Story
Meet Denali! This sweet, young girl is looking for a Shepherd loving family to call her own. Denali can be a little shy with strangers, but she warms up quickly especially when yummy treats are involved! Like most German Shepherds who do not receive proper socialization as puppies, Denali can be timid in new situations and is still learning that things like the leash and other dogs are not scary, but she is making good progress and is a fast learner! She is as sweet as they come, and like most Shepherds she is smart as a whip and would benefit from positive reinforcement based training to catch up on the skills she has missed out on so far. Denali wants to be friends with other dogs, but she can be a little hesitant at first. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Denali home. If you are interested in meeting with Denali, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Nine years ago, an 8-week-old puppy named Nala wiggled her way into my heart and home. From the start, she was a gentle soul with a playful spark—her favorite game quickly became fetch, and she would happily chase after toys with the energy of a puppy discovering the world. But as much as she loved to run and play, Nala’s true joy was found in cuddles. Whether it was curling up beside me on the couch or resting her head on my lap, she always knew how to make every moment feel special. Over the years, Nala has stayed healthy and strong, never having any physical illness. Her days are filled with relaxation, playtime, and snuggles—always eager to be close to the ones she loves. Now, Nala is looking for someone new to share her peaceful, loving nature with. She’s hoping to find someone with the time to enjoy lazy afternoons, cozy evenings, and plenty of cuddles. If you're ready for a loyal friend with a heart full of love, Nala is waiting to meet you.

Story
Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $160.00) to a location closest to you. Story
Everyone meet Jax! This super sweet shy guy is one amazing pup with a huge heart. Jax is going to need someone very patient with him. He needs time to adjust. That’s all he needs is time and patience. He’s timid initially, but once warmed up, he steals the show and your heart at the same time. He would probably do better with someone with another dog. Jax is great with other dogs and puppies and they help him feel more comfortable which allows him to come out of his shell quicker. He loves walks and car rides!!! Jax has fostered with two of our fosters here in Memphis and they would both be happy to give you a little more information about him. We can’t wait to find him a wonderful home of his own so he can settle in and adjust for good. Once adopted, Jax will travel via RescueVet Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
