best in a home with an active owner who isn’t gone long hours and can continue helping him gain weight and confidence. He’s ready for a life filled with regular meals, adventure, and the love he missed out on for far too long. Interested in giving this incredibly resilient dog the home he truly deserves? Story
Meet Buttons and Bowtie! These two have already been through a big life change together, and if there’s one thing that’s obvious about them... it’s that they’re sticking together no matter what!Buttons and Bowtie came to us after their owners divorced and neither person was able to keep them. Since arriving, they’ve leaned on each other the whole way through. They sleep together, hang out together, and move through life like a little two-dog team. Suffice to say, they must be adopted to the same home together. Their personalities are actually pretty different, which somehow makes them even more fun as a pair!Bowtie, the black 2-year-old, is the easygoing one. He’s sweet, affectionate, and just sort of rolls with whatever is happening. New dog? Cool. Couch nap? Amazing. Walk time? Sounds good. He has this calm, adaptable energy that makes him easy to have around, and he’s a huge fan of cuddling and lounging.Buttons, the 5-year-old fawn boy, is a little more opinionated. He was born with a malformation in one of his front legs, so he looks a bit different, but it doesn’t slow him down at all. He still enjoys walks, playtime, and gets around just fine. Honestly, he seems completely unbothered by it. Buttons has a little more spunkiness to him and can sometimes act like he’s the boss with other dogs outside of Bowtie, but he does well in calmer playgroups and one-on-one interactions.Together though, they balance each other out perfectly. Their previous owners said they did well with cats and were friendly with children too. Overall, they’re just a really lovable pair of dogs who want a home where they can settle in again and stay for good this time. And honestly, there’s something very nice about adopting a bonded pair. They already have their built-in best friend. You just get to join the club! Interested in these adorable little boys? Please inquire today!

Story
Say hello to Broccoli! He’s about 2.5 years old, 19 pounds, and still figuring out that the world can actually be a safe place.Broccoli came to us after being bounced between homes, most recently relinquished when his previous situation wasn’t a good fit. All the changes have left him a little unsure, and when things feel overwhelming, he tends to shut down rather than lean in. But you can already see the good dog underneath it all starting to peek through.Right now, Broccoli is in that “learning to trust again” stage. He’s cautious in new environments and needs time to feel comfortable, especially with big groups or too much commotion. Smaller, calmer dog interactions are much more his speed, and he does well in those settings once he has a chance to settle. With people, he’s gentle and soft. He may not come rushing up right away, but he’s observant and slowly warms up when things feel consistent and safe. He’s also good with children, as long as the environment is calm and respectful of his space. What Broccoli really needs is stability. A quiet home, a predictable routine, and someone who understands that trust for him takes time but is absolutely possible. He’s still young and has plenty of room to grow into a confident, happy dog with the right support. He’s the dog who quietly learns where the soft places are in life and eventually decides to stay. And once he does, that’s when you get the version of Broccoli that makes it all worth it. Interested in giving Broccoli the forever home he's been dreaming of? Please inquire today!
