Story
This incredibly sweet girl is looking for an exceptional forever home. She is well-socialized and has been lovingly fostered with other dogs, making her a wonderful companion for many types of households. She lost one of her eyes prior to entering rescue, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit; she’s happy, resilient, and full of life. Her loving nature makes her truly special. She adores attention, thrives on affection, and would love nothing more than to be your #1 girl. When her person is around, she couldn’t care less about other dogs, she just wants to be close to you. She loves to snuggle, be held, and soak up all the love and pets she can get. She’s also perfectly content sitting beside you on the couch (though with her short little legs, she’ll need a little help getting up by use of stairs or in your loving arms). As part of her adoption, the rescue covers the cost of her spay, microchip, deworming, and first vaccinations, including rabies. She will also go home with a collar and/or harness, along with permanent rescue ID tags. She’s ready to bring endless love and joy to the right home.....could that be yours? This girl has been through so much, and it’s finally her turn to be cherished. Before rescue, she lost her eye, was found wandering as a stray, heavily pregnant, until a good Samaritan brought her to the shelter. She arrived with a severe ear infection and was vomiting, but with proper care, she’s now thriving. We’ve learned she loves salmon (no chicken for this girl!) and does best relaxing for a few minutes after meals instead of jumping right into playtime. She was so lucky to land in our safety net, now she just needs her forever person. She does know how to use the dog door and she uses the potty pads pretty consistently. All she wants is your love, and she will give you 10,000% loyalty in return.. ***************************************************************************** PLEASE NO CALLS OR TEXTS AS WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED: saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form If listed, dog is available. Once dog is pending adoption, this page will reflect that information. ***************************************************************************** Standard Rescue Disclaimer and Information: -Please no texts or calls, apply if interested. -All of our French bulldogs must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). -The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a French Bulldog or a Frenchie Mix. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-65 per month) -We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. -This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools. Lucky came to rescue as a breeder surrender alongside several of his siblings. Thankfully, he was never used for breeding and now gets to enjoy the carefree, happy life he deserves. He has since been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully embraced his favorite hobby: pool time! (*mini kiddy pool that is) Lucky is the kind of dog that brings fun and laughter wherever he goes. His absolute favorite thing in the world is splashing around in his little pool, and he would love a home that will let him continue his favorite pastime. Whether he’s zooming around the yard, chasing a ball, wrestling with dog friends, or happily cooling off in the water, he is always enjoying life to the fullest. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and would thrive in a home with playful canine companions, a secure backyard to explore, and the freedom to come in and out at his leisure. Beyond his playful side, Lucky is also incredibly easygoing, affectionate, friendly, happygolucky and loving. He’s the perfect mix of fun adventure buddy and sweet companion. Life with Lucky is guaranteed to be full of smiles, entertainment, and plenty of "poolside" fun. Though he loves his little pool, unfenced pools would be a no, as it could yield major safety concerns due to his love for water, and inability to swim. Story
This adorable little guy just turned one year old on April 1, 2026. His given name, Foo, is derived from a Chinese character “福” (foo) and holds special symbolic meaning to his prior family, though he’s also affectionately known to us as Gary. Gary’s story is a unique one and not your typical rescue case. He came to us after being impeccably cared for, truly a dog who has always known love. No trauma, no abuse, and no expense was spared in his upbringing. He attended every vaccine vet visit; his previous owners even purchased him from a breeder for over $6,000.00 and he was surrendered with his AKC-certified pedigree papers outlining his lineage. His owners were moving out of the State and chose not to take him with them. Gary has a wonderfully easygoing temperament and is well-socialized with dogs of all sizes. He’s a happy, adaptable companion who enjoys being part of the action. While he hasn't been a barker, he will scratch at the door just to be near you, even if you’re only in the next room. Because of his desire to be your velcro buddy, he would thrive in a home where someone is around often or can include him in daily adventures. We think due to Garys very social demeanor, he would really benefit from having a friend, with that said, we are seeking an adopter with another canine companion for Gary. If you’re looking for an incredibly loving, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Gary could be the perfect match. We would even consider Gary for a home with children because his temperament is so mild mannered and easy going for the breed. He met a cat and showed no reaction whatsoever, so a feline home will also be considered. ***************************************************************************** More info on his name: The Chinese character “福” (foo) carries rich and layered auspicious meanings in Chinese culture 1. Blessing / Good Fortune: Represents overall luck and positive life circumstances. 2. Happiness: A deep sense of joy, contentment, and emotional well-being. 3. Prosperity: Associated with wealth, success, and abundance in life. 4. Good Luck: Often used to attract favorable outcomes and smooth paths ahead. 5. Longevity & Well-being: Implies a healthy, long life filled with peace and stability. 6. Family Harmony: Symbolizes unity, warmth, and happiness within the family. ***************************************************************************** COLLAR OR HARNESS & PERMANENT PET ID TAG PROVIDED TO ADOPTER. Story
I’m Jewels! I'm a 4-year-old female Frenchie. I was found as a stray in the streets of LA. Sadly, my family never looked for me, and I am now available for adoption. I will do best in a home as an only dog with a big yard to play with and run and a comfy couch where I can be next to my hoomans to chill and get belly rubs while we hang out. I will do good on doggie play dates with no treats, food or toys around. I can be a bit selfish at times. Typical Frenchie personality for those who know my breed. Other than that, I’m pretty chill and such a good girl. If you would like to meet, don’t hesitate to send my Rescue a message to arrange a meet and greet!! Please contact my rescue here: 562-328-5276 (Text or call)

Story
Espresso is a small mixed-breed dog with a deeply complex and heartbreaking background. Her mother has been DNA tested as 53% Boston Terrier, 30% Chihuahua, and 12% Miniature Pinscher, and her reported father is a merle French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix, giving Espresso a strong small-breed genetic foundation. Born approximately October 2022, Espresso’s early life was marked by neglect and repeated trauma. She was bred during her very first heat cycle to her own father and lived in a junk yard environment before rescue. In that setting, she was never allowed indoors, never treated as part of a family, and never given the comfort or safety a young dog should know. Prior to rescue, she never had a dog bowl to eat from, only ate off the floor from dumped food on the ground. Despite this, Espresso remained gentle and soft-natured. She was later brought into rescue in a critical condition, heavily pregnant and parvovirus positive. She became a parvo survivor in October 2023, overcoming a life-threatening illness that required intensive, round-the-clock medical care. Her survival was part of a much larger rescue effort involving her entire family line, many of whom were also medically fragile and a sibling who was parvo positive. With constant, round-the-clock care required to save them, her family group was given coffee-themed names Espresso’s temperament reflects both her past and her resilience. She is shy and reserved, especially in unfamiliar environments. She does not like being picked up or heavily handled unless she chooses to approach and initiate contact. What she offers instead is something quieter and more subtle; trust that is earned slowly, and connection that is steady once it is built. She is not a high-affection or “velcro” dog, and she should not be expected to become one. Espresso is an independent, sensitive soul who bonds in her own way and at her own pace. She thrives in calm environments with structure, patience, and predictability, and she gains confidence significantly from the presence of other friendly dogs. In a home with canine companions, Espresso truly comes alive in her own gentle way, running and playing with other dogs, observing her surroundings, and eventually settling in close proximity to her another canine companion. Once she feels safe, she often chooses to quietly sleep at the foot of the human bed, simply happy to be near without pressure or expectation. She was previously adopted by someone who cared deeply and invested in her well-being, but ultimately misunderstood her nature and wanted a dog she could pick up and kiss and carry around etc.. Efforts to change her reserved personality through excessive handling and anxiety medication did not align with what Espresso actually needed. She is not a dog who needs to be fixed....she is a dog who needs to be understood. Espresso is house-trained, gentle, and inherently sweet. She will do best in a calm, patient home that understands shy dogs and is willing to let trust develop naturally over time without force. She is an ideal match for adopters with other social dogs (she would not do well without another canine) and a compassionate heart for letting a quiet, overlooked dog finally feel safe. She tends to love women and may bark at men. Due to her scared nature, its imperative for her to have a secure yard. She is 100% potty trained by use of a dog door. If you think you can give Espresso the stability she needs, please do submit an adoption application. We would love to hear from you!

Story
We took in Fiona close to 2 years ago. A family friend was moving out of the country & was going to surrender Fiona to a shelter, so my family took her in. Fiona came from a home that did not give her much attention or the love she needed. Fiona is obsessed with people & LOVES affection. However, she has behavioral issues with other dogs. We have a family dog and Fiona gets along with him for the most part, but does attack him if she’s triggered. Fiona would thrive in a household that will only have her as the only pet. Fiona won’t pee indoors as long as she has access to the outside. She was never fully house trained at night. She will wake up several times to use the potty, therefore, she needs access. Fiona is so needy, sweet, stubborn, & a typical bulldog. We love her, but we know it puts so much stress on her after a fight with the other dog. We want what is best for Fiona & want her to have the chance to be the only dog and go to a loving home. No first time pet owner.
