Cowboy is a very lucky boy. He was out in the fields near the Hansen Dam Equestrian Center. The lovely people at the barn tried for days to catch him. Being only 34 pounds, they were so worried about him surviving the coyotes. They got him and we took him on!!! Cowboy is such a fun and playful boy. He learned the ropes of home living pretty quickly. He is doing well on his walks, is crate trained and a cuddler. His face, ears and little nub tail are everything. He is still fun puppy energy. His size breed and personality make him irresistible! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Agnes is the tiny French Bulldog firecracker you didn’t know you needed! This little mama was intercepted in Van Nuys on her way to the shelter after getting out a couple of times and having puppies; her babies were all given away, and only Agnes came into rescue. Now she’s safe in foster care, catching up on the puppyhood she never really got to have. Agnes is a wonderful mix of sugar and spice. She’s very sweet, listens well, and is totally house-trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night, and during the day she’ll often put herself in there for a nap when she’s done playing. She loves to cuddle on the couch, takes treats gently, and is friendly with everyone she’s met so far—she’ll walk up, sit politely, and soak up pets like it’s her job. Then there’s her “wild child” side. Agnes still has lots of puppy energy and will zoom around the house or go hunting for something fun to chew if she’s not supervised—remotes and random treasures included. She plays beautifully with dogs her size and, with a slow introduction, has done great with bigger, higher-energy dogs too. On leash she walks well, with a bit of pulling, and doesn’t bark or react to people or other dogs. She tends not to potty on walks, so a home with a yard or someone patient enough to help her learn a new routine will be helpful. Agnes would thrive in a home with another playful dog and humans who can enjoy her goofy bursts of energy, guide her excitement (she can get jumpy and “mouthy” when really hyped), and then cuddle up with her when it’s time to rest. Grace is a 1-year-old, 20-pound micro-bully who is almost impossibly cute. She’s short, stocky, and perfectly compact, with adorable Frenchie-style ears and a little bully body that makes everyone smile. Grace is currently in a foster home with a cat and has been sweet and respectful. She does best with friendly, social dogs, is great with kids, and loves tagging along on little adventures. Afterward, she’s happiest curled up for cuddle time. This tiny girl is a fighter. Grace came to us after testing positive for parvo and recovered like a champ. She’s now healthy, potty trained, and ready for her forever home. Grace has the best mix of personality. She has playful, excitable energy when she’s feeling fun, but she’s also a total smushy cuddle bug who loves sunbathing and snuggling close. She’s a sensitive little soul who warms up quickly and is naturally curious about the world. Grace has her spay and cherry eye surgeries scheduled, and all of her medical care is being handled. If you’re looking for a small dog with a huge heart and endless charm, Grace is ready to steal it.

Fritz and his sister Helga were surrendered to us by a family who kept them outside and did NOTHING for them. Thank goodness they had each other. They said they got "caught" having theses dogs so surrendered them to us. Both of them are so full of life. Super playful and just an absolute hoot. They are on the smaller side. They are in great health and will bring so much joy to any family. They are in separate foster homes and thriving. This super fun and sweet English Bulldog was found in the town of Delano on the streets asking people to help her. She was hot and tired and hungry and was asking for human help. She got it, and we agreed to take her into our rescue. Imogene was definitely bred and obviously they didn't need her anymore so they dumped her like trash. Imogene doesn't hold a grudge. She just wants to know that you are going to play with her, toss a toy and go for a walk later. She is only 51 pounds of pudge and is such a good girl. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. Banjo is a one-year-old Pug mix with classic happy go lucky puppy energy and a big, playful personality. He came to us as a stray from Harbor Animal Shelter, where he was kenneled with his buddy Yogi, and he has transitioned beautifully into foster life. Banjo is curious, adventurous, and always ready for the next activity. He loves fetch, exploring outside, and sniffing everything in sight, then happily settles in for cuddle time once he has burned off his zoomies. He is house trained, sleeps through the night, and crates well when home alone. He is friendly with everyone he meets and confidently walks up for pets on outings. Like many young dogs, Banjo can be stubborn and is still learning his manners, but he is smart, food motivated, and already working on basic training in his foster home.
