Story
Remy is almost 2 years old, spayed, fully healthy, and has no medical issues. She is incredibly friendly, loving, and affectionate. She is high energy and loves to play, run, hike, and be active. She is also super cuddly and wonderful with kids. She truly is the sweetest girl. She knows basic commands, walks very well on a leash, and when off-leash she listens and behaves amazingly. That said, she will do best with a family that can continue strong and consistent training with her. Because Remy is very social and playful, the most important thing for us is that she goes to a home that already has another dog. She needs a furry friend to play with. We are also looking for a home with space for her to run around, ideally a fenced yard

Story
Ozzy came into my life in a very special way. He was gifted to me at 4 months old by a dear friend who was battling cancer. She wanted to make sure he went to a loving home where he would be safe, cared for, and truly loved and I promised her I would do that for him. Ozzy is now 1 year old and has grown into such a sweet, loyal, and loving dog. He has a big heart and an even bigger personality. He absolutely loves to play especially with his giant wooden blocks and enjoys chewing on bigger toys. He’s an active dog who needs space to run, play, and get his energy out. A home with a yard or someone who enjoys being outdoors would be perfect for him. Ozzy is also incredibly affectionate. He loves to cuddle, be close to you, and feels happiest when he’s part of a “pack.” While he can be on his own, he truly thrives when he has people around him. He listens well and is a good boy, but like many young German Shepherds, he would benefit from continued training and structure to help him.

Story
***Medical foster***Meet Buckeye Buckeye is an 8-year-old, 88-pound long-haired German Shepherd with soulful eyes and the quiet presence of a dog who has seen a lot in his life. Theres no doubt that in his prime he was absolutely breathtaking and truthfully, even now, you can still see it. Beneath the patchy coat and healing skin is a truly handsome boy. Buckeye arrived at Canine Collective in rough shape, and he is currently being treated for alopecia and working on restoring his once-glorious coat. Buckeye was surrendered when his family fell on hard times. We believe he may not have received the care he deserved in recent years, but through it all, his gentle spirit has remained intact. He is good with people and appreciates calm, reassuring companionship. He has previously lived with other dogs, but at this stage in life would do best as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the attention and stability he deserves. Right now, Buckeye is looking for a medical foster home where he can continue his treatment and recover in comfort. Our rescue will support his medical care he simply needs a patient, loving home to help him heal. Senior shepherds are something special. They are loyal, wise, and deeply bonded to their people. Buckeye doesnt need chaos or excitement just kindness, routine, and someone willing to give him the second chapter he has earned. If youve ever loved a shepherd, you know they give you their whole heart. Buckeye is ready to give his. Apply as a foster at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Murphy was known as Sean at the shelter at San Antonio. He had been injured by a car and was taken to the shelter where he was placed on the euthanasia list after a few short days. He didn’t have much hope left and had given up. After seeing the sadness in his eyes, we knew we had to help. He was transported to Ohio and was seen by our orthopedic surgeon who determined he had to lose his long beautiful tail, but there was also a good chance he would need a femoral head ostectomy to correct his hip and leg. Because a small amount of healing was noted, he was given 3 weeks to determine if his body would heal enough on its own and we could spare him the pain of surgery. That turned out to be the case, so this sweet guy only lost his tail. Murphy is doing wonderfully and continues to heal and gain strength. He has been cleared for adoption and is hoping to find a very loving family to give him the life he deserves. Murphy is a shepherd mix. Best guess by the vet is a mix with Chow Chow because of his tiny, flopped over ears, but we aren’t sure. If you would like to meet this lovebug, please submit an application on our website, canaananimalsanctuary.org.

Story
Meet Scrooge Scrooge is a stunning, classic German Shepherd who is approximately 12 years old and weighs 71 pounds. He came to Canine Collective after his owner experienced financial hardship and is now looking for a committed, understanding forever home. This handsome boy has a sweet temperament and is still very much a puppy at heart. As a strong, young shepherd, he will thrive with continued training, structure, and regular exercise. With consistency and leadership, Scrooge has all the makings of a deeply loyal and devoted companion.Scrooge is dog selective. He has lived with other dogs in the past with thoughtful management (using gates and separation when needed), and he has done well with some dogs including a volunteers dog but he can be reactive toward others. Because of this, he would do best as an only dog or in a shepherd-savvy home willing to manage introductions carefully and set clear boundaries. In the right environment, Scrooge will shine as a playful, affectionate, and dedicated best friend. If youre looking for a smart, loving shepherd to build a strong one-on-one bond, Scrooge may be your perfect match. Apply to adopt at www.caninecollective.org

Story
Say hello to DINO! This bundle of joy came into the rescue and stole everyone’s heart immediately. His kind endearing eyes will make your heart melt. Dino was a puppy that was found by a wonderful person at the person’s place of employment. He fed Dino daily and allowed him to sleep in his car on his lunch breaks. Dino remained loyal and stayed around the place of work until they reached out for help from the rescue. To this day he loves cars and feels very safe from the outside cruel world inside of one. Dino has now been placed in a loving foster home and is learning to play wonderful with the foster’s big dogs and puppies that are fostering with him half his size. Dino is doing great in a crate and potty training. This guy catches on really quick. He is so appreciative of having a safe environment to thrive. He will lay on you or keep his head in your lap forever if you will allow. Personality: Dino is goofy, energetic, and playful! He does well with correction. Dino would be great in a home with another dog to keep showing the ropes of puppy life. He is soooooo ready to be your new best friend and would love a home where he can grow to be a wonderful life long family companion. Once adopted Dino will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel each weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the northeast, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make this cutie part of your family, please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9
